Thought ABK was pretty good. Back 4 with KWP - THB - ABK - Welington for the rest of the season. Ditch the back 5 rubbish, never worked for us.

The players are not good enough, but that's what happens when you buy quantity and not quality (and allow your manager to buy his mates). The signings of Fraser and Wood were all completely unnecessary, and made as mates of Martin. Downes was overpriced, but threw all our eggs in on him as he's mates with Martin. Instead of signing Archer, Brereton Diaz and Cornet (remember him?) we could've just spent £25 million on a first choice better quality striker. Charlie Taylor not needed if we already had Manning and KWP playing there (and Welington coming in Jan), and dont know how much we've subsidised Goztepe's best ever season giving them their starting keeper and two starting players on loan - are Juan and Matsuki going to come in and do well for us next season? Fingers crossed, but not holding my breath. All feels like SR have tried to be too clever by taking multiple punts on players which havent really worked out, whilst also letting the manager then buy others who arent good enough. The only successful signings have been Fernandes and Ramsdale, which says a lot when you've signed 20 players...

It would need to be a minimum of £25mil I reckon. We signed him for £20 million and having won an England cap since, had a season (albeit in a terrible side) in the Premier League, and us knowing how good he is in the Championship, they'd be no point selling for a loss or the same we bought him for.

So with Harwood-Bellis and Bednarek out, along with Ugochukwu, who is going to play in the middle. Would he play ABK again potentially with Stephens and Wood?! Aribo back in centre midfield, or will Downes be brought back in? Either way, looks like we're going to have to pray we score a couple at least, as with those options, I can't see us conceding less than 2.

Prediction - Downes will be reintegrated before the end of the season and issue an apology. His name will be announced at St Marys to a chorus of boos, he'll then get pissed off and concede a stupid yellow early on with a leading elbow, then proceed to do something else stupid early in the second half to get himself sent off. Much like Martin's other favourite, Captain Jack.

Have heard a deal sheet went in from Russell Martin for Jack Stephens at wherever he next manages in the next 24 months. Currently looking uncertain if it’ll go through this window.

Very conflicting reports here. The quote was that he "had a problem in the week" and when challenged if he was injured, Juric shot down the question. So yes, he is a sick note, but that might not be the reason he was out.

Interesting move. We totally wasted him, one of the very few players to come out of the back end of our last premier league season with any credit, and of course Martin hated his direct style and unpredictability. I guess we wouldnt have bought Fernandes if he was still here, but a midfield with both of them would've offered a lot more goal threat.

LOL at Wilfred "Ego" Zaha going to Galatasaray and being very average, then being loaned to Lyon and only starting 1 game in half a season, and now at the mighty Charlotte FC...! 🤣 Fees to the Turkish leagues are so bad.
