  1. Back to the drawing board.
  2. it's not going to happen is it?
  3. Oh dear......I guess its been set up for this all week but hoped it would not happen...
  4. I hope our players don't think that!

    Now, that is funny!!!!! ;-)
  6. I liked Beattie when he was with us but for us oldies :-) I don't think he comes remotely near the 'greats' like Ron Davies, Mick Channon, Phil Boyer, KK, MLT,or Steve Moran..... ....for me it's probably got to be big Ron because he was the first, but all the above gave great enjoyment over the years. Nothing has been quite the same since.

the UPTHESAINTS site are reporting that he has signed on a season-long loan, but don't know how accurate that is....
  8. Love it! Great read! Thanks
  9. My thoughts too.....
  10. Well, he's here now (as confirmed on OS) so let's give him a chance. Not feeling very excited by what we've heard but I think JP knows what he's doing and has called him a good footballing player. A free transfer, it says on the OS but I guess that doesn't mean he couldn't have come as a makeweight in the Davies deal. Hopefully we've got him PLUS the £1.3m that was mentioned!
  11. Thanks for that. Good to hear Hope it all goes well

Let's just hope not too many other clubs get wind of this before he signs for us!
  13. They were dropping like a stone towards the end of last season and were my tips for relegation. However, like Steve Grant said, they had just about enough points on the board from earlier on and managed to get what they needed to keep their heads above water. Will be interesting to see how we perform against them now we are expecting to beat them. Hope we are not overconfident!
  14. I'm having trouble adjusting to the rush of common sense on here all of a sudden!! ;-) Seriously though, excellent thread. Thanks guys.
  15. Thanks. Good to hear. Just one point may be worth picking up on though - Schneiderlin was indeed playing further up the field tactically this evening and apparently was asked to play in the hole instead of Lallana so he could move wide right. Gillett and Wotton were playing the DM roles so I guess he was out of his most natural position tonight.
  16. There are already a few first hand reports on the Post match reaction thread as well.....very encouraging too!
  17. Very fair report from a Birmingham unofficial site here too http://www.birminghamcity-mad.co.uk/news/loadrprt.asp?cid=MTCH&id=404095 Thanks for your first hand reports too guys. Very encouraging.
  18. Probably had Gillett stood on a box! :-0
  19. Actually I think we are well covered there: I understand Lallana played there this evening not Schneiderlin as Sky mentioned and Thomson, Dyer, White, Mcgoldrick and BWP can all play there too Agree that left back has less experienced cover but great if Cork can cover too Generally things are really taking shape though......
  20. I agree. I've always enjoyed seeing the youngsters play and been impressed with them. The fact they're taking more than a little step up and 'cutting it' so far says an awful lot about their quality. I knew they looked good at their age level but have been quite frankly shocked at the quality they've shown at the higher level this season.
  21. Good point about our team selection. I thought for a minute you were going to say we beat an understrength Brum side. I was ready to say that although they rested one or two, they had quality replacements and their site said Alex McLeish was obviously taking it seriously. Might need to be ready with that info too!
  22. And all the signs are good at the moment! Hopefully, and with greater experience.... things can only get better!
  23. At home, and I'd be happy for us to give it a go!
  24. He is short, but Wikepedia says 5'6" Not sure if that's accurate
  25. Good on ya TDD, I agree and am starting to feel quite excited. Think JP is doing an excellent job so far and getting tactics and substitutions spot on. I also left the West Ham game with a real buzz and quite shocked I dared hardly hope we could reproduce it in real competition but it's starting to happen! Brilliant!
