  1. To those Aviation buffs The Helicopters are in Boscombe Down - Old Sarum area also Helicopter training carried out from Thruxton and AAC at Middle Wallop just to the NE.
  2. Every time he carries the ball forward he leaves the defensively lightweight JWP who lacks pace to cover him who tried to clear off the line for the second goal as the defence went missing and Diallo up near the corner flag losing the ball. FFS it was a no brainer, Newcastle had only one move get the ball forward to ASM or CW. Cover that and we have a clean sheet. KWP was defensively a weak link for the first goal. He isn't a left side defender. He was often caught facing the wrong way and lost I think SAM who headed across goal and despite Stephens being close he failed to track CW until it was too late. We didn't need to play KWP at left back it weakened us defensively although he attacks well.
  3. I think he has a thinking problem. His brain is in sync with his feet consequently he is always rushed and presented with an early pass misses the opportunity and then has to beat defenders challenging him. He needs to get his head up and ahead of his feet which could avoid snatching at chances.. Moi showed how, shinned the shot and bundled in the rebound because his brain was fast, he did what was needed.
  4. That comment is absolute garbage. He was out of position for both goals today. Ball watches and self indulges, show boating and leaving his position wide open The sooner he is replaced the less goals will be conceded.
  5. That was two points dropped today because of gross stupidity on the part of several individuals. Ralph - Picking Djenepo was an act of faith that backfired. Appalling in front of goal, Give him a ball and let him kick it around in the road, Redmond, Armstrong and Brouja are better. Stephens strolling forward out of defence leaving a big gap. All he has to do is play Livramento early and hold his defensive cover with Salisu. Dropped us and Salisu in it multiple times, Somebody needs to tell the idiot that he is part of the problem and not VVD. Diallo bursting out of midfield and losing the ball. Romeu for all his good work spoilt it by losing the ball time after time in advanced position leaving the back two / one vulnerable to the long ball. Like Stephens the defensive midfielders need to pass it forward and be disciplined and hold their positions shutting down any potential break. Elyanoussi showed awareness, clever control and did well to get on the end of Redmond's cross. Brouja looks like a player that plays around the box unlike Adams who despite covering the hard yards threatened little. McCarthy had a better game. Still two close in goals conceded. We should have won that but I think the team will evolve with maybe three or four of last weeks team v MU dropping down.

    Lyanco

Interesting that Watford, owned by the owners of Udinese are trying to buy Lyanco as their first choice. If he really was poor their Italian contacts would surely have advised them.
  7. The manager is hypocritical in these circumstances. Hoibjerg out, Forster out. Ings plays, Bertrand plays all refused club's offer. It would make sense if he considers McCarthy better than Forster. Certainly not on his recent league performances.
  8. So Maguire body checking Adams didn't happen. What did he expect us to do, lay down for another 0-9. Get used to it sunshine other managers are going to park the bus on your lawn.
  9. The team that surrendered last week gave everything this week well done all of them. A shotstopper would be a great help. This game, the manager forsook his 4-2-2-2 and pragmatically put on an extra defender then a midfielder and swopped for a fresh full back albeit on the wrong side for him. In the end the more combative compacted team nearly won it and fully deserved not to lose. Well done Ralph you've learned a valuable lesson. we need to shut games down not open up whilst tiring. We have a half decent bench so put the fresh legs on as some tire or are exposed. That was one against the top six now go to Newcastle give us more of the same.
  10. Wasn't it Stephens pushing up, caught ball watching by Kane, who played Son in for a sack full?
  11. Has he lost the plot. That team that surrendered abjectly to Everton last week picked again in it's entirety. Flapper McCarthy in goal again, Ball watcher at Centre Back, Showboater at Left midfield, and how many tackles will he pull out of today at Right midfield. In my view they should have been left out today. I hope you can see what I'm doing here, hoping beyond hope they will make me eat my words and all have a stormer. Somehow I can't see it but clutching at straws is the best I can see.
  12. If McCarthy plays and continues his substandard performances we will be relegated. I've never heard anything so rediculous as keeping a better goalkeeper on the bench who just might help us and paying him an enormous amount in the process, whilst giving a substandard goalkeeper a new contract. Sheer lunacy.
