Can someone who saw the game tell me how Ryan Dickson played tonight?
-
Shocking news.
-
Three coins too many in the Fontaine (maybe).
-
Not really Benji ; the quota of "dic#heads" is roughly the same spanning all nations.
-
Indeed. In Australia several Football Clubs have an official "no dickheads policy" - irrespective of talent.
-
No argument from me. A little underwhelmed by Harding's extension but this is cracking news. Class player.
-
Good report Shurlock - on what I've seen last season and in the Leeds and Barnsley games this year, our two weaknesses are LB (Harding) and CB (Martin, Seabourne) - while understanding the argument for keeping a successful and harmonious team intact, these are the spots needing bolstering.

As many predicted, Guly's skills have shone through even brighter in the higher league of Championship Football. Some of his flicks and passes are top shelf and even if he has to settle for rotated, "out-of-his-best-position" time on the pitch this season, I'm expecting a few special goals from him too. As a bonus, Guly seems like a jovial, likeable fellow who probably adds to the close bond evident within the squad at present.

Has Morgan's contract been extended? Hope so.
-
Agree with you. I hope Dickson stays....he has more athleticism and scope for improvement against better opposition than Harding.
-
I agree. Promising player who wanted away to the glittering lights - there's still a huge doubt as to whether he will cut it in the Prem. The deal for us is top drawer; balances a few accounts and funds a quality addition or two. You have to admire the way this Club is being run now, on and off the field. The thing with Cortese is you don't have to like him but he is very easy to respect as a Chairman.

QPR make Saints an offer for Puncheon (Player Exchange)
austsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
It just looks like the right deal for the club. The Latvian CB has the right background and pedigree to do well in a position we are seeking to bolster. On the other hand QPR are getting a very classy player who doesn't want to/cannot stay at SFC. It has to happen.....doesn't it? -
I think Barnard will do well in the Championship. If someone like Ormerod can cut it at Prem and Championship level then so can LB. Maybe not as quick as Brett O. but at least matches him in other parts of their games.
-
Certainly would be. Against all likelihood, I'd love to see Puncheon staying and playing good football at SFC.
-
I agree with others - he has been poorly advised in making these statements and at best they show a lack of discipline and respect for the club and his team mates. It looks like goodbye time to me because it's hard to see him playing among the team now as part of a committed bunch for the season ahead.

Who was your favourite foreign Saints player? (current players don't count)
austsaint replied to dune's topic in The Saints
Jhon Viafara was my favourite. Played with a lot of passion - unforgettable performance in the play offs v Derby a few years back. -
You have to have to hand it to Kevin Phillips - he's been a prolific striker and scorer of goals over a long period.
-
One way or the other it seems like Oxo has played his last game for Saints - if the money is spent bolstering the squad then it's a great result for SFC.
-
I agree. Jamie R. gave his all while at the club and 'Arry was on a hiding to nothing with Lowe releasing nothing in the way of cheque book support. From memory, Ricardo Fuller at 90k was about the only purchase sanctioned by Lowe. I understand the negativity towards Redknapp snr, but really he didn't have a chance at the time.
-
Loved his back heel to Lambert leading up to the penalty recently - against Brentford was it? And his goal against Blackpool in the cup was top drawer.
-
Incredibly bad time to go tits up isn't it !!!!
-
Thank you so much Saint John - down here in Australia, frustrated at not being able to get Saints Player going - the Radio Solent replay is going to be great - thanks again.
-
Chez; great to read that you got a ticket late in the day. Thanks for your reports and comments throughout the season....enjoyable and informative.
-
Agree with this - Alan Pardew has been a significant contributor to this wonderful achievement - he set the foundations in place and Nigel, you have finished the job in great style

And up and down in several other countries too!! Go well Saints today......if we win tonight those memories of Man U sending us down to the Championship on the last day of the season 5 or so seasons ago can finally be put to rest.
