  1. Most of the games have a stream, strange this one doesn't, although looking at the score, maybe for the best. I thought Niall Ennis (scorer of 2) was quite a bright prospect a couple of years ago
  2. Wonder what sort of team we'll put out what with players like Sims now back in the first team fold? Might be a good opportunity for Gallagher to get some minutes?
  3. Yep, definitely. Pretty similar to when we saw Van Dijk at his best, easily the best player on the pitch. Not comparing the two, but I'd say when Lemina is on form he's probably our best player. Need to get past the knocks and get him motivated playing under a good manager.
  4. Hopefully he plays and plays as ‘well’ as he did in the World Cup!
  5. If anyone from Saints deserves a call up, it'd be Redmond, but could we see both him and JWP in the next squad? Would be great to get a few more players back around the England team, so long as it doesn't all get to their heads *cough* Lallana *cough*
  6. No Austin? How are we ever going to win games when we have almost the least goal threat in the league (almost as I guess Huddersfield offer even less)?
  7. Shane Long to score... Hoping for a miracle and he finally gets his shooting boots in the post for this one. Just can’t see where the goals are coming from (without Redmond every 8 games).
  8. Shearer also didn’t miss about 3 open goals in his first 5 appearances! fingers crossed he’ll come back and score 10 goals between now and the end of the season, but we’re obviously asking a lot of him!
  9. So is he actually not even training any more?
  10. To be fair, if Slattery had just made his debut for any of the top 6 clubs, the media would be absolutely loving it and he'd probably be being talked up as the future of English football etc...! I've thought he's looked pretty good, but probably more attacking minded than a tough tackling athletic defensive midfielder.
  11. I think the point stands - if we’re relying on the totally unproven Obafemi (who’s had a couple of ok-ish appearances but not even anywhere near Ings) or Long... Jeez... Hoping Hojbjerg, Redmond and Lemina back and at their best ASAP!
  12. Yes, posted earlier how I thought it was a disgrace! Should get retrospective action - you can’t go up to a linesman or red and scream swear words over and over in their faces, especially in a Packed stadium!!
  13. Watched most of the match online. A fairly even game, either side could've won it, but a draw was inevitable. Main impression was that Burnley are quite a horrible team. Sad to say that players like Barnes and Bardsley seem absolute idiots - the kind of guys who would go to the pub just to try and have a fight. The way they were shouting and swearing at the officials and our players was pathetic, and a terrible impression to give to kids who look up to these guys. It's a real shame to see people being paid the sort of money most of us can only dream of acting in such a manner.
  14. When Ings gets injured more like (unfortunately). Surprised Long has scored as many as 8 in 82 to be honest, so for that reason alone, I'd get the midfielders and wingbacks running and crossing to Austin as a proper centre forward. Would be interested to see Gallagher getting some more minutes though and see if he can add anything different.
  15. Well Ings will almost certainly miss games before the end of the season. If Redmond also gets injured / loses form then we're really struggling. Looking forward to seeing how the U23 reserves get on though. Fingers crossed...!!
  16. Desperately need a striker / forward player who can occasionally score goals and will stay fit. I'd be very worried if we didnt bring anyone in as an attacking midfielder or striker unless he thinks that Gallagher is good enough for the Prem...
  17. disconnect

    Che Adams

Just scored a great goal for (10 man) Birmingham to put them in front at Swansea...
  18. I'd also be pretty concerned if we let Cedric go without having someone lined up to come in immediately. As Give It To Ron said, Targett seems to pick up a few knocks and Bertrand hasnt played yet since a long lay off. On the right we've got Valery who has done pretty well but looks like may pick up a few more bookings, and then Ramsey who might be a good prospect but realistically is probably not ready to be playing premier league football. Dont want to get back to the days of Yoshida playing full back...!!
  19. Went to the Palace vs Newcastle game earlier in the season - one of the lowest quality Premier League matches you're ever likely to witness. On the basis of that, would say we will beat Palace, but they're a really funny team, one week can be hopeless, the next week ripping teams apart (always on the break). They're poor in defence and the midfield is quite average, but dangerous in attack with the pace and skill of Townsend and Zaha always a threat. We havent done particularly well against the other lower half teams this season, but would like to think we'd get two to three wins from the 4 games (excluding Arsenal).
  20. I'd like to see him given a go. Hopefully he can take his opportunity if one arises. If we sell him, I hope it's because we have someone else on the way in - cant rely on just Ings and Obafemi (already both been injured a couple of times), Austin (pretty poor fitness record) and Long (awful goalscoring record)!
  21. With Long being useless, Gabbi off, Ings and Obefemi injured, I would've thought Gallagher would get an opportunity (unless we're signing someone)? Is he in the named squad, or count as a young player still?
  22. Thought he looked good and pretty composed, certainly more composed and confident than most of the other youngsters to have played this season.
  23. As in Mario Gotze who scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup?! Ralph is probably interested, but I highly doubt Gotze is interested in coming to us!
  24. Some of the comments on here are as if we had Ali Dia playing for us again! Yes, Moi hasnt been great at all so far, but there were a couple of flashes against an excellent City side which I thought looked a bit promising and on another day could've come off. The first time pass over the top to Austin (who should've scored), and a couple of runs where he quickly got closed down made me think he might have something, and is probably just lacking a bit of confidence, in a struggling team. We were struggling to get the ball out of our half, let alone get the ball to him and Austin most of the match, so difficult to read too much into that match / performance. He's not super skillful like a Tadic or Boufal, but I'm just looking forward to seeing what he might be able to do with a little more time in a more confident, fitter, team. Personally I hope the next game he plays he has an absolute storming match!
  25. Would be very happy with both of those Ins, but quite unhappy if we sold McCarthy. Gunn may be promising, but completely unproven at this level (and not even first choice for u21s anymore)
