  1. I wonder how Corp Ho is taking the news...
  2. Even at this stage I think a top half finish is way beyond us, much like earlier in the season we're highly likely to be playing catch-up on the teams currently around us, let alone anyone further up the table. Clearly anything's possible, you only have to look at what Norwich have done in the last 6-8 weeks or so, but there's already a group from Norwich upwards who have got a 7-point cushion over us just as we enter a two-month period of very difficult games. I know that in my head, it's more a case of supporter's syndrome, where a few good results and suddenly anything is possible lol. (and like I said, a few bad results will send me right back the other way...)
  3. Personally, I consider him the greatest player ever. One of my bucket list items is to see him play live.
  4. One good thing from the weekend's results is that we can no longer be bottom at Christmas this season, even if every result goes against us (which I don't think it will). I'm feeling very optimistic now, even as far as thinking top half might be a possibility by the end of the season. No doubt I'll be fearing relegation again if we slip up when we should win...
  5. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-20630934 Already starting to find alternatives then... Don't Portsmouth give tickets away every week to the Navy? Seems they can't even give their tickets away now...
  6. Used to love watching GamesMaster, and still watch The Sky at Night now. RIP
  7. No worries, done.
  8. Close between Cork and Puncheon I reckon. Honourable mention for Shaw.

  11. Being the head scientist doesn't make you good at PR http://www.hawking.org.uk/life-in-the-universe.html Hawking's views cover things better than I ever could I reckon.
  12. He jumped up and tipped it off the head of a Saints player rushing in. No question.
  13. Not so sure about that. It's probable that Mars and Earth both came from the same accretion disk around the same star, and so both had similar starting conditions. It could be that life is limited to this solar system, and that's without actually finding life on Mars yet. We simply have no way of telling without actually finding something that proves otherwise.
  14. FAO Neil Allen: http://www.saintsfoundation.co.uk I know it might seem alien to you, but this is a club that doesn't steal money from charities and then leach the awesome effort of its own fans to restore some of its own shattered reputation.
  15. Suspect he's referring to this: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2012-09/11/curiosity-bacteria-mars Pretty huge mistake to be fair. That said, one bloke getting excited by (then) unverified findings is vastly different to the organisation as a whole announcing something. I don't blame them for wanting to verify, especially in light of how difficult it is to eliminate contamination from Earth.
  16. He's hardly gonna say that he'd never consider playing in Italy again is he? Complete non-story.

  18. Shaw. Kept Snodgrass in his pocket the entire game.
  19. Surely they need 2010 of them?
  20. So in other words, if a judge saw how much the stadium was worth to the trust compared to how much they're trying to pay for it, the judge would question why they're getting it so cheaply.
  21. Part of what helps Shaw is that he holds his position out left better than Fox. I used to lose count of the number of times Fox had been drawn in to the centre of the pitch and left a great honking gap for their right winger. Shaw holding that position, combined with Lallana helping out much better than he was earlier this season has turned a glass cannon (Fox CAN deliver a good ball) into a solid base we can work from.
  22. Fantastic performance, best I've seen us play in a long long time. Gaston was immense, both in getting back and breaking up Newcastle in midfield and in providing an attacking outlet that they just couldn't deal with. Great to keep a clean sheet. Officiating was abysmal, even worse than when we played Leeds a few years ago and managed to win 1-0 somehow a few years ago.
  23. I understand where you're coming from, but part of what makes this interesting is the difficulty and debate that results from having to pick just one. Plus there's always the thread discussing it to give honourable mentions.
  24. That's nothing, even the ball boy managed to nutmeg Cisse
  25. Hard to call, Ramirez or Puncheon I reckon, honourable mention for Gazzaniga.
