Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
austsaint replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I'm wondering if AP doesn't "rate" Papa because he's not a Pardew signing! Papa made a huge contribution against Pompey - not only his pace and skill, but his willingness to track back and help out in defence. Subbing him at the 70 min. mark makes me suspicious that AP has his mind set against him. -
Can someone tell me what the cash prizemoney is for winning the JPT? Enough to paint the town red?
-
Got to agree with Alpine on this one - surely Papa has shown enough flair and speed to be included and featured more often. He seems to have been overlooked by AP since the Leeds game.

Spot on Nick. So high is the expectation of success now that results like tonight are hard to accept - yet had the club's current position been offered in August/September who wouldn't have grabbed it? Can anyone explain why Papa is featuring so little lately?
-
I agree. Assuming that Preston would have accepted an offer for Trotman, I would loved him to have been retained permanently. Looks a player who at his age will only continue to improve as a CB. Even if AP can gain a good replacement, it could be a few precious weeks before the continuity of the back four is settled, depending on the fitness and durability of Perry during a busy period.

Surman looked completely out of his depth today.

Papa can play!!
-
Fantastic listening on Radio Solent "down under" ....penalties started 8am, Australian time.....I have just taken my first "sicky" from work for 2 years!!!!! What an inspiring result......great call by Chris and Dave.
-
Thanks for the snaps LS - where was the Pub people were drinking in as a matter of interest - and what time of day is it getting dark over there at this time of the year?
-
It's a good point you make Nick, but,I hope Trotman can stay!
-
Agree with you.....I thought NP was the best we could hope for in the "new era" - but Pardew is intelligent, articulate and knows the game.
-
If it isn't you will be able to watch it on your computer through "365" - the Sports Betting agency; you have to register (it doesn't cost anything) - and then you can watch any of the streaming from Sky UK. Should be good!
-
What are the chances of Trotman staying beyond the loan term?
-
Suddenly - at 5 points; the play offs look to be very possible......don't they?

Best line of the year!!

From my limited opportunities to see the team play, I rate Saga very highly. If/when our midfield and flanks deliver consistently better chances - he (Saga) will deliver. The other point I'd make about Saga is, that in contrast to Rasiak, Stern and even McG. he runs and "puts in" off the ball. Handy with his head too.
-
Let's hope Papa's got a brand new bag...........of goals!
-
Agree with you Alpine - Saga's efforts have been very good. If the disallowed goal last week had stood, some might be singing a different tune. He is a classy player - the longer he stays, the better.

Definite improvement from Saints TV days - match highlights with commentary, and good interviews with players and AP; who has impressed me with his direct, analytical commentary on the team and the rebuilding process. SAints Player is worth paying for.

That's where retaining our own Dyer would have helped now - with Ricky L./Raz to convert

Great photos comsaint. Murty looks to have trimmed down, and doesn't Lambert have a "Beattie" look about him!

Poll: Would you be happy for Pearson to be our manager?
austsaint replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
NP would be just the right appointment following recent events - respect from the players; a majority of the fan base and an investment in the momentum and future the new ownership represents. -
You'd hear me cheering from Brisbane if Nigel get's a recall.

Entirely the right decision. A fresh start for the club following this astonishing and incredibly welcome takeover. Even if MW had been up to the job which I doubt.....his departure clears most of the stench of the Lowe era. To my mind keeping Wotte in the new era after losing Pearson following Lowe's return would have been the new administration's first major mistake.
