  1. Something wrong with the rules if that's a red card. And Flores' play acting. It's pathetic.
  2. West Ham's a good fixture so I don't want them to go down and I think they won't. Likewise Palace and Fulham, but I fear both may go down. I wouldn't miss Hull, they were poor at SMS, but they have competion in Cardiff.
  3. No I don't think I have contradicted myself. Whether now or a few months down the line isn't especially relevant to the point I'm making. However, I suspect Pochettino has been given certain assurances to the end of the season at least. I'm not saying she will sell either. How would I know. Just that there is a strong economic argument for sale.

    Wanyama

Morgan Schneiderlin is exceptional whoever he plays with. E.g. take a look at his performance stats on Saturday. And before you dismiss stats, not saying you will but just in case like, these back up what I saw with my own eyes. http://www.squawka.com/news/2014/02/03/83-tackle-success-the-real-star-behind-southamptons-dismantling-of-fulham/2014020364271?
  5. Does the 90 minute rule still apply? If so, then Chelsea can infiltrate our catchment area but the North London clubs shouldn't be able to.

    Wanyama

In games where the back four needs protecting play Wanyama. In games where we need to move the ball quickly play Cork. Vic was rusty and as my brother said after the match, Fulham let him have the ball because he either passed it sideways or lost possession. Fulham's central pair are no mugs but having Cork on second half was like having an extra man in midfield.
  7. Pochettino. Everything could unravel if he goes. From a business perspective there are compelling reasons to sell in the summer. Even if this should happen the club would surely be a more valuable asset with Pochettino and the better players in place.
  8. Good luck with the campaign.
  9. The uncertainty surrounding RL's position probably has had an impact on his form. In WC year what he really needs is certainty about where he's playing, to feel valued (he is certainly valued by his team mates and the fans) and to stay fit. He appears, also, to have been carrying an injury. When he went down off the ball on Saturday I thought he wasn't going to get back up so he probably still isn't 100%. Nonethelss, he did us proud again.

  12. Or he'll chin Tevez and we'll be back to square one.
  13. Interesting views on how the likes of Chelsea use their brand and the loan system to enhance the value of players that are not deemed good enough to play for the first team. It's possible Osvaldo's value will be enhanced by association with Juventus (as well as with the WC). If Juventus excercises it's option Saints make a reported £3m plus. If not, Saints may still benefit from the his association with Italy's premier club. That would be some consolation for having signed him. There is an opportunity cost of course to having £12.5m tied up on a flop, which money could have been spent on someone better.
  14. An early goal then keep the ball, will pile on the pressure. Desperate B@stards 0 - Saints 2.
  15. Need 4 strikers. If the right player isn't available now then it makes perfect sense to wait for the right player. It's the correct decision to move out Osvaldo. He's failed on and off the pitch and put us in this position of being short.
  16. Nothing cool about nutting people.
  17. You won't be watching the team, nor following the kids, nor catching up with the times...unless you catch up with the fixture list. It's tonight.
  18. Tickets I've seen are double that.
  19. Was reasonably pleased with the draw until I saw train fares from KX. Plus a bus service if it's on Sunday.
  20. Gallagher looks promising. Fitting that in a week when the £15m man gets himself suspended again, a young striker comes in and scores his first senior goal that'll make his week.
  21. I've signed it. Thanks for posting this link. More will sign if you bring it to their attention on the main board.
  22. Communications. For 12 months. That's funny. Maybe moron footballers is a Watford thing....of 7 years ago.... or maybe it was him. Even someone with a screw loose wouldn't appoint to its Board a Director who thinks all footballers are morons.
  23. http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/tony-yorke/38861-have-saints-learned-nothing-from-woodward-failure.php Article speaks for itself but a few points. The author seems like a funny bloke. He's a business correspondent. He thinks all footballers are "morons". That can't be right, surely. “But the fact remains, when you’re dealing with morons who don’t listen to outsiders – which is the norm at a football club (I know because I used to be a director at one of them) – then you’ve got no chance of succeeding.” And, “Sorry Saints fans, I have to interpret the decision-making of Leibherr in recent days as coherent as that of someone with a few loose screws whose currently residing in a Hampshire nuthouse.” He notes that Kreugar has a “quest” at Saints but doesn’t say what it is, only that: “I hope I prove to be wrong and Krueger succeeds with his quest. But I think my tenner is safe, regardless whatever tripe the Saints come up with to justify this latest move.”
  24. No offence intended to you at all but don't you just hate the word project being applied to a football club founded in 1885? A project is something with a finite life, a beginning, a middle and an end. Perhaps the "project" ended when Cortese went. Good riddance to "the project".
  25. Ok I acknowledge it's your view. He won't be stood down because if he needed to justify his decision he'd do so on the basis of Brown having got a slight touch on the ball. I think that would be spurious but I've made my points on that above. As for the views of players on the tackle, this from Fonte: “That’s another thing that we need to address because it’s becoming repetitive the mistakes against us,” said Fonte, perhaps indicating he feels not enough protection is being afforded to some of the players during matches.
