You might not see why, and to be honest niether do I, but regardless of that the FFP regulations don't allow 'non-football' income to be counted. However, it's also the case that not all outgoings are counted either, for example money put into youth development or stadium construction. So additional income isn't counted by FFP can be put into outgoings that aren't counted and free up income that is counted to be put towards the outgoings that are counted. No doubt that there will be arguments and probably court cases over whether certain income streams should be counted, but I can't see this ending cleanly.

I can't be certain, this is just my own speculation, but I'd guess the beginnings of this came from Clive Woodward.

According to SSN, he's had a scan and it's just concussion. Obviously still not great, but nothing compared to what it could have been.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15176078.stm Think we unfortunately might be looking at a contender for worst injury tonight, apparently some reporter at the match tweeted that his neck was broken. Obviously that hasn't been confirmed yet, but all the best of luck to him in his recovery.

They have two smaller clubs.

That would break European competition law, there'll have to be more than one broadcaster that they sell rights to.

After 10 games is when the table starts to take shape. Most of the time, you can weed out teams in a false position by looking at goal difference, as it usually turns out pretty accurate for predicting finishing positions, so I'm very VERY happy looking at our performance so far. Not to mention St Mary's has never been more of a fortress, and due to scoring every game, teams have to score at least twice before they can even THINK about beating us... Adkins obviously knows what to say to keep the team motivated when leading at half time as we've won a silly number of games in a row when leading at half time. Our subs always seem to make an impact, either through scoring, or getting assists, or shutting the game down, and we never seem to give up. Even in the two games we've lost we might have got a point just through keeping going right to the end. Our squad is deep, we seem to be able to change players in and out without disrupting the cohesion of the team. The one area I'd like to see us improve is defence. We don't keep as many clean sheets as we'd like, and teams tend to get a few easy chances against us that we might have been cutting out last season (albeit against weaker opposition). That said, I'd far prefer us to play attacking football and maybe concede a few more that we might otherwise.

If we're going to do this, we'll do it RIGHT. After 6 August, Saints v Leeds, Middlesbrough v Pompey; Gap: 2 After 13 August, Barnsley v Saints, Pompey v Brighton; Gap: 5 After 16 August, Ipswich v Saints, Pompey v Reading; Gap: 5 After 20 August, Sainst v Millwall, Bristol City v Pompey; Gap: 7 After 27 August, Leicester v Saints, Pompey v Cardiff; Gap: 6 After 10 September, Saints v Nottingham Forest, West Ham v Pompey; Gap: 9 After 17 September, Saints did not play, Hull v Pompey; Gap: 9 After 18 September, Saints v Birmingham, Pompey did not play; Gap: 12 After 24 September, Burnley v Saints, Pompey v Blackpool; Gap: 10 After 27 September, Saints did not play, Pompey v Peterborough; Gap: 10 After 28 September, Cardiff v Saints, Pompey did not play; Gap: 10 After 1 October, Saints v Watford, Leeds v Pompey; Gap: 13

Ah. It was all because Pompey are tired. That quality over quantity approach is working wonders I see.

THIS! That would have been one of the best goals I've ever seen live.

It's one password, so depends entirely on the strength of the password being used. If he's used 'saintsfc' or 'password' then it's entirely possible someone could guess it. Like I already said though, I can't believe no one at SSN would have talked to him about tweets he's made, especially so considering the subject, and that would mean that any tweets that weren't him would be revealed pretty quick.
-
That certainly is Le Tissier's Twitter account. He's talked about the match he's going to be covering on a Saturday before, as well as it being confirmed by his fellow SSN presenters on Twitter. Also, do you really think no one would have mentioned they were following him on twitter, or talked to him about something he'd tweeted at SSN? It'd have come out that it was a fake account pretty quickly a long time ago by Ed Chamberlain or another presenter saying something about it (and stopping following him). That said, this is just a personal dispute being played out in public. Le Tissier, for what he's done in the past, will always be a legend to the fans. Le Tissier, despite not liking Cortese, is still a fan and will always want Saints to win. Cortese will be chairman for the forseeable future, and also wants Saints to win, and is the one in a position to do something about it. Saints don't really come into it here, except for both parties being so heavily linked with the club. Both still are completely behind the club itself, it's just something they have to sort out between themselves.

Not to mention higher ticket prices and attendances that are ACTUALLY higher than last year.

The Daily Mail reporting annoys me... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2042935/Arsenal-2-Olympiakos-1-Early-goals-secure-victory-Gunners.html "Oxlade-Chamberlain provided yet more evidence of why he was Wenger’s most expensive acquisition of the summer at £12million" "In Oxlade-Chamberlain they at least discovered a player with the potential to become another Arsenal favourite" He's played all of what? 3-4 hours for them so far? Been there a matter of weeks, and there's not one mention of Saints, not one, not even just putting 'from Southampton' after the price. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2043055/Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain-makes-history-Arsenal-win.html They also have an entire article on him, also without mentioning us. It almost feels like it's deliberate, it would have take all of two words to mention where he's spent 99% of his career.

We might have slipped up the last two games, but everyone else has missed their chance to punish us.
-
Stayed top, created plenty of chances, never gave up, and only went down to a couple of sloppy goals (including one after we should have had a penalty by the sound of it)... That said, we need to tighten up away from home. A win against Watford is vital now. If we manage to win and push on again over the next couple of games against Derby and West Ham, it's from the top of the league and will put us in a very VERY strong position.
-
Come ON! NEVER GIVE UP!
-
Goal in the next 10 minutes and we're right back into this...
-
-
After we might have had a penalty by the sound of it...
-
It puts pressure on us, but it's a good type of pressure, with the awesome payoff of going clear at the top if we win. It certainly seemed to help against Birmingham!
-
While at the same time sending them from 23rd in the table to 24th
-
I wonder what odds you could get on McClaren and Cotteril swapping clubs in the next few days...
-
Massive opportunity for us tomorrow now. Cardiff have a few injuries, and with our form, I can see us doing well as long as we put in a good performance.
-
What a perfect night! I'll say it again, we always do well when we're not playing!
