  1. I agree with this view. Only seen him in the televised game v Bristol R. where he was out of his depth and looked clumsy at times and well off the pace. On the games I've seen on the box this season, there are several young players who ae either out of their depth or needing much more time......ie Lancashire; James; Gobern; Mills; Thompson; Gillet......and while I'm on a somewhat negative roll.....sadly I don't see Andrew Surman ever becoming a top player despite his local lad, clean cut image....he is a good CCC player who will always be to easily brushed off the ball and lacks a cutting edge of pace to ever cut it in better company....Lallana is clearly the better future prospect.
  2. You might be right about Davenport - but to call Camara a poor player is plainly wrong...he played some great football while with SFC. I think there's been a lot of over-the-top bile and hatred directed at Redknapp; I understand why. But the fact that he is a good Manage is beyond dispute in my view.
  3. Yep. Euell should be in the starting line up - either in mid-field or up front - I think he should always start ahead of Wotton, who has to be the most astonishing signing of the season; may as well have kept Jermaine Wright than have picked up this fellow.
  4. Will they send him to Coventry?
  5. Agree with Alpine. The sale of Lallana, if, and when it happens, will be a continuing trend of desperate selling of our most marketable players to cover the abysmal running of the club - the dip in attendances is a convenient alibi. The selling of players like Lallana is likely to result in more crowd absentee such is the vicious circularity of the trend of fire-selling.
  6. McG. is obviously not a wide player is he? Can someone remind me of how we let go of or lost Ricardo Fuller?
  7. Not quite there
  8. Very ordinary isn't it! I notice there is a delayed coverage of a CCC game going to air on Fox at 10:30pm Monday night (Brisbane time) - could be Saints v QPR unless it's a repeat of Derby v Sheff. Utd.
  9. No; at least two - I thought he showed James up at RB. Hammil was clearly fitter than previously and looked dangerous until injured. The reflection on Burley's Management is hard to miss.

Oz - irrespective of what the statistics say; I think it's fair to reflect that Blackpool were at least a one goal better team on the day.
  11. Agreed. We look ineffective on the right side. White has to be replaced; James given a hard time by Hammill;Holmes, Lallana, DMG and Surman lloking good. Perhaps Dyer on for White and Cork into defence.
  12. Yes, add me to the list of converts. I didn't want Nigel to go - but JP has carved his own niche and is offering something fresh and quite original.
  13. I think you're right Elmore - Blackstock would have been a great young player to retain, and in the end it seemed like a lazy piece of business by Burley to privilege the journeyman, "readymade" campaigner.
  14. Is his talent in this area the reason he's with us?
  15. Listened to the game on Saints TV. Very frustrating result, although there is surely much to be positive about for the season ahead. I wonder whether JP will change the balance of the side in the weeks ahead, according to home or away; wet or dry conditions. While I can understand the logic of rewarding the team (1st half) who played against Stoke at St Marys on a dry track- playing at Ninian Park on a wet day was a different proposition wasn't it? Maybe the inclusion of players like Thomas (even at right back), Euell, Wotton, Rasiak etc would have provided a better balance against a big Cardiff side on a wet pitch.
  16. Don't mind the Will Cope/David Armstrong commentary team - Jimmy Case might be squeezed out at this rate!
  17. Brilliant appointment. A truly inspirational human being - and if he can play 30 or so games this year it will feel as though the Footballing Gods may be backing us once again.
  18. Thanks for your impressions!
  19. Who could forget them though, Kip. Young Ones meets The Sex Pistols!
  20. Has anyone else had their post tally reduced in the changeover? I've been docked about a 100.
  21. I have marked your words well, Mark. Not being able to access TSF was reminiscent of the time I gave up betting on horses to privilege a relationship - ie agonising. Great to have the forum back and well worth the money, even if the Aussie exchange rate is lousy:)
