Presumably because all of the county's (i.e. Bransgrove's) money is tied up in the various expansion projects despite the county appearing to have to offer all sorts of discounts to get anywhere near a sell-out for the handful of international games we get given.

That's the amount that had been converted to equity at the time of the last set of accounts.

While I expected him to score on Saturday, the margins are becoming much finer the longer he persists in putting all of his penalties in the same direction. I'm surprised he's not varied which side he puts the ball a bit more, to keep the opposition goalkeeper guessing.

Ah, an old-school Rick-rolling... excellent I've seen 2:30pm mentioned by a few journalists on Twitter. The club's YouTube channel is here, so I assume it'll appear there when the live stream begins.

According to the online booking system, there's around 3200 tickets still available in home areas. Sunderland have not taken the full allocation, meaning that the whole of block 43 is on sale to home fans.

Always worth showing caution in these circumstances, and spending the sort of money we did at the start of *last* season having not yet banked any of the lucrative Premier League cash was mildly terrifying, but having got through last season unscathed, with the wage bill appearing to be under pretty good control and with the massive increase in guaranteed revenue this season, I'm satisfied we're in very good shape financially. I'm sure that'll be of relief to everyone Seriously, absolutely no issue asking questions - it's when questions aren't asked by anyone that problems start arising. Just look down the road, they're getting excited about beating Morecambe and one of the reasons for that is that nobody started asking questions about sustainability until it was too late. Our situations are, of course, massively different - we've got our own assets for a start, we've signed players on what appear to be affordable wages and we've benefited from the new broadcasting deal to facilitate a lot of the spending.

It'll be good if either of you could reach that stage at some point soon, tbh.

The rule that says you can only increase the wage bill by £4m per year over the next 3 years (i.e. the duration of the current broadcasting contract) only applies to clubs whose wage bill is £52m or above. Ours doesn't even come close to that yet. There are various ways of getting around it anyway, with sponsorship deals etc. For someone who has owned/run football clubs for many years, Gold doesn't seem to actually know much about the financial side of things. A surprise when you look at the utter cluster**** both of the clubs he's owned have been during his tenure...

Since when was "acting like dicks" a criminal offence or something punishable with a civil banning order?

Every other pass is straight to a blue shirt

1-1, free kick from an identical position to Rowe's goal, inswinger flicked on by Davey, no chance for Cropper. Slightly iffy marking, IMO.
-
1-0 Saints, Omar Rowe with a free kick from the corner of the area, went in right down the middle of the goal, keeper made a right mess of it after Sinclair distracted him in front of goal.

Chelsea TV isn't free-to-air tonight Anyone found a stream?

That last one's the zinger

Over the next few weeks, I'll be posting some exclusive (and some semi-exclusive shared with the Ugly Inside) blogs written by Matt Le Tissier, mainly about Saints but some covering other aspects of the game as well. These blogs are in association with Goalden Goals, a new goals prediction game Matt and I have been involved with alongside a journalist friend of ours, Graham Nickless. ----------------------------------------------- Rickie Lambert should be Wayne Rooney’s England strike partner ahead of Andy Carroll. For me there’s no contest-Lambert is a better all round player. And I can see Roy Hodgson playing Rooney and Lambert together. He can play Lambert as the top man and have Rooney floating in and around him. It was great to see Lambert have such a fantastic debut against Scotland-scoring with his first touch when he came on as substitute was incredible. That’s why I can’t see him being overlooked now for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine. He looks like an old-fashioned type centre forward but he’s not one of those big men who just moves to the back post to win a few headers. Lambert’s got a lot more about his game than that. He’s clever with dead balls at set pieces; takes a good penalty, has a terrific shot and his link-up play is impressive. Lambert’s just as happy at getting the ball into his feet as he is dealing with far post headers and there’s not many players you can say that about. That’s why I’d prefer to see him in the England team than Andy Carroll. If Hodgson wants a striker who’s going to be decent in the air then there’s only one choice. And if we qualify for Brazil then I’d take Lambert ahead of Carroll all day long. Lambert had a cracking first season in the Premier League but was a little overlooked last year. But he was patient, never moaned and when he got his chance on Wednesday took it absolutely brilliant. Sadly I missed his magnificent header live on TV because I was out of the room. But I was jumping to my feet off the sofa a few minutes later when I thought he was going to score a second. There he was just waiting to tap the ball in when it came across but it took a nick off a defender and I couldn’t believe it when he hit the post. I am so pleased for him because he’s a player that has come up through the lower divisions and has had to wait to get to the top. He is the first Southampton player to score for England since Alan Shearer, who also scored on his debut. This is a great boost for Southampton-it will give my old club a lot more credibility. Hopefully, it will make it easier for them to attract top players to the south coast and keep the decent ones at the club. Rickie Lambert has now proved that you can get into the England squad by playing for Southampton on a regular basis. --------------------------------------------------------

The Saints Twitter feed mentioned it last night, free entry.

Chelsea TV have often made their U21 games free-to-air, so keep an eye out for that on Sky and Virgin as well.

Yeah, was expecting them to beat Scotland pretty easily. Durham losing to Derbyshire was something of a surprise so it's now between us and Lancashire, but even if we ended up losing both games I reckon 16 points might get us the best runners-up spot.
-
I don't see what he's complaining about, his is the only team that doesn't have to play the reigning champions in any of their 38 fixtures...
-
With Durham losing heavily to Essex on Tuesday, it means that Lancashire game could almost be a dead rubber for us if we beat Surrey tonight, depending on how other results go, with everyone except Essex in action this evening. A win puts us onto 16 points with two to play (Lancashire and Derbyshire, both away). Essex, Durham and Lancashire (16, 16.75 and 17pts theoretical maximum each, but they can't all get to those figures as Essex play Lancashire on the 26th) can all catch us, but would require us to balls up at least two of our remaining three games. Lancashire's a possible defeat because of our absentees, but no reason why we shouldn't win the other two.

Nothing new there then

I wonder what trousers thinks of this.
