  1. I find it amazing that people are debating financial forecasts etc for fifteen years in the future by so called experts from either side who when they need to, can't forecast what's going to happen next month.
  2. Probably speaks French. Didn't he play for PSG after Espanyol ?
  3. It's a big mistake to sign players that need straightening out. Leave well alone and only sign players with the right ability, background and character. Less pain in the long run.
  4. None of the above!
  5. Yes but we only had two substitutions and Wanyama was obviously suffering and only lasted eight minutes before Rodriguez came on. Davis wasn't a replacement for either. In my view Rodriguez should have replaced Pelle, and Romeu replaced Wanyama. The way we did it weakened us.
  6. Only because Saints were about five mins behind due to injury time etc. Reverted immediately Saints came out. Watched Saints no problem on NDC/USA and Bournemouth today both perfect.
  7. The Davis substitution on 64 minutes was wrong. It left us light in midfield and unable to win the ball back especially without Fonte in defence. Everton scored within four minutes and pressed us for ten minutes. Davis is not a tackler and defensively lightweight. If Wanyama had to come off he should have been replaced by the combative Romeu who after all deputised well for Wanyama when he was out for five games and wouldn't have defensively weakened the midfield. It allowed the game to change for a period and only changed back after Everton sat back.
  8. For anybody interested. Joanna George, Freepost RSBB-XRZT-ZTXE, The Conservative Party Foundation, 30 Millbank, London, SW1P 4DP. They should have a tidy pile by now.
  9. The Austrians are hacked off at the Italians waving them northwards and are talking about closing the routes from Italy. That'll be interesting. Poland refusing to now accept their 7000 quota. Not a club to be a member of.
  10. The post was more about bureaucratic incompetence producing a document that said nothing that hadn't been repeated by numerous politicians recently. Getting a bit like a boring record. Still another £7m to look forward to. I can't wait.
  11. I received the government's leaflet a couple of days ago. I really don't get what the fuss is about. It is an absolute waste of money. The same tired conjecture that the politicians have been spouting for weeks. If that is the best the government can do with £9m+ they are in more trouble than I thought. It will lose them more votes than they gain. I posted mine back to the Conservatives by Freepost.
  12. He is still work in progress and is really only getting games because we have no third left sided centre back, so Bertrand plays there in the really limited, negative 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 take your pick. That formation won't win anything, whilst most are playing 4-2-3-1, Leicester are probably going to win the Premier with the much maligned 4-4-2. We played Arsenal off the park playing a high pressing 4-4-2 at Christmas. With all the forwards we have now playing three centre backs and only one striker is defeatist, unlike Leicester who give it a go every game. Back to Targett, he won't hold down a place at left back in a four unless there are injuries. Koeman doesn't seem to trust him in a four.
  13. Under a previous treaty that cannot be altered, all residents with the right of residence, employment etc retain those rights irrespective of what happens in the referendum. It is not an Eu treaty and is signed up to by everybody. I just can't remember which treaty but I think it pre dates the EU.
  14. After we signed David Webb we went on an unbeaten run.
  15. Estimated 5000 ISIS fighters infiltrated into the EU, 360ish returned to the UK. Too late to close the stable door. It's only a matter of time until the next soft target is attacked. The great majority of muslims are peaceful and no threat. On the other hand the radical jihadists and preachers etc are a clear and present threat. In the last war aliens were interned until the end of hostilities. If the present situation escalates internment may be an action that is tried by desperate governments. Iraq, blame Blair and Bush for tearing the lid off, carrying out illegal war and regime change. Libya, blame Cameron and Sarkozy getting rid of Gaddafi. Syria, Cameron again this time with the useless Qbama trying for regime change and to bomb Assad's forces. That didn't work because the Russians got it right. Hussein, Gaddafi and Assad are /were dictators who oppressed the population but kept a lid on the terrorists. Until Blair, Bush, Cameron and Sarkozy took a hand there were no circumstances that caused the mass migration we see now. Libya wasn't a route for African migrants and Iraq and Syria were relatively stable. What we have now is a self inflicted situation caused by idiots.
  16. I think that immigration and security will decide the referendum result.
  17. Is that the same Pwc that is heavily contracted to the EU? We now know you can make it up.
  18. Pelle had a mare in the first half, giving the ball away far too much. In the second half he was effective in as much as two assists and a cracking goal.
  19. I think he just may have kicked Osborne's chances of succeeding Cameron into the long grass. He is the minister responsible and has been overruled by Osborne. At least he stands by his principles unlike May, Hammond, Javed etc who want to keep in with Cameron. If Brexit they will have to go.
  20. A lot of people think that there is a debate, that there is even a campaign with figure heads and prominent supporters, that people will be swayed by the arguments misrepresented by either side. There isn't, on the 23rd June millions will go and vote for what they believe is the result they want and most likely they believe today. They are not interested in politicians etc and despise them and it won't matter what they say because most people can see through them and are set to give them a bloody nose. The debate may chunter on but I think the great majority of the voting population isn't even listening having had up to forty years to make their mind up they've already done that.
  21. Interestingly one of the biggest criticisms I have of Davis his habit of pointing and doing nothing leaving it to others. He rarely gets close enough to press and mostly just shuffles around to within about four or five yards of opponents then moves on to the next one never getting in a tackle or block. Tonight Koeman on MNF with Sky's box of video tricks analysed with Jamie Carragher Stoke's goal on Saturday. Initially he praised Martina for centrally picking up Arnautovich but then criticised him for not getting back out to the corner quickly enough to block the cross. Then he highlighted Davis who was standing in a closer position instead of getting in and blocking the cross, did his usual pointing and didn't bother to move, leaving Martina who had further to go to get a block in. Koeman said Davis should have got in and blocked the cross instead of just pointing and doing nothing.
  22. I don't think too many got back though.
  23. Personally I think as we found out against Chelsea and the better teams playing five at the back will cause possession to be surrendered as the midfield is outnumbered. I would prefer four at the back with Clasie, Wanyama and Romeu in midfield and play the same front three. Playing Long as the front man with Pelle in support worked well and pulled Stoke around, Tadic gives us a natural left sided player whilst Romeu has shown an appetite for supporting the attackers. I prefer Soares to Martina at right back but I wouldn't be surprised to see the physically stronger Martina play even though his positioning is sometimes suspect.
  24. Exciting game. Two well taken goals. Pretty good closing down all the game. VVD was the best player on the field. Shane Long was immense, shows massive courage and gives everything. Nice to see Pelle score, but for a man of his size he really is a wooser. The midfield worked hard together with the back four ensuring Forster had little to do. JWP did well when he came on. Mane red should be rescinded. Stoke were a decent side but we didn't retain the ball particularly well regularly giving it away. They looked very dangerous potentially but we worked so hard we nullified most of their threat. Apart from the two goals, Tadic made a mess of a great chance, JWP hit the bar, If Benteke drew a penalty last week for Liverpool, it was a bolted on penalty.
  25. I think he is?
