  1. Lowe was hardly going to sell anyone in the circumstances and weaken an already untenable position. The average fan is angry enough at the moment, if some of the better players were sold at knockdown fees and not replaced, Saturdays march would be nothing in comparison to the reaction.
  2. Good post and I can guarantee the source.
  3. You should avoid the sarcasm and attempted put downs unless you are accurate and fireproof.
  4. We may yet find Skacel and Euell not going along with Saeijs, Saganowski and Surman could give us a combative team to get some results. Sadly Lallana is pretty poor at the moment and hardly rates a place on the bench.
  5. If you are going to be a smart ass, it would help if you could spell.
  6. Hertha wanted him and Lowe demanded a large fee. I was told on 19th July they had walked away because of the fee.
  7. Last Jan was a different issue the Czech coach told him he wouldn't be considered, playing in the CCC. He went on loan to Hertha and went to the Euro 2008 in the Czech squad. I don't blame him. Being messed around by GB probably had a lot to do with it.
  8. I have a source high up in the embassy in Berlin who is a football fan and knew people in Hertha. He told me on 19th July that Hertha had dropped their interest because of the unrealistic demands by Southampton, although they were keen to keep him but not at the price demanded.
  9. Lowe wanted Skacel out because of his expensive contract. The fee he demanded caused Hertha to walk away. So now we are saddled with his contract for two years. Yes, a free transfer with no added cost was the way to get him off the books. He has 18 months of a lucrative contract left, we either honour it, pay him off, or let him leave on mutually acceptable terms. Obviously the lad can add up. Whatever the reason all the experienced players were excluded with the exception of Davis and Perry.
  10. Hertha wanted him but the club asked too much on top of his contract and Hertha walked away. It was Lowe trying to cash in not Skacel. Ipswich came in and offered him about half his current contract that had 2 years to run. It was Lowe again who gave him the ultimatum, go or you won't play again for Saints. He along with Euell, Thomas, Saganowski, Raziak, John, Wotton were excluded on the dogma of youth only. Put the blame where it is due, Lowe as always.
  11. If the police say it's on then if the pitch is fit, it's on.
  12. 31st July 2010.
  13. Ground staff expect the game to be played, pitch perfect and covered, will be cleared tomorrow.
  14. Get real chaps, Lowe wants to get him off the wage bill, and as such he was pressured by Lowe. FFS the lad has 18 months left on a damn good contract. He would be an imbecile to go anywhere on an inferior contract. He even went on the Transfer List, which means his contract isn't paid in full if he leaves.
  15. Saeijs in, Saganowski back playing, Skacel not going is a big plus for me.
  16. Looked committed every game I've seen him play this season, and is easily the best player in at least four positions. WL, LB, LM, ST/Hole.
  17. Every time this season Skacel played, he looked like he was doing his best. Don't forget that Lowe told him if he didn't go to Ipswich he wouldn't play for the worlds best youth team again.
  18. It was David Jones, Financial Director, in the club's financial statement, who said that players would have to be traded in the January transfer window.
  19. Why would we want him the way he is playing? Who in their right mind would pay £2.5m? Nobody is going to waste money on a player that is unproven potential, that would take loans and two or three seasons to bring through.
  20. It is covered Ron, could see it on the SSN video. The stands looked clear. depends on the roads, surrounds and car parks.
  21. And that, is just about it for me too. Lowe is not even from the same planet. He is one of those unique individuals who has no connection with the area, no empathy with the people, no idea that he is ever wrong, and unaware that it is contempt that people feel for him. A gentleman would have just realised he didn't fit in, and as he wasn't wanted would have just sold up and left.
  22. Money is only part of it, it's the dogmatic youth approach, especially early in the season, when the experienced players were here, fit and ignored.
  23. Any bets on it being overturned on appeal. If it is Riley should be suspended.
  24. Opposing managers can see that having James as the only wide right player of any description leaves us vulnerable. They push up the left back, play the left midfield on the touchline and reinforce with the centre midfielder, often into the space behind James. That makes us vulnerable to the counter attack and James vulnerable because he is often faced by two or worse a triangle of opponents with little cover. He is a good passer of the ball, rarely gives it away, links up well and puts in a decent cross. He is a better player than he is given credit for. If we played a proper 4-4-2 he would in my opinion be a lot less exposed and consquently play better.
  25. Early in the close season was the time to pick up those players that were looking for clubs. We had already decided on the youth team policy and paid for more youth, Schneiderlin/Forecast/Gasmi. Sadly we were not in the market for experience however cheap.
