  1. I can't believe the Premier League would relax the embargo until the players have been paid on time. If there's another delay then all that does is confirm that they cannot afford the players they've currently got, let alone buy any new ones.
  2. The potential spanner in the works with Pompey which is significantly different to the situation with us a year ago is the winding-up order. I think if that gets carried then the court could decide to just shut them down straight away, rather than put them in administration, in which case there wouldn't be any opportunity for someone to buy the club on the cheap.
  3. Well they've had the proceeds of illegal arms dealing already, so surely the leader of a terrorist-sponsoring nation should get a go as well...
  4. The former
  5. Today's amusing news: apparently their youth team bus has been repossessed
  6. Fixed, tbf.
  7. I can strongly recommend renaming some of your filenames - replace all spaces, either with underscores or dashes. I would also suggest changing the colour scheme. The amount of bright blue overwhelms the page. Use more neutral colours like white and shades of grey for the background, I reckon.
  8. The suggestion is that he'll walk if the wages are delayed again at the end of this week.
  9. It would be fair to say I'm absolutely amazed we've managed to get the ban reduced - I was fully expecting to see it extended to 4 games.
  10. *settles in and waits*
  11. For supply and fit, probably about £150-200 or so, I guess.
  12. Possibly, or failing that just contact your local tax office.
  13. It depends how much you've earned since the beginning of the tax year (April 5th, I think, or thereabouts). If it's less than your personal allowance - generally £6,475, but can vary slightly depending on whether you've over or underpaid in previous years - and you don't work again this tax year, you'll be able to claim all of the tax back at the end of the tax year.
  14. I don't think it actually said that, per se. It said something along the lines that they would be entitled to serve 14-day notice on the club, but didn't actually say that the players would actually do it. They quoted a player saying "I'm fed up of lying for this club, from now on I will tell the truth", which could make the next week or so interesting. I'd expect all journalists writing about Pompey this week will be making calls to Herman Hreidarsson to get this "truth"...
  15. I think the main reason is so it doesn't alert other clubs to how much is being spent/recouped. Every competitive advantage that a club can get - i.e. not letting other clubs know how much money they've got and/or how much they've spent - will be taken these days. Not ideal, but unless the FA/Football League impose rules forcing clubs to disclose transfer payments, I can't see it changing.
  16. The article fails to deal with the fact that he's contractually owed the money, and unless he sticks his hand up and lets it be known, he'll have no chance of getting any of it.
  17. Sorry guys, while clearly people are capable of downloading a PDF and reading it, I can't let you post that phone number on here - mainly because I can't be arsed to deal with the inevitable hassle it'll cause!
  18. Celtic and Newcastle respectively, apparently!
  19. If there's a club prepared to pay that sort of money then technically he is "worth" that. I'd be pretty annoyed if we paid that sort of money for someone like him though! If that sort of stupid money's being talked about, he'll be off to Spurs...
  20. I have vague recollection that the Johnson to Liverpool deal basically covered all of the outstanding money due for Crouch, so pretty sure that deal was settled back then.
  21. Apparently he's got the hump because James is off to Stoke and other players are being sold behind his back. It seems utterly unfathomable that he didn't realise that players would have to be sold to attempt to pay off some of the debt  Williamson, Mullins and Wilson are all likely to leave soon, and they'll hold out until the last possible moment before selling Kaboul to get the best price.
  22. Please tell me that's a joke...
  23. How about the supposed "adults" who then attempted to start a fight with a stewards for having the cheek to stop them getting on the pitch? It's happened quite a few times this season - one of these days, the referee will report it to the FA and we'll be in trouble.
  24. To be fair to them, I would be amazed if this was an uncommon practice.
