  1. Just read the quotes attributed to Nick taken from the Ugly website on the Trust AGM thread, and if that is the whole story then it is a concern.
  2. Sorry - I can't make a 900 mile round trip midweek to pick up tickets - guess I'm just a plastic then....
  3. Sorry, left this a few days so hopefully the fuss would die down, but anyway. You've stated this a couple of times. No not everyone who wanted a ticket got one - I didn't so stop making generalisations again.
  4. Pretty sure that a freephone number won't be freephone for calls originating outside of the UK. They don't want you ringing in on it as it will cost them money rather than making some income on the 0845 number I guess tey have asked you to use.
  5. Sorry the bloke is just pure scum. He has shown no remorse for sexually assaulting that student & then punching her when she told him where to go, and the fact that he is a repeat offender just shows he can't & won't learn. Can't believe for one minute Markus would allow someone like that our club but if he did come, that would be it for me until he left. Rasiak-9-, have you seen how many convictions this guy has got? Frankly football should just ban him.
  6. CB, You are totally ignoring the affects of a few PL clubs going into administration will have on players & agents. Immediately after the change you are right - agents & players will be greedy and continue to go for the best deal. But once Pimpley, Hull, Blackburn, Bolton and West Ham have all gone into administration & maybe one or two been liquidated, it is a wholly different matter. They will re-adapt because the risks will then be there. In your world, everyone keeps spending more & more money with no consequence. That's the same fantasy world that Peter Storrie was in.
  7. The one that made me laugh was not the pole vault (that has happened a few times) but the Spanish Decathlete whose javelin broke up after he threw it! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/athletics/8869431.stm Have never seen that happen! (thought javelins were one piece anyway)
  8. He was the only one I could find with 16 u-21 caps. Roberto Baronio is ginger - but he's got 25 or so u-21 caps, as stack of other age group caps & 1 full Italian cap. FFS can't be that many ginger Itai's
  9. It makes the buying club want to speculate more - however you've ignored that the selling club will then demand a much higher (maybe 100%) of the transfer fee up front. The players/agent will also be more careful about who they sign for as a £30k pw contract is not worth it if the player never gets paid on time & then eventually receives x pence in the pound in settlement. There are 3 parties that make up any transfer - and getting rid of the FCR means that 2 out of 3 have to be much more careful. You've only considered the one party who can be more cavalier in that situation.
  10. Fair enough - but what happened on that day should warrant Wednesday being a Cat C club, shouldn't it?
  11. ok - the reports I'd heard were that it was the Wednesday fans on pitch, assaulting Palace players and forcing them to escape through the Palace end having cut off their route to the tunnel. But I wasn't there & haven't seen any tv evidence so don't know exactly what happened.
  12. Umm enlighten me DBP, what exactly did Palace do to deserve what happened other than supporting their team to save themselves from relegation & relegate Wednesday? I wasn't at the game so only have knowledge from the press coverage & my mates version of events. (my memory may well be hazy on this as I can't remember what they were supposed to have done)
  13. No I wasn't - I forgotten that incident! The incident I was talking about took place downstairs about 20 minutes before kick off - but I think it was the same steward involved - he was a complete k**b and was looking for a fight himself.
  14. Mate of mine was in the Palace end for the last game of last season - he definately wouldn't agree with you! TBF when I've met them they've been fine.
  15. Fair enough - I'd driven down from Edinburgh for that one - tried to pop in the only pub near the ground but it was full so got turned away. Good job too as had to fight through 2 foot of snow on the way back up the A1. Luckily an hour after we went through they closed it so missed on a night out in Newcastle (so possibly not so lucky).
  16. Bit moody at Leeds? The closest thing to trouble was one of the Leeds stewards decided to go face to face with one of our youth after he gave him a gentle ribbing. Mind you the steward had a face & nose that looked like he'd already done 15 rounds with Tyson in the not to distant past!
  17. What had Barcelona been using the Pompey method of forming accounts - ignore any bills that fell down the back of the sofa and now they've found them?
  18. Indeed, and it seems that the papers are now starting to cotten on that money is still flooding out through the doors.
  19. Would agree with that although I would add that if he was responsible for the Silverspoons issue & still owes people money like.... ... then I would suggest (& pure supposition on my part) that maybe the club does not want anything to do with someone who appears to be ripping off fellow Saints fans whilst supposedly representing them through the Saints Trust. If that is the case, and I said if, then if I were in NI's shoes then I would be slightly more worried about the fact that I appeared to rip off some fellow Saints fans and try to sort that out rather than be whinging that the club won't sell him a season ticket. Maybe I'm wrong but I think the priorities are slightly out of kilter here.
  20. Encouraging reports tonight - it seems that Carter will add something (when he's fit). Particularly encouraged that our young centre back partnership held up - composed is never a word used when Ollie was around. Decent result given Charlton & Watford have both lost there, a clean sheet to boot & 7-8 regulars to come back into the fray against Reading. Any news if Bart will sign a new contract?
  21. Not a released player but a former player - I see Yoann Folly has signed with Aberdeen after a trial. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/aberdeen/8854102.stm
  22. But if you consider the reasons that Usain Bolt pulled out of the London GP meeting - it would mean that potentially he could discount a proprtion of the income from games played overseas (ie UEFA cup away games) - well in 3 seasons that amounts to 3 games against 38 league games per season & 2 seasons where they got to the cup final (6 games). Assuming they got knocked out in the first round of the league cup & no replays, they would have played a minimum 133 matches in this country. On that basis, AA can discount 2.25% (3/133) of the image rights as being earned overseas (IMO). That is nothing in the grand scheme of things and certainly shouldn't provide a get out clause for AA.
  23. I guess we're all used to poor reporting by journalists who don't understand and can't be bothered to understand the issues involved. But, I get the feeling they will all be swatting up on insolvency law next week when the full ramifications of what might happen start to to take hold. Journalists - god, some of them make the blue few on the snooze pages look quick by comparison.
  24. Got to love the 4th comment Yep we know, we've got Markus
  25. BBC reporting that the appeal could take a day or day & a half - well that would be another day gone before the start of the season even if Pompey did win (unlikely I know) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8839169.stm
