  1. They're doing you a favour really
  2. I'm sure they used exactly the same excuses when explaining why the wages weren't paid a month ago...
  3. Probably not a great deal in the grand scheme of things, but the comments Peter Storrie made a few weeks ago about Arkadi having been the one making the decision as to who the club was sold to when the fake doctor got in ahead of the Saudis pretty much proved that it was Arkadi's money that had funded the club since Sacha's takeover. Getting all sensationalist for a second... the 2008 FA Cup was bought by illegal arms dealing proceeds Another seal of approval for the Fit and Proper Persons test as well
  4. One interesting bit of news that seems to have slipped below the radar on here... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8328314.stm Arkadi Gaydamak convicted of illegal arms dealing and sentenced to 6 years in prision in absentia - he's currently in hiding in Russia, unsurprisingly.
  5. Nothing like getting ahead of ourselves or anything...
  6. Nope, moved because Bristol Rovers' near non-league neighbours Paulton Rovers are at home to Norwich on the Saturday in a televised game, and the OB can't/don't want to have to police two games in near proximity.
  7. It's 15% for cup games... when we were there 18 months ago, we had about 1600 if I remember rightly, probably about 1000 on the terrace and the rest seated behind the goal
  8. And there's not a cat in hell's chance Reading would have Pardew back after he walked out on them to go to West Ham.
  9. Would be useful if people from here wouldn't cause me any more grief than I'm currently getting, cheers...
  10. Speaking of valuable land, did anyone ever find out what happened regarding Jackson's Farm?
  11. Marc Wilson?
  12. I've thought about doing a SaintsWeb podcast for a while now, but I think there'd probably be a shortage of things to talk about really.
  13. Speaking of the Dons, I'll be on Radio MK within the next hour previewing our game Think you can listen live at radiomk.co.uk or something like that
  14. Not much point in pulling that one as they ran it as their back page headline in the print edition today. What an almighty mess
  15. Errr... didn't Peter Storrie say only a few weeks ago that all of the cash from the TV revenue was going straight into the hands of Standard Bank to repay the loans to them? If so, how have they managed to secure a loan based on something that's already securitised?! I suspect he should have backed his initial judgement, to be fair...
  16. Would a conviction on that charge automatically disqualify him from being a football club director?
  17. Can't do any worse than Mike Newell did, to be fair. Also, a rather major irony of her succeeding Newell if it turns out to be true (and I doubt it will happen, tbh)
  18. Strachan and Pearson will be the favourites, I'd have thought. Doubt Pardew's even on their radar at the moment.
  19. The word is that upgrading from XP to Windows 7 is an absolute nightmare, but everything else I've heard has been generally positive.
  20. Very much so
  21. I'd agree with him on that point, to be honest. The whole organisation is doomed to fail when it is placed under so many regulatory restrictions just because it's a state-owned organisation. Its competitors are not under the same restrictions and can therefore negotiate with its potential clients over the fees it charges. Royal Mail is not getting a level playing field, and the only way it will do is if it goes private, IMO.
  22. Unfortunately the counties voted for this setup. They bring more people through the gates for 20 and 40-over cricket than they do for 50-over cricket, so it's no great surprise that they want to do what's best for them financially, rather than what's best for the national team.
  23. To be fair to him, on this occasion he does have a point. Absolutely ludicrous that he (and others) should be thrown out for holding up a poster with the word "Judas" on it. He should have been thrown out for body odour offences instead.
