Tadic has done way more for us than Caulker! Has Caulker scored the winner at Old Trafford for starters?

JWP, Matty Targett and Chambers are all current England U'21 internationals produced by our academy. I don't think they can be asked to do a lot more than that. What's been left behind after Shaw and Chambers sale and JWP being regular first team squad still has a couple of players that people are championing on here for first team games so I don't think it's all that bad really. I still think Reed was quality when I saw him last season and can't believe he hasn't kicked on though.

Decent squad player at the moment and as he's home grown I'd much rather him in the squad than a mercenary foreign player. One thing I learned from our wilderness years is that players can improve and shouldn't be written off at 19/20/21 years of age. I always focussed on Lallanas weak shot and lack of pace but over the years he worked on that and became a decent player by his mid twenties. Look elsewhere for scapegoats chaps, at least for 3/4 more years.

Agree, I think we'll buy one and loan one seeing as one is injury cover. Maybe VVD on a permanent and Jonny Evans on a season long loan with option to buy? Would be more our way of doing things Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk

Yep, we are a shop window club but it's gonna take a long time for the penny to drop with some of our fans. Thats our selling point to the best talent in Europe that aren't quite ready for CL clubs. Similar outcome to the Eyal Bercovic loan many years ago. Once the richer clubs get a sniff of a quality player its over. (For younger fans West Ham were richer in those days and snapped him up from under our noses).
