  1. Even as a free agent in the summer, he'll never earn what he is on at pompey again so the next 6 months will be about preparing for life after football - and getting as much in the bank possible so he'll not be going anywhere IMO.
  2. Help get his son sacked from Preston? Let's hope he has a similar effect at Pompey!
  3. Fantastic result. Gotta love this opening line from the report on the BBC website (even if the report couldn't have been any smaller if they'd just listed our scorers).... Southampton produced a mouth-watering display as they laid waste to Oldham. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/9354145.stm 'laid waste to Oldham' - yep that sounds good!
  4. Interesting that as a group you had a reserved table. Just a thought (as I'm at the wrong end of the country to take part ) but would it be possible to organise a SWF table through here? Would the club allow us to phone in and book a table and each member pay individually? Not sure of the practicalities but the thought occurred so thought I would throw it out there!!
  5. But on the bright side for the few - at least there won't be any huge bonuses to pay for a cup run this year, not to mention the time they can now save by not having to fill in that pesky application for European football next season!!!

  7. Jeez some of those quotes take some working out
  8. Except there's only 2 days left of the test... even 4 sessions could be enough to bowl the aussies out so bat as long as we can & declare so we can get a few overs before tea tomorrow.
  9. Heard a rumour today on Talksport (so probably complete rubbish) that Curbishley's brother is part of the consortium that took over. Please let it be Burley....
  10. Think it will be the Patriots year again, but the NFC is wide open IMO. Think the NFC champ game will be Eagles @ Bears and that will be a tough call.
  11. Have they finished paying Watford for Tommy Smith? I know they were still owed money, but can't remember if the PL payed them off at the start of the season? Yep, except that back-fired by them being so useless that even Hull managed to beat them - and now he'll have to serve his ban. Extra game for a frivolous appeal maybe?
  12. There, I've made some alterations as I saw his reign as manager at St Marys and I speak as someone who was in favour of him coming at the time. How wrong can you be. Oh and his previous job before joining us was north of the border, not north of London.
  13. Makes a mockery of some of the text commentary (on sky sports I think it was) that suggested both teams would choose to bat first!! Brilliant to bowl the aussies out having put them in at Perth, get in the position and to blow it. The key was surely getting Hussey just before the rain at lunch - but then to cap it with Cook & Strauss still being there at the close. Skintsaint really did choose the wrong test to go to!!!
  14. Who knows, may even save them a few quid with not having to pay Gaydemak for use of the car parks. Might just give Chainrai some idea's about a business plan going forward.....
  15. This ^^ Her duty would be to report it if she had any doubts about the transaction, hence why she asked (although in not the best way) where the money had come from. Any transaction out of the ordinary for an account should prompt some level of questioning. She would have been failing in her duty if she hadn't asked.
  16. Also the one club where his heart wasn't in it. Who's fault was it Lowe? Redknapp? or both? That is a very large number of brown paper bags! For those who frequent the thread in the lounge - Redknapp = Corpy Whore?
  17. This should be a reminder to anyone considering Celtic and Rangers joining the PL - this is the sort of b******t that you have to put up with when you allow the old firm in. They should never, ever be invited to join the PL or the FL.

    Dilema

The fact that you live in Coventry (which is a hole) and your girlfriend lives in Herefordshire says much. I had a similar decision to make a few years back (although I wasn't seeing anyone at the time), it did mean leaving family and friends to move to Edinburgh. I eventually went for it, and have never looked back. Don't go North of the Glasgow / Edinburgh line if you want to commute back regularly at the weekends. I live in Edinburgh and used to drive back regularly to Southampton on a Friday night, leave at 6pm (after the main rush hour around Edinburgh) and I could make the Coventry turn on the M40 by about 10.30. Perth is a dump btw, Dunblane is nice but will add loads extra to your commuting time at the weekend, don't know Dumfriesshire as Dune suggested but would seem to be a good compromise.
  19. Think that sums it up - would like to see Doble get the opportunity rather than bring in another young loan from elsewhere. Fair enough if we're bringing in quality that is going to improve the first 11 but let's give our young players the break rather than other teams.
  20. Great run to create Donny's second goal.
  21. Very good PES, that did actually make me laugh out loud!

  23. I'm sure that the guests will be able to pay for their own rooms and breakfasts - after all they've been paying for their own lunches!

  25. Sorry but f*** 'em, I lost any shred of sympathy I might have had for them a long time ago. Cheating c***s are best liquidated in my opinion, just a shame that other football fans might feel sorry for them.