  13. He doesn't put himself in harms way so never gets a block in by quickly closing down the attacker. What was he doing while the ball was looping in. He was facing the play but didn't anticipate what was happening. As soon as the ball was headed goalwards he should have got to it first.
  14. I watched Tosin last night albeit playing Millwall. He looked very accomplished and in control. No ball watching, a good passer and looked quick. Better than any we've got. Why not go for two centre backs and try and offload Stephens. Rumour has it Fulham interested in Obefemi.
  15. We have played against teams and pulverised them, we have seen teams over run and yet get a result because their keeper dominated and saved everything. Something that McCarthy seems incapable of. On Saturday several times he took up a static "Angel of the north" pose as the ball flashed past him as it has done on numerous occasions in the past. I get the feeling that there is a complete collapse in confidence to defend with McCarthy in goal. His passing out from the back bears no resemblence to what is necessary. When he has the ball everything stops dead instead of moving it on quickly he seems to have no idea what he is going to do next so hesitates. Forster has had several high profile "him against the odds" displays, Barcelona in the Champions League, Winning the Scottish Cup v Rangers while on loan. He looks in a different class to McCarthy. To me the team seem to look more confident with Forster in goal. He has kept a good proportion of clean sheets, I would have thought it was a no brainer to play him over McCarthy. He also blocks close range something that McCarthy won't do. It shouldn't hinge on whether one or the other is willing or unwilling to sign a new contract, I do wonder why we're even offering one to McCarthy.
  16. About time we signed a proper defender why stop at one.
  17. This afternoon I had a log in problem Contacted the Admin on Saintsplayer. Sorted in five minutes, now working perfectly again.
  18. If you're talking about Wes Morgan, he genuinely attacked the ball and won a lot. Don't expect Vestergaard to play that way because he won't he'll stand and watch. Best of luck.
  19. My memory may be playing tricks but I for some reason I remember Ardiles wearing 2 for Argentina and running the games from midfield.
  20. I have my own view on what makes a good defensive centre back the most vital defensive position in any team. Vestergaard had only one asset for me and was basically deficient in the others. He mostly could control the ball and hit an accurate crossfield pass. Defensively he was a liability without two other centre backs to cover him. Pacewise he was a cart horse without the agility to turn quickly. No acceleration to speak of. His marking was laughable, wrong positionally so neither marked or was in a position to simultaneously see the mark and the ball which is essential. For his height he rarely won aerial challenges under pressure while flattering to deceive often heading the ball away whilst unchallenged. Often he was too late and too slow in last ditch challenges which often ended up with the ball in our net. When he did get forward out of position and we lost the ball he left us high and dry at the back never getting back. Personally I was holding my breath that he wouldn't go. I think maybe the management were so obliging to Leicester because they also saw the opportunity to plug a major hole in our defence. Hopefully we'll get somebody in that can genuinely attack the aerial balls and be swift and smart enough to improve our defending. As for Leicester! We'll see.
  21. Reported as signed subject to medical but with Saints permission already training with Leicester so he can be available for saturday.
  22. Vestergaard wants a new challenge! I presume it's because he is mostly too slow to make challenges as he makes a passable impression of a lamp post. I've lost count of the times the ball is stuck in our net and he hasn't moved just watching. Playing against quick forwards he is like a carthorse in the Derby. As for going forward, if we lose the ball we usually are left exposed as he can't get back and usually makes no effort. If we can find a mug to buy him that would be great. Use the money to buy a quick, hard man defender.
  23. I've been with SaintsPlayer for about three years. They are now a proper IPTV channel using two IPTV streams and connections to smart tv. They have extensive coverage on movies, series, all sports. £70 a year for one connection to all your devices or £120 for two devices at one time. Also shorter term connections. Pay by bank transfer. If there is a problem they have sorted it quickly. I'm very satisfied. They have all 92 clubs on live in league sections. If a stream is buffering there are alternatives plus direct connections to tv stations worldwide showing games. I often use Supersport for example. Worth a look at their website.
