  1. York is invariably a good meeting Frankie, think it is less likely that an unfavourable draw will scupper any horses chances as was clearly the case with several and particularly Music Show at Newmarket. Nothing definite yet though I'm finding Aviate hard to oppose at York in the 2.40 and also checking out Full Victory at Bath ( 7.30). Will aim to post a few definite tips by 1pm. Cheers, Chris
  2. Thanks Frankie though you clearly spent too long on the dark side Just a quick visit is all it takes and up pops Iceman George !! You're just having one of those runs which happens to everyone though mostly me !! Cheers, Chris PS I was aware Red Twist won at a very nice price, 33/1 but though I may be wrong I think it was about 125/1 or more on BF so damned unlucky to be sure.
  3. Excuse me, I can take subtle hints you know
  4. Now MB is back with a smile though you'll not be laughing when Saints get dumped out in the semis
  5. Um, which "tiny minority" are you specifically referring to ?
  6. Money is only of real value if spent wisely, Pardew has for me demonstrated an ability to do just that.
  7. Thanks for finally letting us in on that NC !
  8. Give me a more balanced approached any day. No need to let another Lowe saga develop, no need to completely blank the fans either.
  9. Or it could have been nipped in the bud 3/4 days ago and then we wouldn't need all these threads. Doesn't take THAT much time to issue a brief statement TBH and not because of the DM articles but the clear concerns of the fans who clearly back Pardew.
  10. Pretty much the main point from my perspective, regardless of how "private" the club may want to run things there is such a thing as customer loyalty and heaven knows the fans have been very loyal. The reason I'm so unhappy with NC is not so much what he says but the fact he says very little. Just not good enough IMO though if other fans are prepared to accept that then it's of course their choice, For me though simply not good enough.
  11. David Hirst 114mph ?? What on earth did they use to measure that !? Presumably though the reason we signed him a year later
  12. Halifax kicked out, Swinton reinstated. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12196_6147176,00.html
  13. If memory serves someone ( St Landrew?) said a while back it was just the BBC South/South West region.
  14. Boooooooo, all out for 512
  15. Oh this is fun, another 6 for Ervine !
  16. 228 even now !! SM Ervine 200 off 314 balls, 357 mins, 27x4, 2x6
  17. Up comes the 500, we might even declare!
  18. 494/9, Ervine 222*. So far 35 for the last wicket after 130 for the 9th wicket, Tomlinson an excellent 42. A career best I think ? Edit Career best for Ervine
  19. Clearly abandoned a sinking ship
  20. What's the record for Hants !?
  21. Clearly they have
  22. A few more : 2.50 - Yarmouth: Kingswinford - @ 6/1 (Betfred) Cativo Cavallino e/w @ 20/1 (Sportingbet) Although the booking of Ryan Moore for Kingswinford takes the eye, he hasn't won in eight previous attempts for this yard in recent seasons. However his mount comes into this race on the back of good efforts in three of his last four outings and the only concern is whether he will find the ground faster than ideal. Most of his form has been on good ground or softer but he has run well on fast ground in the past. He is normally seen in slightly better company than this and he is weighted to win on a mark of 74 having posted his last two victories from marks of 73 and 75. Cativo Cavallino is ten pound lower than when going close here over six furlongs a few seasons back. After his seasonal reappearance he didn't run a bad race in nine outings last season, winning once. Five of his six victories have come on the polytrack but his form on turf is largely comparable. Despite looking in need of his reappearance over six furlongs at Lingfield last month he stayed on well after being hampered to get within three lengths of the winner. He is just as effective over seven furlongs and gets on well with today's partner. 3.00 - Beverley: King Of Swords -@ 9/2 (General) Lucky Dan - e/w@ 14/1 (General) After the last meeting it's difficult to predict just how the draw will pan out today but, with all sixteen standing their ground, it may still pay to side with those drawn higher. The race in which Lucky Dan finished third and King Of Swords fifth at Thirsk ten days ago may hold the key to the outcome of this. King Of Swords was noted travelling well throughout the race but he never got the gaps when he needed them. He finished well when racing room was granted but it was too late for his chances of winning. He looks to be peaking and the return to a stiff track from a good draw is in his favour. He has won from today's mark in the past and all three victories last season came under today's jockey. Lucky Dan doesn't win very often, and ideally needs a sixth furlong, but this stiffer track could bring his stamina into play if they go hard enough and he can keep tabs on the trailblazers. He is not ideally drawn but he seems to get on particularly well with today's jockey. 4.00 - Beverley - Deadly Secret e/w@ 14/1 (General) Probably a bit speculative on the balance of his form but this represents an easier task for Deadly Secret. His fitness has to be taken on trust but the yard have been in very good early season form and he may be straight enough to do himself justice. He often ruins his chance by being too keen but there looks the likelihood of a generous gallop and that could help him relax. He is three pounds lower than when running by far his best race at Doncaster last June. The rest of his performances since his Juvenile campaign have not been very encouraging but the inherent ability is there, and it would be surprising if his handler didn't find the key to him at some point. 5.40 - Warwick - Iceman George e/w. @ 16/1 (William Hill) City Stable caught the eye on his reappearance and he is chucked in here on his old form. However backing unlucky losers at relatively short prices next time out is not often profitable. At a much bigger price, Iceman George is preferred on this occasion. He returned to the flat on the A/W at Kempton last month and ran well, making up late ground over 12 furlongs to finish 4/13, beaten just under five lengths. Most of his form last season came over today's trip and he returns to the turf five pound lower than his last winning mark. With doubts surrounding plenty of the opposition, and fitness assured, the selection looks capable of making the frame at least.
  23. As per post 49 TBH
  24. Ervine may not be consistent but is an excellent batsman and invariably has batted higher in the order, 4/5, in the past. I prefer Pothas at 7 as he is indeed more consistent and likely to be able to nurse the later batsman and keep the strike better than Ervine. I've said many times that Pothas is vital to our side for the depth he adds to the batting but so does Evine. Anyway now 345/8, Ervine on 120, Tomlinson on 2.
  25. Well I was going to add to my comment that he "didn't even try" that it was a la MLT style but no need to bother now !
