you're absolutely right. Women walking out on their husband and kids does seem FAR worse than when a man leaves . Like you say, it's all about societies pre-conceived idea of how a mother is supposed to 'be there' for her children,regardless of the circumstances. i think that what hits home mostly for me (and 99% of women/mothers) is that the 'protective instinct' i have for my kids is so strong that i just cannot comprehend how any mother can betray a child's trust and take their innocence in such a savage and disgusting manner. A father abusing his child is ,of course, an equallly disgusting act,yet we as a society seem to be more accustomed to hearing that on the news than hearing about a MOTHER doing it,ya know?

what really dismays me about this story (and the vanessa george one) is that these are WOMEN, and even worse than that, they are MOTHERS!!!!!..i don't mean that to sound naive or sexist, but child abuse and paedophilia has always been seen as a 'male' dominated crime (if ya know what i mean), and this has really opened my eyes to how downright evil some women can be .

my youngest was sent home from school today. he had a fairly high temperature and was really lethargic...... however , after a quart of Calpol he really perked up......sadly, after 4 hours his fever was back again and he fell asleep at 6pm. ...poor little soul ...

it's not gonna be shut though! all the ST holders in those blocks will still be there, they are just encouraging the more 'casual' fans to go into the extended Northam (technically the Kingsland, but we won't dwell on that!) i don't know how this will turn out, but time will tell, and i'm sure that if it doesn't have the desired effect then the club will either revert or come up with a new solution. and as for the poster who said that he has 4 friends who won't renew their ST because of this.......WHY???? i've got a memory foam topper , and bloody LOVE it........i don't suffer with a bad back, so can't comment on its effectiveness in that respect, but it makes you feel snug as a bug when you climb into bed, thats for sure...

someone on here said that the tickets that didn't get sold at SMS will be sent up to Carlisle for our supporters to buy there......
