So, forever in the record books... the first away win at the Amex... is Palace
-
Little bit happier with the point at Burnley now!
-
Aye, I guess, still would have preferred the draw there. Still, I guess it might hurt them more in the long run if it keeps Cotteril in a job. On to the next game, hopefully we'll play a bit better.
-
A point away, still top of the league despite not playing to our best, pretty happy with that. Pompey nicking all three is annoying though.
-
It's the only game playing and directly affects our league position? Would be the same whatever the names of the teams in that situation.
-
We always seem to do well on days we're not playing!
-
Actually, it's comments by your flawless, whiter than white, rich, altruistic benefactors who have nothing but good things intended for Pompey that suggest that. Along the lines of 'we are debt free' I believe it was... Besides, focusing on that one tiny afterthought at the end completely misses the point he was trying to make. Even you have to admit that the motives for CSI to buy you can be questioned. Now stop trolling by trying to derail a pretty decent debate just because you don't like the subject or the direction it's headed.

Not sure I ever posted it on here, but I remember being gutted when SISU fell through and they ended up going for Coventry instead... I also remember confidently predicting to a mate that the Dutch Experiment playing the kids would see us playing like Arsenal and being a joy to watch

Whichever way you look at it, that is a shocking thing for a chairman to say.

Apparently proposed move is a loan til January with a fee agreed for a permenant move. They're not sure whether the paperwork went through on time, might not be confirmed (or otherwise) until tomorrow morning. Part of me does find it quite funny he might have to play a few more months with the youth team.
-
Still hasn't been confirmed by QPR that the paperwork went through yet, which is a strange one as they have confirmed for other signings. Reckon it must have been right on the deadline.

Former Champions League player on loan. He hasn't endeared himself to Celtic fans but could be he needs a different club, like we've seen with Puncheon. (ok, Puncheon maybe isn't the best example...) Loan is a perfect way to give him a chance and we could have a good player on our hands.

Heh, very slightly, more down to the heat than anything, but I'm a fan of roller coasters, so... I also went on the Skycoaster: I couldn't remember the price off hand, it was all booked years ago. I just looked up a quick price for if I was going at short notice for the benefit of the mastercard ad style post. Indeed I have I've loved every minute of our rise, and 'tis slightly annoying that I missed the moment we made it to the top. Of course the challenge now is to stay there during our away tours coming up, to see if we can end up being remembered as one of the great teams in history. Back to Saints, I just hope me coming back won't change our fortunes, because it'd be bloody expensive to get back out there! Hopefully we'll be able to combine this good start with our ususal route of improving as the season progresses.

Return flight out to Orlando: £1600. 21 Day Disney Ticket: £275. Mobile Data Charges: £5 per megabyte. Being in the Hollywood Studios park, in a Saints kit, and running into a dyed in the wool, been a fan all his life, fully decked out in kit, supporter from Leeds: Priceless. Having a random person see me in my Saints shirt and come up to me to make sure I knew what the score had been: Also priceless. What a start to the season we've had! Kind of feels like I've returned to a parallel universe where England are suddenly good at Cricket and Saints are on a 10 league game winning streak, but I'm not going to complain Sounds like we should have been wrapping games up a bit more comfortably than we have been, but the luck has helped us out with that so far. Hopefully we can improve on our closing out of games so we don't need so much luck. It safe to say that hopes, and even expectations to a certain extent, have been raised a fair bit by our start!

Apparently, according to Cotterill, all the players are 'knackered' after their exausting trip out to the US. It's ok though, because they'll probably miss their final friendly due to their flight back from the US being cancelled.
-
That's interesting. Pretty sure it was after the Saints Bournemouth game that they first started the South Coast Club thingy.
-
Really good game to watch. De Ridder was basically making fun of their players and it looks like he already has a great understanding with Butterfield, Cork showed great awareness in the middle. Fonte and Seabourne were solid at the back until Martin came on for Harding and Seabourne was pushed out to left back, looked like they caught us while Martin was still cold. We certainly didn't look like we were against a better team tonight. Doesn't feel like Oxo is going anywhere as if he was we wouldn't be playing him in a pre season friendly, after all he might have, uh, got injured...

I'd imagine Kelvin will be first choice, at least to start with, but I'd like to see Bart start to break through and challenge for a first team place this season.
-
Slightly disappointing to lose, but at least it sounded like a good run out and an entertaining game
-
That's actually quite funny
-
all draws go to a penalty shoot out, 2 points for the winner of the shootout, 1 for the loser.
-
Don't think any of them would be in the first 11 now.
