So why didn't he keep that team having stumbled on it. Seems to me that selection was an accident and the rest of the selections with Adams back was the real modus operandi.
  2. I think that just after two o'clock will be the point that will dictate what the atmosphere in the stadium will be. If Jones picks another of his bugger's muddle teams that makes little sense and looks like a loser from the off, especially if the defence starts off in our usual disjointed fashion then the stadium will react badly. On the other hand if he picks a balanced team as against Man City containing the four new players that then rips into Wolves, then the stadium will react by supporting them. In addition Bree might have to be in the team due to the possible fitness issue with KWP.
  3. I gave up my season ticket after many years watching garbage. After Koeman It went pear shaped and looked nothing like I wanted it to be. When Covid came I just didn't renew. I have a great IPTV so I've not missed a game since. I'm just yelling at the tv or laptop now, nothing changes. Getting old is a pest, although I'm still playing regular golf in spite of it. At least my brain is functioning well, I'm driving a fast car not exactly a Boeing. Best wishes for your recovery.
  4. I hope you're better soon.
  5. Everybody but KWP and the two long term fitness players are in the gallery photos
  6. Mind you he could also possibly be Saints fan 4 Life.
  7. I was referring to the original training alone post. The 606 rumour I'm not so sure.
  8. Very few on here know who Charlie Miller is but it is very likely true.
  9. That's an absolute disgrace. that's nearly half our best team right there. The man is a complete pillock!!!!!

    FA CUP Wins

I saw both those games. City were a first division side, Saints third division (promoted) and Terry Paine tore them apart even though Cliff Huxford pulled a thigh muscle and limped through the game, no substitutes then. The following year it was the Ipswich team that finished Division two champions. In those days teams played their best team in the FA Cup. John Sydenham wasn't playing much, I think he was on National Service in the army at Crookham. Saints played some of the best attacking football I've seen. I think one year scoring well over a hundred goals.
  11. Nathan Jones started off completely on the wrong foot. Like a lot of fully qualified coaches, head full of systems, statistics can't see the wood from the trees. Unless the required players are brought in specifically for a required system or in the unlikely event are already insitu that system cannot work. Probably at Stoke and certainly here he has to work with existing players many not suited and others not convinced so tinkering won't work. Luton has been quoted ad infinitum but there he built the team for the system he favoured, the only real way to make it work. We have a big squad here and some good players. How do we get a good team. taking the extreme example, draw the names out, Goalkeeper, Fullbacks, Centre backs, Midfielders, Forwards. A team appears. Put those players into their best positions, obviously it won't really work but that eleven players will have a natural shape. Try anything else and the team won't work at all. In my view what Nathan Jones is trying to do is the opposite to selecting the best team. He is picking the players for one of his sysyems, some favourites, some compromises and one or two through gritted teeth. His best players fairly obvious. Not only does it need the best players it needs them to be blended into a cohesive unit. Every team has a natural shape put it in any other shape and it won't work. Jones just doesn't do this. Initially there needs to be a process of eliminations. Leave out if possible slow defenders, Bednarek, DCC. Leave out midfielders who give the ball away, Diallo. Leave out forwards who are slow/weak or don't score goals, Elyonoussie, Adams, Armstrong. What's left. Bazunu, KWP, ABK, Salisu, Perrault, JWP, Lavia, Alcaraz, Sulemana, Onuachu, Orsic. After that it's back ups, added to the eliminations, Cabellero and McCarthy, Bree, AMN, Lyanco, Larios, Edozie, Mara. We then have Stuart Armstrong and Liveramento to consider in due course. That team looks like a natural 4-1-2-3 or 4-3-3 or even a 4-5-1 but the players dictate the shape. Jones is doing it the other way round and it won't work until players are brought in to play whatever system is wanted. As he doesn't get it in my view he has to be replaced as soon as possible by somebody who does get it. It also looks like Ankersen doesn't get it either.
  12. If Jones thinks Elyonoussie and Diallo is the answer to any position he is an idiot and even more of an idiot to pick Adams and Armstrong to solve the scoring problem. He could have improved the team last Saturday by leaving the four at home. Bazunu, KWP, ABK, Salisu, Perrault, JWP, Lavia, Alcaraz, Orsic, Onuachu, Sulemana. looks a reasonably balanced team. He needs to eat humble pie, get the players onside and work out who his best players are, DCC etc need to be onside and Leave the failures out completely. Better stll get rid of him.
  13. Isn't Paul Hart ex Pompey. Didn't he manage them at one time??
  14. I'd go for Poch and offer a contract however if not keen long term until the end of this season along with a million bonus for keeping us up.
  15. It's more to do with his historical ability, his international experience, and his goalscoring record and getting up to speed.
  16. We cannot afford to continue playing Kamikaze full backs. I don't care if they don't attack because they are defenders first and foremost. Our Zonal marking is a joke. It is crying out for the strongest headers to attack the crosses not stand underneath grappling opponents without going for the ball. What the hell is the manager thinking. Elyonoussie, Diallo. Adams, Armstrong are hopeless at carrying out the job they are in the side for., just leave them out. Hopefully KWP will be back on Saturday. Play ABK or DCC and Salisu. Left back is defensively a problem. Personally I think we should go 4-3-3 with JWP Alcaraz and Lavia in the middle, Sullemana, Onuachu and Orsic. I can see the five at the back bollocks rearing it's ugly head again versus Wolves and another game wasted.
  17. We've spent £60m on reinforcements so if we've got clearance/permits then play them. We've got 18 matches so don't waste one playing the same non scoring wasters that got us in this position.
  18. It was a clusterfuck that handed Newcastle the semi final. It doesn't work for us but a four does. Jones will get us relegated if he continues to think we can play that way. Outnumbered up front and in the middle and pulled all over the place at the back. Totally disorganised.
  19. 11pm
  20. Sky a waste of time, Chelsea. Arsenal, MU, etc Almost ignoring the rest of football.
  21. 6ft - 7.13ins / 2.01m Help us defend set pieces.
  22. Reported Onuachu training at Genk this morning.
  23. On Sky at Everton listing non-arrivals including Onuachu. Looks like it's only us in for him at the moment.
  24. Zapata looks a useful striker but he's 32 on 1st April. Loan with option to buy ok. Get Onuachu as well.
  25. If we are meeting the release clause we have to lodge the full amount with FIFA or EUFA I can't remember which and they pay the club. The only way instalments can be used is the selling club agreeing to sell without triggering the release clause.
