  1. I suspect that, having had Bournemouth mentally paying all of his wages for half a season, letting him out to Oldham for a much smaller percentage of his salary (if any at all) probably wasn't such a difficult decision. Not entirely sure where he goes from here now, though, probably only Wolves in League One who could afford his wages but I doubt he'd be on their radar.
  2. I think it's a very sensible move for him (in conjunction with the coaching staff, I assume) to concentrate on the right-back position, as I would suggest he's a lot more likely to make a first-team breakthrough there than in the holding midfield role he's occupied in the League Cup appearances he's made for the first team, simply because of the strength and quality in depth we now have in that position, whereas with the departure of both Frazer Richardson and Danny Butterfield, we don't (didn't) really have a proper understudy for Nathaniel Clyne.
  3. Saw rumours (on the ever-reliable Facebook) that we only had an initial allocation of 1700, which seems ridiculous given that it's not that far away and tickets are only £25.
  4. I managed to get £12.50 singles up on the Friday night and back on Sunday evening
  5. Recent events might make train travel from Santiago somewhat challenging, for those who were banking on that route...
  6. Worth noting that, IIRC, FourFourTwo predicted QPR to finish in the top half last season. I wouldn't take their predictions too seriously.
  7. And what a rip-roaring success that one turned out to be
  8. I paid £21 in total, £13 for London Liverpool Street to Norwich and £8 for Norwich to London Liverpool Street. I'd always book them as soon as you can, it's worth signing up to the notification emails from the rail companies so you'll be told when the advance fares are made available. It's usually 10-12 weeks in advance, but can vary for weekend travel depending on bank holidays and engineering works. I've got my ticket up to Manchester for the game at Old Trafford already, but can't get the return leg on the Sunday yet as they've not released the advance tickets. Edit: turns out the advance tickets on Virgin are available for that weekend, but most of them have already gone.
  9. Just booked mine, a whole pound more expensive to go first class
  10. Holloway really is pathetic.
  11. Plenty of senior players in our squad though, according to Eastleigh sources. Hammond, Sharp, Lee, Forte, De Ridder, Barnard and Martin all due to feature.
  12. Excellent Up to 8 definites and another 7 maybes so far.
  13. I see we've gone back to the "fanny around with it in our own penalty area" tactic that served us so well in the early part of last season
  14. Tried that a few years ago, ended up with 43 players registered with the league but still struggling to get 11 each week
  15. Morning all We've been invited to play against West Brom's supporters team on the morning before the PL game at the Hawthorns on Saturday 17th August. It'll be 11-a-side, 90 minutes, probably a 10:30 or 11:00 kick-off somewhere in the West Bromwich area. If you've seen us play before, you'll know there's not really much of a requirement for any decent playing standard but depending on numbers you'll probably need a moderate level of fitness. Full (striped!) kit is provided, so you would only need boots and shinpads. If anybody is interested in playing, please let me know asap Oh, and as an aside, here are some other dates with likely games: 19th October: Man United (away) 2nd November: Stoke (away) 9th November: Hull (home) 7th December: Man City (home) 11th January: West Brom (home) 8th February: Stoke (home) 22nd February: West Ham (away) 5th April: Man City (away) 10th May: Man United (home)
  16. I'm not sure who has been the most mental here, Chelsea for offering that sort of deal or Man United for rejecting it
  17. No settings have been changed at our end, it's possible that Tapatalk has updated its API to automatically change everybody's notification status. At least there seem to be relatively simple steps to turn it off again.
  18. Don't get me wrong, I completely agree, but as we've seen particularly exposed by our beach-dwelling neighbours, clubs will charge whatever they think they can get away with. Last season they got burned badly with pathetic attendances as a result of arranging far too many home games and then charging £25 for the only two that most people would have been remotely interested in, so at least they've made some sort of attempt at getting more people in the ground for this game.
  19. £18 isn't completely horrendous, the price is certainly going in the right direction when compared with last summer's shambles. I suspect that as we've only got one home friendly this season, it'll probably be a decent attendance for this one.
  20. Seems unlikely, Forren seemed to make it pretty clear Adkins had no part in the deal when he spoke in a press conference shortly after he signed. From what I remember, he said that he never met Adkins and that he was made aware that there was going to be a change a couple of weeks before NA got the boot.
