  1. Huddersfield deserved it over the season, considering how many points ahead they finished.... But Bournemouth deserved it on the night. Ref should have sent two Huddersfield Town players off and their last goal was after the half time whistle should have gone in extra time. And their goal on half time was after the whistle should have gone!
  2. Great penalty!
  3. Can't see Bournemouth winning now. Long long way back...
  4. Can't believe how nervous I am watching as a neutral! (Ok, maybe I slightly want Bournemouth to win for the derbies next season... and the almost guaranteed 6 points) Can't think what I'd be like if it was Saints playing.
  5. Will be passing through Southampton http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13391986 Also, there's a chance for the general public to be a bearer. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-23951172-thousands-given-chance-to-run-in-olympic-torch-relay.do
  6. The cheeky gits have stolen my idea https://twitter.com/#!/the_saints/lists In any case there might be a few links extra in there for those of you interested.
  7. New contract for Jaidi. Good news I reckon, He's earned it.

    Antti Niemi

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antti_Niemi_(ice_hockey) Maybe it's the name that makes a great keeper One of the best players we've ever had... they say a good keeper is worth 10 points a season... Antii was worth more than that to Saints I'm sure.
  9. Threads merged Have to admit I thought we'd know what it was about by now, have the echo managed to annoy the club again?
  10. You know... Considering he's not saying this is huge news and is almost downplaying it... I'm almost expecting us to sign Messi
  11. I suspect the £10M offered by Arsenal would have been £5M up front and the rest add ons. Still a huge amount of money, but less than we want (or need!) for a player so highly rated. It does feel awfully good to be in such a position of financial power.
  12. Read the OP £15M isn't what has been offered for him, it's what we were apparently asking for him. No one has been prepared to match that (yet).
  13. Someone said in the last couple of pages that they'd been pushed back by the judge's previous case taking longer than expected, so that could be the reason.
  14. Great news that the media is swarming around a move to several different clubs. We want rid, and this will only push the price up.
  15. All talk of Owen being seen/already having agreed deals/going anywhere is ridiculous at the moment. Don't you think he might have bigger things on his mind? Like a Champions League Final?
  16. Not soon enough!

    Now what ?

the analogue signal gets turned off next year anyway! I guess MotoGP and F1 will keep me going through the summer. I would say cricket but it seems like that's just going to be painful to listen to Hampshire this year.

    Now what ?

It'll be awesome next Sunday, watching five teams fight it out to avoid two relegation places, and watching the Playoffs will be interesting. Then there's the last hurrah of the Champion's League Final with English interest.... Then boredboredboredboredstillboredbored....
  19. Reckon they're more likely to be battling a second relegation than bouncing back. On a related note, I notice Poyet is favourite to replace Grant
  20. Never mind Saints, I've won the champions league with Eastleigh (admittedly on FM10... still working on FM11) In any case, we have owners and management that want us in the Champions League, and have already turned several years of decline into an awesome positive feeling around the club. Given the financial backing we have, I'm certainly not going to say it's impossible for us to reach the Champions League. I admit I don't know exactly how we're going to do it. It might be that plans have to change based on whether financial fair play proves successful or not. No doubt Cortese will make mistakes, as he already has, but he's shown that he learns incredibly quickly, and has thrown himself headlong into trying to make Saints one of the biggest clubs in the country. For now, sat in the Championship, still happy about an awesome promotion season, I'm going to sit here and enjoy the ride, and be content with the possibility that he just might succeed.
  21. Mack is about the only poster I've ever seen that gets more coherent the more irate he gets...
  22. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2359827,00.html Adkins new contract.
  23. I'm pretty sure he'll still be here next season, because he's still got two years left on his contract. Whether we'll be able to tempt him to stay longer will depend on whether we're anywhere near the Prem after next season.
  24. The way I see it, there is one way in which we are ALREADY one of the biggest clubs in the country. The Academy. Think of the team we might have had if we'd had the money we have now a few years ago. If we're going to have any chance at all, that'll be the way, and the owners obviously think the same, by the way they're investing so much in the facilities, as well as (so far) keeping hold of the best players we've recently produced.
