  1. Tell them it’s not enough, presumably.
  2. I was more angling that the only reason Chelsea would refuse to loan us players would be if they saw us as a threat. In any case, as good as loaning players from Chelsea has been for us, with the new restrictions coming in on outgoing loans from the end of next season, it's not a route we should rely on for players, regardless of Chelsea's attitude towards us. EDIT: Doesn't apply to domestic loans.
  3. Chelsea will send us players on loan if they think it'll be good for the player's development, which would obviously seem to be the case for Broja. If they're that worried that Saints are going to turn the players head enough to lose them, and as a result refuse to loan a player to us, that probably means we're doing something right.
  4. Chelsea are already going to refuse to sell us anyone they don't want to.
  5. Broja is here because we wanted him here, and because Chelsea wanted him here for this loan. The suggestion that a few comments to the media that he's enjoying it here and might want to stay longer, that they could lead to sanctions such as cancelling the loan, or lead to Chelsea stopping dealing with us... well that sounds pretty ridiculous to me.
  6. What we should do in terms of the club's relationship with Chelsea is one thing, but that has no bearing on the fact that there's zero chance we can be sanctioned for tapping up while the player is contracted to us.
  7. Tapping up doesn’t really apply in this case, he’s on loan to us and in effect we currently hold his registration, so there’s no unauthorised contact between club and player.

He does, although you'd have to say he does without much enthusiasm. Unfortunately for him it's not a popular position among his supporters. Donald Trump booed by supporters as he admits having COVID booster jab | US News | Sky News There does seem to be a Red/Blue divide in uptake of vaccines in the USA, although age seems to be just as big a divide in age looking at the numbers. The biggest divide on vaccination isn’t race or income but party — and the divide is growing - The Washington Post

Sort of, but it's not quite as simple as that. For any individual that gets infected, Omicron has proved to be less deadly than Delta. Being unvaccinated still massively increases the risk posed by Covid, but Omicron poses less of a risk to an unvaccinated person than Delta to an unvaccinated person. The USA's problem, as you've pointed out, is the lower rates of vaccination, and attitudes towards restrictions, which isn't helped by the reduced risk at an individual level posed by Omicron. They've hampered efforts to curb Covid, and that combined with the massively increased infectivity of Omicron (further increased by the lower vaccination rates) means that in the USA, across the population, Omicron is proving to be as deadly as Delta was, and unfortunately is likely to get worse before it gets better. What it does show is how important the vaccination programme is. Also that the response to Omicron here was NOT a simple decision. Considering the fatigue against restrictions, and Omicron's ability to spread despite restrictions, the massive vaccine drive and booster programme was probably the key measure that's kept Omicron under control here, so far at least.

In those numbers, no, those are based on recorded cause of death. The reason this isn’t done for the daily figures is that an official cause of death takes too long to be useful, by the time the numbers would be up to date, it’d be far too late to base any action on them. Using deaths within 28 days has proved accurate enough to guide decisions on restrictions and other measures within a timeframe that means they can make a bigger difference in saving lives.
  11. Romeu probably didn’t even realise Grealish had done anything
  12. With VAR now, you’re not relying on the lino making the correct call, so playing the offside trap is far more reliable. We probably ran the numbers on it and found it was giving us the best chance of defending free kicks from those areas. Remains to be seen whether we’ll need to change going forward, but that’s the nature of football that tactics evolve as counters spring up.
  13. Quite the effort by Saints then, to have faced that and come away with a deserved point!
  14. The free kick tactic has worked really well for us, but City’s tactic of sending runners offside while the target of the free kick runs from deeper is very repeatable, feels like that offside tactic will quickly become less effective now.
  15. Only if it beats JWP’s free kick for goal of the month! Two ridiculously good goals in two games we’ve seen.
  16. I was there! Itchen/Kingsland corner with a perfect view of how much it swerved!
  17. Toss up between Gabbiadini vs West Ham or Adams vs Man City for me, probably Adams. EDIT: Martina vs Arsenal in the conversation too! We’ve had some cracking first goals over the years!
  18. Fantastic performance and result, might even have won on another day. Got the benefit of two VERY close decisions on VAR. Unbeaten against this Man City team is no mean feat this season. Salisu immense. Just immense.

I'm sure that's happened too to a certain extent too, based on what any particular author is attempting to do, but you need a better example than that. You're comparing misrepresented data about what's actually occurred with a worst case estimate for a scenario, where the conditions for that scenario never actually occurred.

Guessing that's based on this one, or at least is using the same or very similar data; Factors associated with deaths due to COVID-19 versus other causes: population-based cohort analysis of UK primary care data and linked national death registrations within the OpenSAFELY platform - The Lancet Regional Health – Europe It's yet another example of cherry picking data out of context to give a false impression of Covid being less serious. The 17,300 figure competely ignores all the people who wouldn't have died had they not caught Covid. Stepping back for a second, the fact that there are at least that many people that have died despite otherwise being in perfect health as far as the NHS are concerned, no other factors such as being overweight, age not being a factor, no heart or lung issues... that Covid was enough completely by itself to kill people like that... it only sounds like a small number because the overall massive impact of Covid has desensitised us to a large extent.
  21. Looks like most of it stems back to this tweet; Seems like he might be one of their better ITKs judging by the reaction, but absolutely no idea on that myself. Guess Saints and Broja’s tweets today have added a bit of fuel to the fire too.
  22. For what it’s worth, Chelsea fans seem to be worried something is happening. Hopefully they’re correct!

  24. We've played worse than that against better opposition and got better results. At least we got that free kick out of the game. Gets better every time I see it.
  25. No supporter of ANY team has said that!
