  1. What he said.
  2. I hope the quality of the journalism has improved from its previous efforts...
  3. They advertised it on the original unveiling article. It was £900+VAT, which we don't have. That bit of the article's now gone, so I'm guessing someone took up the offer quite quickly.
  4. http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=6101 Defender. Although his Wikipedia page suggests he's a midfielder...

    Too expensive anyway - they've not missed a trick there, £900+VAT :smt103
  6. Via a contact at the Echo, apparently the police have absolutely no knowledge of any such incident. As such, I'm locking this.
  7. As an addendum, how about the old "na na na na, na na na na, heeeey, Mickey Evans" one being adapted?
  8. I like that - however, there's not much chance of enough people being able to a) remember it, or b) be sober enough to sing it properly

Not sure - Norwich have brought in 12 new players (served them well on Saturday ), I'd have thought they won't all have been freebies.

Fantastic signing, and if the fees quoted in the Bristol Post are accurate, it's an absolute bargain as well.
  12. Write to the club and tell them you'll pay the extra stewarding and policing costs of having blocks 1-3 fully open - they'll be delighted with the kind offer. Do agree with that - rather than let the majority disperse, they inadvertently create a much bigger potential flashpoint by the entrance to the North car park.
  13. Just the 33 people predicted 1-1 yesterday
  14. I think it's probably safe to say the suggestion that someone was stabbed and/or killed is probably untrue - the Echo website would have run with a big story like that by now.
  15. Usually a few days - there are some transactions on their way through by the look of it that will probably show up tomorrow; I expect yours is probably among them.
  16. £250k was the fee Man City paid us.
  17. Yep, they're fighting off a DOS attack... http://status.twitter.com
  18. This. Massive relief.
  19. Shouldn't be too long. However, it actually now appears that the BBC story was wrong and that they've not actually applied for the work permit yet because of the likelihood it'll be rejected, so they're "taking advice"...
  20. It will automatically try again in three days time, although if everything's in order anyway, chances are it won't work then either. Best bet is to cancel the recurring payment in your PayPal account and resubscribe through here
  21. There would probably be grounds for appeal based on him missing one world cup qualifying game through suspension and one ANC match presumably either through injury or suspension. With those two games ignored, he's played 8 from 10 competitive games, which would be enough to be eligible for the work permit.
  22. If selected, yes. Not as far as I'm aware.
  23. It's worth bearing in mind, before anyone uses that data to bash people with, that there was an African Cup of Nations tournament in January 2008, where Tunisia played 4 games. If he played in all 4 games, that would give him 9 from 12, which is 75%. Unfortunately I can't find any lineup data for those games on the FIFA website, the CAF website or Wikipedia.
  24. The ruling certainly used to be that the player had to have played in 75% of his country's games for which he was eligible for (if he was suspended for any period, I don't think those games count), and the country had to be in the top 70 in the FIFA rankings. Whether that's changed recently, I've no idea. From April 2008 (the furthest back the FIFA website has match lineups) to now, Tunisia have played the following games: 1/6/08: Burkina Faso - Jaidi played (yellow card) 7/6/08: Seychelles - played 15/6/08: Burundi - played (yellow card) 21/6/08: Burundi - didn't play, presumably suspended 6/9/08: Burkina Faso - didn't play, unused sub 28/3/09: Kenya - played 6/6/09: Mozambique - played 20/6/09: Nigeria - didn't play, unused sub So from 8 competitive games in the last 15 months, he's played 5, which is only 62.5%. Even taking into account the game he was possibly suspended for, 5 from 7 is still only 71.4%, so that'll be the reason.
