We don't really need to, I'll just start an 'Everton Takeover Saga' thread.
-
All the more reason that you should be questioning why you're spending so much on Koeman.
-
It'd be really funny if we announce a new manager before Everton do...
-
Most of the academy players that we would have been playing now instead bankrolled our first team.
-
To be fair, they were never going to live up to the standards of Barry Sanchez...
-
I wonder if the hold up has been caused by Koeman suddenly realising that Everton is in Liverpool...
-
It really is funny seeing so many of them desperate for some sort of validation
-
That's the problem other teams have with us They can throw money at us to try and weaken us, but at the moment, we're better than anyone else at actually spending that money.
-
Basically, they're viewed as a crap team by everyone except themselves. Now they're trying to get someone, anyone at all, other than themselves, to admit that they're a bit good, mostly justifying it by trophies that few people remember them winning, and having a billionaire shareholder that so far has shown similar financial nous to Mike Ashley. Probably comes from the inbuilt inferiority complex they have over the shadow they're in.
-
So, by that logic, we have a better squad than Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Liverpool? You're just making yourself look silly here.
-
Yes we did, I suggested changing it to "Southampton's"
-
My suggestion would be 'Southampton'
-
My advice, keep an eye on where the money is actually coming from. Portsmouth thought they had a rich owner once (and twice, and a third time, then there was that one that didn't exist...) Anyway, there's a short thread summarising all of that in The Lounge section of the forum.

Disappointing that it looks like we're losing him purely to a massive wage that we're not willing to compete with. Think it may have become a point of principle for Everton's new shareholder almost, in that he's paying whatever it takes to avoid his first choice turning him down, regardless of value. Especially disappointing as we've moved ahead of Everton in almost every other aspect over the last few years, both on the pitch and behind the scenes.
-
There will be a point where it would be cheaper for Koeman to buy out his own contract though.
-
Yeah, that was sloppy for him, normally he's a lot more subtle.
-
That's talking about Portugal's match against England.
-
That's like saying it's hypocritical to cheer when we win a match because we're upset when someone wins against us...
-
Or... back in the real world... Everton have thrown money at Koeman to take him off us, enough to put him in the top 10 paid managers in the world. After believing it was enough, thinking they've got him and bragging to the rafters, if it turns out it wasn't, if he turns them down and even that much money wasn't enough... You're saying you wouldn't want that? It may well be that that much money is enough, looks likely even. I know that if I was offered more than double my wage elsewhere I'd at least attend an interview. But like I said before, Esk over there is ITK from Everton's side, he doesn't know Koeman's intentions, and the interview was with Koeman's agent. May well be that they've agreed terms that Koeman's agent is happy to take to Koeman, but it's not done and dusted yet, and he's also still talking to us. We also know that Koeman is very happy here, would have Europa league football here next season, and would have lower expectations here with a better team. Also we know Koeman tends to be honourable about his contracts, money really isn't everything. Koeman may well go, but he's not gone just yet.
-
Hm, their ITK saying that it's not actually done and dusted yet then... Think he's over-played his hand a bit there, this isn't over yet.
-
If that's true, can you imagine the pressure he'll be under!? Everton fans aren't the most patient at the best of times, and he's already being looked at with disappointment over there...
-
Hm, looks like there was a meeting, but I'd be surprised if Koeman's agreed to move without talking to us and giving us a chance to give him a counter-offer.
-
Esk over there looks to be a genuine ITK, but he's an ITK from Everton's side, all his info is going to be through that lens, and he'll be no more ITK about Koeman's intentions than anyone else. Koeman himself has said all along that he'll at the very least honour his three year contract here. All the media buzz today has come from one tweet that has already been shown to be at least partially incorrect, as any meeting, if it did take place, certainly wasn't in Liverpool. I don't see that things are actually any different today compared to yesterday?
