Matt and his family will be at the game as well - so that will be at least 7 in the stripes plus hopefully a few more who will buy their own tickets and either see us in Kittys or at the ground. Remember we are gathering behind the goal at the Milton Road end of the ground from now on.

How on earth can Pompey sign two players from a Premier League side when they are under a transfer embargo? Can anyone from the football league explain this because it looks like breaking the rules to me. Or maybe the football league are complicit in it. Any of them been to Pakistan lately?

Maybe Cortese had this in mind all along - would explain the lack of transfer activity and would not leave a new manager in any worse position than Pards. With the 25 player rule in the Prem and the filter down effect that will cause surely there will be loan players available to us to supercharge our promotion push? Also why sign players on contracts who are good enough to get us out of L1 but might not fit the bill for a second promotion? There might be some longer term thinking going on here. Feel sorry for Pards and Cortese needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat with the next manager - the likes of Paul Hart will not cut it with the fans or the players - but loan signings might have been part of the Masterplan. The timing fits.

I will just fast forward through this game if you don't mind. Bit ****ed off about meekly surrendering the only cup we can win this season and Barnards red though. Nicola Cortese - over to you for this weeks big Good News story - you do have one don't you?

Initially I thought O' Neill would be the only one that would take us forward as better than Pardew, but am softening on Zola. I am pretty confident a manager of his profile would command the required respect of the players - and it is vital the existing players swing right in behind the new guy immediately.

24 hours on and no new manager. Every day that passes disspates the goodwill I feel towards NC. Every day that passes without definitive action makes the sacking look worse. Of course, Martin O Neill might be revealed tomorrow - or someone of that ilk - and everything will be fine. It looks more and more like the Luggy scenario every day. Some craphead pipes up they don't like the managers style and the chairman fires the bullet. Needs to be some good news soon.

Was O' Neill at the Orient game? If he was it's a very strong clue. Also Cortese will clearly be looking for a long term replacement capable of taking us to, and keeping us in the Prem - that is the plan after all. O' Neill really fits and would be the only appointment that the majority of fans would see as an improvement on Pardew. Then again it could be Burley....

Risky decision by Cortese but could turn out to be a masterstroke. Feel for AP - was doing a decent job and I felt we were headed in the right direction, but never looked like Champions under him, ever. The next appointment will be pivotal and needs to be someone of O' Neills calibre, someone who the players will respect and swing in behind. If it's Burley I'm packing it in.

Another good turnout last night for the Wellington game - 10 I counted. 4 FREE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THE ADELAIDE GAME. Saturday 18th September 7:30 kick off. I can't make that one sadly, but hoping Bright Spark will be able to go. As usual first 4 on here to claim a ticket gets one (or two if you're coming with a partner/friend). Need a win very very soon or Pardews nuts are going to get roasted. The players need to deliver for Pards, let alone Markus. The Italians have always been bloody useless at paperwork, too busy pinching girls arses and putting reverse gears in tanks. Hopefully we can be equally slow in sending the payment.
