Daily Echo - LALLANA Fulham bid rejected...SPURS INTEREST TOO
Greenridge replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
The length of the outstanding contract when a player is sold has a significant impact on the selling price of that player. It's therefore a prudent and sensible strategy by the Club. -

Very good point Nick. I don't think there is a witch-hunt going on here as some like to suggest I just feel people are making observations on the situation as they see it. Again, none of us are armed with the full facts so it's very difficult to comment with absolute certainty. He did however have an opportunity to help the police by providing names of the uncaught offenders and he didn't take it. It's also worth remembering that a number of people will have reviewed the case (several levels of increasing seniority within the police force and the Crown Prosecution Service) and all of which felt there was a case to answer. It was a lone magistrate who decided there wasn't.

Nick why do you take things so personally? I'm not sure who referred to you as a numpty but I'm sure it wasn't malicous. Opinions expressed on this forum are just that - opinions. They are, for the most part, based on limited knowledge of the actual facts of the matter in hand. We often only hear one side of the story and that of course is from the Club and they will want to show themselves in a positive light. In the same way when clubs and managers go their own ways through 'mutual consent' it's often the case that this is not really fact but gives both parties a no-blame way out of the situation. I'm sure we're all worldy-wise enough to acknowledge that there is some artistic license to what is written on the OS with reference to players leaving. -
I'm sure there are some examples of it working here in the UK but I'll be damned if I can think of one. Anyone have any suggestions?

Honour amongst thieves. You can dress this up anyway people want and yes, in the eyes of the law there was insufficient evidence to proceed despite the police and CPS believing there was. Of course he knew exactly what was going on. He can distance himself on a technicality but it's only that.

Don't think he is. It's quite a likely scenario (unfortunately). -
Aiding and abetting?
-
I believe there's some connection between him and Daniel Cousin who just transferred from Rangers to Hull.
-
We didn't have many left to sell if you hadn't noticed as they've been moved on already. Other than KD it seems the only players left from last years under-performing team that appear to not be in favour are BWP, Euell and Skacel. None of which are featuring and it is therefore reasonable to beleive that SFC are trying their very best to move them on. You can't sell something if there are no buyers. Skacel seems to be a prime example. SFC tried their best to shift him to Ipswich who offered him 6K per week (if we are to beleive the information coming out) whereas he's on 12K+ (again if we are to beleive what we hear). Hardly surprising he wouldn't go eh. Don't forgot the loan window opens in a weeks time.
-
According to SSN Everton are signing Carlo Nash as cover for Howard so that may put any move for KD out the window.
-
I take it that 'loans' can still be conducted outside of the transfer window or have I got that completely wrong? I think that's how it worked last season. If that's the case we might not necessarily see Euell and Skacel out the door today but perhaps over the coming weeks.

Like 'Kelvin - hopefully he is proving some off you nobs a lesson.' ??

I'm sure NickG will realise he was a little hasty in generating this thread. Our form can only be assessed over a longer period than a few games and the knee-jerk reaction that is shown for both good and poor performances in this short period is exactly that - a knee-jerk. It does however give an indication of where we are and it's not where we'd want to be that's for sure.
-
It's what football fans do, we are not unique at SFC in that respect. I stick by what I said and that is we have a long tough season ahead. Staying up is our goal and as long as that is met we'll have done ok. We can then take stock and continue the (re)building process.

It's a good job you are not your Lord and Master's accountant. 2 + 2 = 5 Feel free to carry on trolling.... Difficult to see past the like of Ron Davies, Terry Paine, Mick Channon and MLT for me. Beattie did his bit but to include him in the 'greatest' alongside the above? Sorry, not for me.

''....this club almost was relegated....'' And maybe you need some first grade writing tuition. You can get back in your box now.
-
Your lack of knowledge of anything to do with football is somewhat comical.
-
Have I missed something? Another load of twaddle from Mr Twaddle himself.

Pedg I have no intention in entering a debate relating to specifics on who is and who isn't a 'lowe-luvie'. Bear in mind this is not a phrase I coined or condone and certainly not one I have 'spec'd'. The point I was trying to make, and this is my last comment on the matter, is that reasonable people will take on board the facts in hand and make a balanced judgement as they see fit. Some, however, will insist in ramming biased opinion down your throat irrespective of the evidence which can be contrary to their argument. This is where I feel much of the ill-feeling is generated.
-
In that case Bloop I wouldn't class you as a luvvie but someone who believes in something and supports it where credit is due. Not that we should be trying to pigeon-hole fans anyway. There are some however, who would support him regardless of what he did and it's these people with a strangely slanted view of their Messiah that seem to get people's backs up. He's done some very good things for the Club and some which are not so good but to blindly believe everything he touches turns to gold is not reality.

I guess you don't read the forum too much if you think Scooby is the only one. Plenty more can be added but that's hardly the point I was making. How about Sunny D for starters. There are others of course....
-
I'm sorry Prof but I strongly disagree with this comment and submit a prime, if not extreme example, of Scooby. As was mentioned by someone earlier this week it is not that the majority are anti-Lowe but they do object to getting pro-Lowe comments rammed down their throats at every opportunity. It is this aspect which appears to keep the 'divide' ongoing. Nickh offered a definition of 'Lowe-Luvie' on a thread recently. However whilst I agree with some of what he wrote, in my humble opinion, a Lowe-luvie (I hate that description) is not someone who see's the good in what Lowe is doing (I think the majority would agree he is doing some very good things for the Club, albeit by necessity rather than choice) but the bloody-mindedness of some who will support him and would continue to support his ideas if he became an axe-wielding murderer. A surreal example I grant you but you get my drift.
-
No not at all but feel free to carry on with your patronising.

So you've not seen them play? Not very strong grounds for making this post.
