  1. Spain will have the ball in the middle third of the pitch for the majority of the game. When the Dutch win it back they will spend long periods rolling it along their back four. Don't expect a thriller. 1-0 to someone probably an erratic Jabulani off someones arse and a scabby 1-0 win. Maybe 0-0 after 120 and penalties. Ho hum. This has been a sh1t World Cup and I hope Africa and their ****ing Vuvuzelas never see it again in my lifetime. It will get the final it deserves.
  2. I left the UK partly because I could see the writing on the wall. But don't be fooled - the rest of the world is on the precipice too. Whatever you might read, Australia is on the brink too. Just chill and enjoy the football and try to get by. Not much any of us can do about it, so no point worrying about how to fix it. And none of us are heading for the mountains with soup cans just yet.
  3. Next week rolls ever closer. Come on you HMRC, drop the bomb on the bastards.
  4. First side to win while simultaneously sending half the world into a coma with their boring tika taka football? Come on Holland, for the good of the game.
  5. Top ref from the Worlds leading League - good decision FIFA.
  6. Check this open letter out from Craig (Predator) Johnson to Sepp Blatter. Totally ****ing nails him for the Jabulani. http://www.docshare.com/doc/223643/CJ-Mr-Blatter-Letter-re-Jabulani-Ball-July-20
  7. Can't get excited about this final. Looks good on paper, but will probably see Spain playing keep ball until Holland manage to get it so they can have a turn knocking it along the back a few times. Both teams will close down relentlessly displaying boundless energy but as soon as they get the ball it will be back to 'attacking' at walking pace. Just when it starts to get interesting at 0-0 with a few minutes left the ball will probably swerve in off Torres' arse following a lucky lotto Jabulani punt by Alonso and finish 1-0 to Spain. Cue the pundits jizzing their pants about wonderful Spanish football. I respect their success, just find it all very boring indeed. Hope the Dutch kick the boring ****ers up in the air early doors while the ref is still in 'come here for a finger wagging' mode.
  8. Statistics are showing that this is the worst World Cup ever for pass completion, ball control and shooting accuracy. Are the players just not as good as in the past or is it the ball? In my opinion FIFA have made a massive **** up endorsing the oversized power ball that is Adidas's Jabulani. And if Germany win the World Cup Adidas will ****ing love it.
  9. Hawkeye needs to come in without question. No-one gives a stuff about Hackney Marshes but at professional levels of the game it is a no brainer. If there is no room for technology in football how come Adidas get to reinvent the football every 4 years?
  10. Put Gerrard in that team, and get them playing as a team and they would have done no worse than the shower of ****e we sent.
  11. You should try Australian punditry. ****ing clueless would be kind.
  12. Schweinsteiger looks a better player than Sean Wright Phillips.
  13. I think they'll use eight of the 19 retained crews across the quarters, semis, play off and final. So Webb has a chance, and on merit is probably the sensible choice. but this is FIFA so they'll give it to the ref who is most likely to give the result Blatter and Platini want, once they know who is in the final.
  14. Been away from the thread for a while getting a life and enjoying the World Cup. Looking forward to the final on Sunday 11th and then I believe we have the Revenue appeal against Pompeys farcical CVA on 15th. Plenty of fun in store......
  15. Tevez must have been 5 yards offside for the first - yet another refereeing/lino **** up of which Blatter must be really proud. The giant screens showed the goal, the Mexicans knew it was offside - a view reinforced when the goal was replayed in the stadium. That's why they made such a huge fuss and surrounded the linesman. THEN - did you notice Heinze pointing to the screen - he could only have been saying that the officials are not allowed to use it to influence their decision and that the goal must stand. What a f@cking farce - BLATTER PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR @RSE AND SORT IT OUT YOU CLOWN!!!
  16. Capello should go - he got the squad wrong, and the teams wrong, and the substitutions and tactics wrong. Anyone who consistently plays Heskey and rates SWP is unsuitable for the post of England Manager. On the day the Germans thoroughly deserved their win but the disallowed Lampard goal would have made it a different game as Germany were able to hit us on the break - a tactic Loew had highlighted as the key to beating us . So Blatter should be tendering his resignation as well - this is the World Cup, the biggest Showcase for the global game, and the disallowance of Lampards goal and the awarding of Tevez's in the next game makes a mockery of the whole thing.
  17. Kaka has been very poor at this world cup - past his best. Robinho we know all about from his sulks at Citeh. Maicon is cumbersome and frequently clubs crosses off target. Fabiano might be anything, but is given the benefit of the doubt for now. Ronaldo is obviously a class act when he stops showing off but the rest are over rated. Neither side is particularly special in the way Holland were in the seventies.
  18. States were hopeless once Altidore went off. Seemed to lack belief for the whole of extra time. Ghana's timewasting didn't help, and for that I hope they get stuffed in the next round.
  19. Pretty poor show really. Too much wayward shooting, too much safety first football, too much trumpet noise and a seriously rubbish ball. Topped off by too much diving and timewasting, too many referees falling for the theatrics and half empty stadiums. South Africa was the wrong choice and Adidas/FIFA need their arses kicking over the ball fiasco.
  20. Will be a close one for sure. Hopefully we can edge it 5-1.
  21. Two poor sides big on reputation small on actual talent.
  22. Time to deliver Lampard.
  23. Pretty much how I would go, although a bit of pace up front might be handy. So maybe try Defoe in the second half when the Slovenians get a bit tired so he can feed off Lennon - his team mate. Rooney needs to be on his toes to make sure he isn't the one standing aside as the Lennon-Crouch-Defoe club combo would make appeal. And throw Milner on for Barry if things get desperate - he shoots like a cannon.
  24. Cameron finishes what Thatcher started with the Unions or its the 70's all over again, only much much worse. And if he doesn't the country goes to hell in a handbasket.
  25. Domenech should have walked years ago. He is clearly a negative force in French football. The fact that the FFA who appointed him, and continue to back him in the face of overwhelming evidence that France are rubbish under him, tells you all you need to know about French arrogance.
