  1. They're still finishing below the team they left. If they don't win that final, I'm not sure a loser's medal would be much consolation, especially as we'd be in Europe while they're not. Lovren's lost his place in the National Team as well, due to the same attitude he showed when engineering his move away from us.
  2. Possibly Shaw/Schneiderlin
  3. Ah, that might make more sense!
  4. If it can occur in your own half, the only possible interpretation I can think of is that the free kick is taken from where the ball is kicked instead of where the player was offside!? Sound ridiculous to me, you could end up with an opposition free kick on the edge of your six yard box after the keeper's booted it... not to mention the cluster**** of the current interpretation of what is and isn't offside.
  5. I'm reasonably sure he'll still be here next season. At his age, the club has probably written off any resale value from him, so it's all about getting the best out of the latter stage of his career. It'll be down to form/fitness whether he's offered a new deal, probably a one year extension, and of course down to him whether he wants to stay here in that case.
  6. So Rosberg picked the wrong power setting at the start of the race and was significantly slower when Hamilton was trying to overtake. Hamilton was too aggressive in the overtake, Rosberg was too aggressive in covering it, racing incident, move on. Never mind that, congratulations to our new youngest ever GP Winner. Seriously impressive to come through and win like he did there.
  7. EVERY team can play whatif at the end of the season, perhaps more this season than any other It works the other way as well, how often are we going to come from behind for wins against Spurs and Liverpool in the same season? Or go through the last ten games of the season only losing one game? What if Forster had come back from injury and not instantly been back at the top of his game? Ultimately it doesn't matter, that IS what happened, and this is the season we've got.
  8. Incredible form the second half of the season, some fantastic wins along the way, putting to bed our longest losing streaks against teams, a record points total in the Prem era, and a record finishing position in the Prem era. On top of that, a final day up there with the best we've ever had, finishing above the current champions, Chelsea, above Liverpool, above West Ham, and maybe even above Man Utd, just three points off the Champions League spots. Once again we're going on a European tour. This season is one I'm going to remember for a long time
  9. Martina's really was the best goal for me this season.
  10. Other way round, our one was the first year where away goals didn't count and it's been that way since. The year before we'd have been in the final!
  11. There can't have been many worse days for Pompey fans
  12. What an end to a great season! That last 10 minutes as it filtered through that Stoke were winning was mad
  13. The reason I personally still have some respect for Morgan is that he properly knuckled down and put in one of his best seasons for us in that last season. Contrast that with Lovren, who threatened to go on strike. Lallana was sold, and so never got the chance to redeem himself a bit, and we'll never know if he would have carried it out when he was rumoured to have said he was never going to play for Saints again, of if he'd have played half heartedly, or if he'd have put the same effort in that Morgan did.
  14. Le Tissier had the ambition to win trophies, but he wanted to do that with Southampton. Ultimately, he didn't succeed in that, he didn't even get close, but he stuck it out and gave everything for Saints. He had more ambition for his own club than most of the mercenaries that play today have in their little toe.
  15. Ahahahaha... Someone on their forum trying to claim that Liverpool's titles are really theirs because Liverpool came about from Everton moving out of Anfield... If that's the case, we get Brazil's World Cups.
  16. What a goal!
  17. Yeah, have to say, respect to the officials for that one. Was a difficult decision to get right there, and they did.
  18. And yet, they're still seen as beneath us now, inferior. That is how far and how fast they've fallen, and how much we've grown. That's what it feels like to fall back and be overtaken by other teams, has to be stinging
  19. Have to admit, Schniederlin's fall has surprised me. Thought he was going to be annoyingly good at United. As it turns out, they could end up finishing the season below us.
  20. I like how some Everton fans think we don't realise they have a billionaire owner, and that might be a reason Koeman would go there. Irony. Also, isn't the £100M warchest they keep going on about just the extra money from the TV deal this season?
  21. Koeman has ALWAYS honoured his contracts in the past, it wasn't in any question he'd be here next season, but I'm actually more hopeful he'll be here for longer than that now.
  22. That's genuinely quite funny from Everton fans there. Utterly delusional. If Koeman's manager of Everton at the start of next season, I'll make a £50 donation to charity, forum's choice.
  23. So, win on Sunday, and we finish above Liverpool for the very first time. The last team we need to tick off the list.
