  1. The system was solid, nothing came from either full back, all our crosses were tossed in from 30yds out and easily dealt with. The three goals were shots in the middle, Surman's was a chance, Saganowski volleyed from 25 yds and ran from 10yds inside his own half to shoot through the keepers legs from 10yds. We are very vulnerable down the flanks, against a better side not lumping the ball up to Parkin leaves us exposed especially down our right. The three front midfield players in this system have to move across and give it width, none of them did it quickly enough, but Surman was the best. McGoldrick worked hard but doesn't play across the pitch.
  2. A very welcome win. Superb, Great, it certainly wasn't. Solid yes, because we packed the centre of the field with a 4-1-2-1-2. Why did we win, we scored three goals, all of which were brilliant shots. Surman cracked his in from 12 yds, Saganowski from 20 yds, then ran from 10 yds inside his own half to shoot through the keepers legs. All the goals came from the middle, we put in cross after cross from 30 yds out, all gobbled up by the centre backs or goalkeeper, better from the left, but we had no width and didn't put one cross in from the byeline. We have hardly got a goal in the six yd box from play this season. Good teams score 80% of their goals inside the six yd box. Unless we start creating chances in the box we are going to struggle to score, we really can't expect lightning to strike with too many more goals from shots. We have had loads of shots, blocked, scuffed, or off target, yesterday we got three good ones on target for once. The diamond is solid but vulnerable to teams playing wide. We may become difficult to beat, but we need wins. Euell up front did a real job, Liptak looked a useful player and won all the headers he went for.
  3. And in retrospect they were right. His ego and micromanagement without accountability ruined this club. There should be no more executive directors. Make every department head report to the board not to a CEO.
  4. Lowe is a failed incompetent bean counter with no empathy with the customers. He cannot now succeed. What qualification is that to keep the job. The Chairman and board need to be NON - EXECUTIVE. The club secretary should handle the finances, the football management the football, and the board ratify the decisions. No CEO/overlord. Department heads report to the board.
  5. To tell the truth Colin, I scratched my head about that, but kept coming back to him. I was tempted by BWP or McLaggon, but what made me go for him, he always stays wide. He isn't the quickest but will track back and can beat players. I thought he might be able to wall pass his way to the byeline.
  6. You fix it, the ground will be full, probably everybody cheering for once, be able to sell it worldwide, call Max Clifford.
  7. They played 4-1-2-1-2 on Saturday not 4-4-2. Unless they play two wide in 4-4-2 or something similar they are going to be feeding off scraps. If they play the usual narrow crap we will have to keep a clean sheet to stand much chance unless we have a bit of luck. ------------Davis Perry----Saeijs--Liptak---Surman James---Euell---Wotton--Skacel ------Saganowski--McGoldrick
  8. See www.dailyecho.co.uk. March from the bargate.
  9. FFS lots of bloody should haves, we are still playing the same bloody narrow crap, what they call chances is just picking up scraps. Goals and clean sheets win matches, narrow, negative, frightened teams win bugger all as we are proving week in, week out.
  10. Must be good 0-0 half time against the reserves of the worst team in the conference.
  11. I doesn't matter what the fans do. You can cheer until the cows come home but until the idiots who pick the team, put out a balanced team playing with width we will only pick up the odd point or three. Which won't be enough. If the prat in charge doesn't change his so called self styled sophisticated approach and apply simple common sense it won't matter. We might as well grow potatoes on the wings.
  12. Maybe if you sang- 4-4-2 you twotte- he might get the message.
  13. FFS they didn't play 4-4-2. They played a narrow diamond in midfield. 4-1-2-1-2, that's why nobody picked up the winger who was able to stick a ball from wide behind our two centre backs for the goal and why we can't get to the byeline. Schneiderlin's and Euell's shots that hit the post were because the goal was packed with defenders and anything hit left would have probably been blocked, how many times has that happened this year. Until they play a proper wide 4-4-2 we won't win a game unless we are just lucky.
  14. Probably the best ever captain would be Alf Ramsey, first class footballer, England and Spurs regular, as a manager won the 2nd and 1st division championships in successive years, won the world cup as England manager in 1966, nobody else comes close as a leader.
  15. Just take your ticket to the ticket office and ask for a refund as you are not going anymore.
  16. the coaches have been crap all season, I don't know where we get our tic tacs from but no other team anywhere seems to employ them. Why don't we score, because we don't create clearcut chances, don't get to the byeline, can't shoot, launch crosses that wouldn't trouble an incompetent centre half, play players that have an inflated ego and no end product.
  17. Old it might be but I get the point.
  18. Probably less than that. Years ago the council wanted to build a municipal stadium behind the new docks. This fell through because the club demanded sole use, or they wouldn't support it. The idea was abandoned.
  19. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear we are in melt down. A Saints fan was found dead in the street, wearing a Saints shirt, The Police dressed him in stockings, suspenders and a mini skirt to save him from embarrassment. That just about says it all.
  20. It's not so much a miracle worker with money, it's to get shot of the idiot that keeps thinking up revolutionary concepts that anyone but him can see are bound to fail, causing the fans to be alienated. But his and our worst problem is his personality, he is devisive and a lot of supporters just don't want him.
  21. First things first, get rid of the clowns. The shareholdings are the problem and I don't see administration as part of the solution. I like your thinking.
  22. Even with all the positive support we can't win. So what difference does it make. Maybe if there was plenty of ructions in the ground the players might be too timid to dare to play badly and pull their fingers out. I don't like it but just a thought.
  23. I've just recognised the error of my ways. Wotte is absolutely brilliant. Play every body in the centre of the pitch, then belt the ball up to two midgets, bugger me why didn't I see it. Bloody hell Man Utd, Barcelona and Spain must surely adopt this super system if they are going to win anything.
  24. Just like the newly launched car I'll probably buy, I can wait until the desperate deals arrive. I'll wait, and if everybody does the same the price will have to drop.
