We do have Barnard which we didn't have at the start of last season and we do have Connelly who is hopefully recovered from injury fully (I'm sure AP would not of signed him if he was still injured). To me there is 60+ goals in these three players alone. A few from midfield (how many did Lallana get last season, 20 ) and the likes of Fonte and Harding chipping in with a few means we won't have problems scoring so the pressure will not be all on Lamberts shoulder. The bloke even takes some of the corners so he is confident others will score. Our starting 11 will be one of the strongest in this league, yes we will need another CM and possibly another forward, CM being the priority imo but just as cover as I think what we have is good enough. We do still have three weeks before kick off though so no panic.

I disagree, the players know these are friendlies and whilst winning breeds confidence they know the business end starts on August 07th this is what they are aiming for. Preparing for this date is what these friendlies are all about, losing to two top teams isn't the end of the world and the players will know this. As for AP's comments and spin, you're having a laugh right?

The first 11 is very strong, probably the best in the league but I agree we are in need of one or two more players in case of injuries, for me that.s in CM, another forward would be nice but we do have three and won't ever play three at the same time so we do have cover here so cover for Hammond and Schneiderlin is a must really. Other than that we are fine in all other departments (providing Bart stays )

So Murraay, the world number 4 (has reached number 3) is not excellent at his sport? I appreciate Federer and Nadal are the best but Murray has beaten both these, Federer on numerous occasions. Yes he hasn't won a major yet but he has been close and won numerous titles, you could say he is excelllent at what he does wouldn't you agree.

Think Mckenzie was in there as well As was pointed out it was a good all round performance and on the back of Friday's dismal performance

We have Connelly and Barnard, we won't play three strikers so one of these I would imagine. I think we still need another though.

Ha ha you make me laugh, not. You said he was the wrong end of 30 which suggested he was past it. I've never seen him play except if he has played against us but then again I don't pay attention to the opposition when we play, I concentrate on our own players but if the management thinks he is good enough then I am happy to see him pull on the shirt for our club. The same could be said for Lambert, Fonte, Connelly, Puncheon, the list goes on. As for libel, get a life sadddo

I think what CHAPEL END CHARLIE is saying is we should only sign players who are under 30 because the day they reach 30 they are finished and we should only sign them if we have seen them play. Guess AP and our scouting have never seeen him play

You are unbelievable, we know our first 11 already and we have some very good backup, we may yet have a few more in the pipeline who knows. The season is 3 weeks away, transfer window over 6 weeks away then the loan window, if we do sign any more players I doubt they would walk straight into the team but as cover in some areas. We maybe need another CM and forward but there is no urgent requirement. You moan about lack of signings and when we do sign someone you still moan. Then again it wouldn't be alpine if you wasn't moaning.

So are you suggesting Butterfield is past it then because he has hit 30? A player can be past it at the age of 28 just as a player of 30 can be in his prime. There are no mathematics involved, quite simply a person called the wrong side of 30 is 35+ end of.

We seem to have a few of these players now: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain James Ward-Prowse Jordace Holder-Spooner Do they make shirts big enough to fit these names, will make shirts more expensive as well if you choose one of these.

30-34 is the right side of 30, 35-39 is the wrong side of 30. As someone has pointed out guess Gerrard, Lampard etc are obviously too old for us then.
