  1. 200k seems cheap for someone who's done very well on loan, is supposedly wanted by a lot of clubs in League One and the Championship and has had some first team experience with us. Seems weird he's deemed surplus to requirements to me, especially with our emphasis on youth etc.
  2. Would be very surprised if Taylor and Flannigan are being kept on. Have either of them ever played for us? I guess Flannigan may have got 10 mins as a sub in a cup. Glad to see McCarthy not on the list, looks like he has potential (now watch him be sold)!
  3. Cant be bothered to do the others. Redmond got 8 but played upfront sometimes. I'm guessing you're referring only to players who play as deep lying midfielders? If so, Ward-Prowse probably doesnt even fit in there.
  4. Exactly... Tadic would be a big loss (apart from his penalties). I think next season Redmond and Ward-Prowse are going to be big players for us, and hopefully Boufal and Hojberg, but I definitely wouldnt want Tadic to leave without another very promising creative player coming in. How many times does Tadic get the ball, turn a man out of nowhere and get a ball into the box? Not his fault half our strike force are woeful. His is a bit up and down (like all creative players), but is a major asset to us, and not surprised he was a little annoyed at being constantly subbed when most of the time he's the only one who looks like he might make something happen.
  5. I guess so, but we do already have the world's best goalkeeping coach (as Saints like to believe).
  6. Cheers. Taylor was a completely pointless signing and unless Caceres suddenly starts playing, I imagine all the rest will leave, possibly with the exception of Jason McCarthy who has done very well out on loan and could become a decent squad player for us in the next year or two.
  7. Who is out of contract this season?
  8. Plus Sims and McQueen who both made their debuts this season and have both looked pretty promising (McQueen especially). Would Koeman have played them? Not sure. Surely we'd say Stephens has also improved and Yoshida too? They're still not perfect, but much more solid now than I think any of us would have said at the start of the season.
  9. Hopefully. Absolutely ridiculous they've just been 'given' that stadium. They've been dodgy for years, good job they have such modest, down to earth and friendly fans...
  10. Personally I think he's been pretty good. He's obviously been told to make it work with a pretty poor strike force (J-Rodnogoals, Shlong and Austin), it was only by luck that Austin was injured and the other two so ridiculously poor that we had to get Gabbiadini. The defence is a joke - there's no way we should have sold Fonte without having a replacement sorted, and we've paid the price. Yoshida has been largely pretty good and Stephens has done surprisingly well, but they're not good enough against the very best, as shown in the last couple of weeks. Puel is no doubt being told not to play Caceres too, which is a shame as he's obviously got great pedigree. Forster has also been a bit of a liability. Puel has also greatly improved a number of our players - Romeu, Redmond and Bertrand have all been playing brilliantly. Sam McQueen has done very well when he's come in too.
  11. Sky Sports 1 tonight. See that McQueen is out, so Martina will likely be on the bench with Caceres, and maybe Sims? No McCarthy still - has his leg actually fallen off?!
  12. Lots of pics of Caceres in the training photos - could this be a sign he's about to make his debut?
  13. Got one now!
  14. Cant get any of these to work unfortunately. If anyone's got one that'd be awesome!
  15. A few recent games aside, Palace have been absolutely awful for a large part of this season. One of the recent wins they somehow did it without registering a shot on target (took a big deflection / OG for the winning 1-0 goal). Lets see what teams we put out - we're due a win, are at home and both teams have a couple of important players out. Could be a good game (complete with some awful finishing).
  16. (Since the start of the season - excluding recent Gabbiadini signing) Puel has had a much weaker overall squad than Koeman did, but is still managing to do ok. Yes, the new players like Boufal, Hojbjerg and Redmond have the potential to be really good for us, but it hasnt quite happened as yet, and they arent (and shouldnt be expected to) performing at the same level as players like Pelle, Wanyama and Mane did (I know they're in different positions). With this in mind, plus the long term injuries to a few key players, I think Puel has done a pretty good job, especially at integrating the youth players and helping them (noticeably) improve. Saturday was frustrating, with Gabbiadini instead of J-Sulk we would've probably won quite comfortably, but there were also a few very dodgy moments in defence. Was surprised Caceres didnt play with Yoshida just back from Japan, but guess that means we'll probably never see him (bar injury).
  17. He gave Alli man of the match. I also thought 5 was ridiculously harsh when I thought he looked better than the other two who were on longer than 10 mins. They do play for Utd (occasionally) so I guess they could never be marked lower than a Saint!
  18. No Hojbjerg in the squad - injured?
  19. Would definitely back this. If Forster's injured (holding his leg, very slow etc) then he shouldn't be playing - his performances haven't warranted continual selection and surely the new guy cant be that bad?!
  20. All I know is Isgrove and Gazzaniga almost certain to go, probably Stuart Taylor too?
  21. Ever: Le Tiss (obviously) Current: Potentially Boufal but currently Van Dijk
  22. Has he been unveiled yet?
  23. So many ITKs have told us it's done, he's definitely here etc etc. Look out for his unveiling at Saints (or Sunderland) by lunchtime I guess!
  24. He has also played quite a few very dodgy passes straight to the opposition (including in the Liverpool game) - perhaps not unlike Yoshida used to do sometimes. He's also redeemed himself being good in the air and have seen him make a few decent runs with the ball. Lets see how he does. He would be the perfect player for a bit of the famed rotation, but being relied upon to be a premier league quality centre back straight away is a massive risk.
