  1. Credit where it's due - thought he looked awful in the pre-season match last year against Oxford but seemed semi-competent last season in a terrible team, even though doesn't look as natural on the ball as some. Played well last night and showed some actual strength, which has been seemingly missing from our powder puff backline for a while. Thought Quarshie was also decent
  2. He looks completely devoid of confidence, unlike his pre-season cameo where he took the run and smashed in a lovely finish. Not the best start, but still think he'll turn out to be semi useful, just needs to put himself about a bit more!
  3. Looks like a quality player. Well done to the recruitment team, definitely good enough for the prem.
  4. I thought Fellows has looked pretty good, but same as Azaz, actually needs the ball played to him and get him on the ball so we can see what he can do. He's been playing off next to nothing. I was expecting the left side to be Scienza - Robinson - Fraser in that order, but seems it's currently Fraser - Scienza - Robinson. Still fully expect Scienza to be number one, but would have Robinson as the impact sub over Fraser.
  5. Sadly making him captain was a truly terrible decision and had coincided with us being generally awful. Wasn't our unbeaten spell of the promotion season when he was out injured?!
  6. Possibly injured? I was expecting him to go back out on loan as did well last season, but that hasn't happened.
  7. I think he will take time, but initial signs not good, and clearly lacking in confidence. For a big guy, not wanting to challenge in the air is not good...
  8. Bit harsh on Fraser (who has surprisingly been one of our better players this season so far), but I think we've got to see Scienza - Azaz - Fellows - once these guys start to play together I think we'll start ripping teams to pieces. Azaz a bit quiet but a nice through ball for Downs who with a bit more confidence would've buried that, and Fellows has looked decent on the rare occasions he's got the ball. Scienza will turn their right back inside out.
  9. Very interestingly Still stated "How many times has Flynn Downes played the ball into Finn Azaz - Zero". Sounds like he's identified we need to get the forward to the creative players a bit more...
  10. At least we do seem to have a couple of players now who might be actually able to score from outside the box - Scienza, Azaz, Matsuki(!) maybe Jander? Not sure players like Downes or Stewart have this in their locker, (but very happy to be proved wrong).
  11. Feel it's a bit harsh - was looking like he was making things happen in the second half and was brought off as he was growing into the game. Commentator (Dowie?) said similar. Also thought Fellows was looking more dangerous as we got more of the ball and think him on one side and Scienza on the other are going to win us a lot of games. Jander impressed when he came on, hopefully someone with a bit more drive from the middle of the park will help our creative players a bit more. Downes generally awful and agree that Roerslev was a bit disappointing but did make a few good tackles.
  12. disconnect

    Finn Azaz

Do they ever have other matches (e.g Championship), or just ROI games?
  13. Feel like he's been badly advised, but looks like he was definitely on his way with his 'bags packed' picture the other day. Hopefully Aribo gets his move.
  14. But it is played on Football Manager! Hopefully we can move to a back 4 and see if they can actually do the job..!
  15. Roerslev, Harwood-Bellis & (theoretically) Jelert would get into nearly every team in the division, and even Stephens, Quarshie and Welington would probably be on most teams wishlist. Wood, Edwards and Manning are very strong backups too.
  16. I think Wood is the least talented / least natural of our centre backs and always looks a bit awkward, but is a trier and has had a couple of decent games. If there was a choice between the two I’d persevere with Edwards as I think he has more potential.
  17. Fraser AM? Didnt we try that experiment in pre-season and was not good... Interesting to see young right back Tabares on the bench - how long is Bree going to be out for? Gutted about Fernandes, but maybe just rested...
  18. Not since day 1 - his first game or two he actually looked like he could be pretty good (some good positive running and crossing), but needed some time to settle into the team positionally and defensively. Sadly that never happened and he went backwards from there.
  19. I thought he might get a few games this season if we got rid of one of Wood or Edwards (and I wouldnt be surprised to see one of them still head out on loan before the end of the window) but with Quarshie brought in it does make sense to get him more minutes. Think he'll be good (hopefully for us) next season and beyond with a bit more experience.
  20. Didn't watch all of the first half, but Diomande looked fairly decent and Takaoka very lightweight (as I think we knew)
  21. TBF West Ham are used to getting stuff gifted to them cough Olympic tourist trap Stadium cough 🤣
  22. A very little this season - playing 10 minutes against a backs against the walls newly promoted team! Annoyingly whatever he had he may have also infected Downs with!
  23. Adams is significantly better than Stewart and BBD. May be a bit of a "misser" but his hold up play and the work he made stuff happen by pressing players was generally very good. Plus he was actually available more than a third of the season. Edit: posted at same time as Hypo. He's also much better through the middle than Armstrong, who should be out on the right if he is going to play. Fingers crossed Downs comes good!
  24. Including a winger who our current manager didn't regularly play then proceeded to loan out 🙃
  25. Overshadowed by the Ipswich match, but the under 21s won 2-1 away to Newcastle on Sunday with goals from Dipepa and Akachukwu. From those of the older players / have been around the first team squad, the following were missing from the squad, so imagine some may be injured but others about to go out on loan? Zach Awe, Nathanael Boot, Nico Lawrence, Joe O'Brien-Whitmarsh, Dom Ballard, Victor Udoh.
