    Lyanco

Lyanco has put in a couple of stand out performances at right back, against Arsenal's Martinelli and last night. His achilles heal is trying to be too clever, He very nearly dropped us right in it last night taking the ball out he tried a fancy flick and gave the ball away. He needs to keep it simple. He is less of a liability at right back. His interception, run and pass to Mara was outstanding. At the end we kept the ball in that right hand corner and ran a considerable amount of time off the clock. Lyanco backheeled off a defender to win another corner there.
  4. Mara looked a lot better playing as the front striker. He took his goal well. I actually think Adams wouldn't have scored that. He also put away clinically a marginally offside chance in an early season game that was disallowed but it was similar to most of those one on one against the keeper that Adams misses. Pending a goalscoring striker we could do a lot worse than give him his head there.
  5. Still in the FA Cup, Semi Final EFL Cup, Beat MC 2-0 I wonder what influence that will have on transfer targets as well as beating two Premier sides in the process.
  6. I don't think we will but if we do McCarthy will soon demonstrate his weakness. We should have tried to keep Forster but I think his salary made it difficult to come to agreement. Looking at the defence and midfield in front of him small wonder he is letting goals in. It's been a shambles. If you want a scapegoat take the bloke that keeps missing sitters. That really has cost us points.
  7. That doesn't mean a thing. It shows no comparison of the quality of strike or whether the the shots were even saveable as many weren't. Unless the shots are measureable which they weren't there is nothing there to prove. Either player could have failed to deal with saveable shots, made saves from almost unsaveable shots or been beaten by unsaveable shots. Without that the numbers mean as little as possession figures passing the ball around the back four and goalkeeper inflating pass numbers.
  8. I'm not sure McCarthy would save much at all.
  9. He doesn't chicken out at the near post or come out feet first to avoid getting clattered. If you don't like Bazuna fair enough but McCarthy shouldn't have been retained. Facing penalties he's a joke, half way to the post before the taker reaches the ball so is easily beaten going the wrong way. If we feel Bazunu isn't good enough then we have to get an international class goalkeeper who is better. As for palming into his own net it was AMN slicing the ball looping under the bar and the Lincoln centreback piling in on him. Two things VAR, it was a foul secondly why wasn't one of our players blocking the centreback aggressively as he should have been. We are far too passive and need a bit of the old don't take any prisoners mentality. Too many pussies.
  10. It might be we are putting enquiries out there to look like we are going for alternatives and use it as a way to push other negotiations on.

    Stu Armstrong

NJ saying he has a pain problem so rationing his time. Elsewhere on here alleged ITK saying playing with a hip problem. Which makes some sense.
  15. I don't get leaving Armstrong out completely unless he's going to start against Man City. Is this three centrbacks and AMN and Perrault as full backs or Lyanco at right back with AMN holding and Aribo and JWP in midfield. Probably the inflexible manager playing the three centrebacks.
  16. Terrem Moffi. I watched his last two games and he only had a couple of touches and looked totally disconnected and just trotted around. I couldn't get it out of my head, how could he have scored his goals playing like that. I've had a good look round to try and find the answer. What I found was he looked amazing around the penalty area, looked super aware and one on one with the keeper scored in all sorts of ways. It may be he is on his way somewhere and that was the reason for the disconnection. He certainly looks like a goalscorer and although two footed and good in the air looks to have a cracking left foot. Maybe that's why he is being looked at.
  17. Anti Niemi, didn't he sign from Hearts?
  18. Exactly. And Jones has to accommodate him and not try and shoehorn him into a typical Jones clusterfuck. Build around him rather than the other way round. I'm looking forward to long range goals rather than big misses. He puts his foot through the ball rather than trying to curl his foot around it so he gets great power.
  19. Probably miles better than our normal dross. Aribo, Elyonoussi, Walcott, A Armstrong and quick and a hard worker. Looking at what we have to suffer at the moment and certainly quicker and harder working and doesn't look like our resident chickens. Reported we are looking at him and again at the S cup semi final this weekend.
  20. That's where he played on Monday but he looks two footed. You'll have to check his Japanese record. Cracking finish for goal nearly central after robbing Rangers around half way, ran through and comprehensively beat the keeper with a cool finish.
  21. I've seen him several times recently, Quick, tenacious and a good finisher. Watch Celtic's opener against Rangers last Monday. Japanese international and 25 years of age. Looks a decent player. Aribo and Elyonoussie could hardly be called quick or tenacious.
  22. Latest reports we are looking at Maeda from Celtic. Very quick and cool in front of goal. Presumably for wide right,
  23. Cracking signing now get Maeda in for the other wing. A central goalscorer plus Adams would give us a chance.
