Thought it was an ok performance, but how many times have Saints played very well in the first half and been hanging on in the second? There's no point being a good team for only half a match... Thought Adams played very well and JWP, Redmond (first half) and Salisu also pretty good. Livramento exciting going forwards, but again looked knackered near the end and probably time to get KWP back in at right back who at the moment is a better right back (and probably one of our best 3 or 4 players). I'd be keen to see Perraud again, as we weren't cutting down that left side very efficiently with our right footers. Thierry Small also looks like he could be really good in a year or two... Shout to Elyounoussi who looked pretty good when he came on. One common thing was there were about 3 or 4 occasions when we were breaking and our players seemed very reluctant to play in other players on the break who were in better positions...

Amazon Prime 'error at our end' 5 mins before kick off...!
-
Don’t forget, Saints have to pay 4 times the agent fees of any other club to have ever existed
-
They won! Only watched the last 15 mins or so and didnt see the trialist, so guess he wasn't that good? Good to see Smallbone back, and Kegs looks a decent prospect. Simeu pretty good, a bit unsure about the left back.

Footballing world (and anyone with morals) now desperately hoping Newcastle lose all remaining matches this season.
-
Do away teams stay at Southampton Harbour Hotel? Seems to be a lot of people hanging around waiting for people to get on the two luxury coaches parked outside
-
I’m surprised that Horseman is still in the role. Results have been horrendous, even when we’ve had most of the best players playing
-
If he's 6 or 7 million and only a sub at his current (not very good) club, then I think the whole 'we're allowed to reinvest everything we bring in' is proven to be a load of rubbish. Unless this is a smokescreen for someone else coming in (clutching at straws)! The Croatian guy sounded like a much better bet, especially as it wouldnt have broken the bank...
-
I also wondered that. A very rapid hair loss?

I thought Valery was our standout performer first half. Given a lot of the ball, beat a man and showed good skill on 4 or 5 occasions and whipped in 2 or 3 good crosses which could’ve been converted. Also put in 3 or 4 good tackles. Second half not quite as good in a different position, but didn’t think he was awful there either.

Welcome Dynel. Hope you have a fantastic career with Saints and go from strength to strength. Certainly looks like a player with a bright future ahead of him.
-
Isnt this the guy who is originally from Southampton? I think someone on the forum knew his family?
-
It seems too logical - heavily linked a few years back, played (well) under Ralph (I think) previously at Leipzig, just had a decent season in the premier league yet in a struggling team, still young with potential, in our price range... We'll probably offer 4mil and then walk away 🤣
-
Great move for him and good to see he's signed a new deal, as was looking promising when playing regularly in u23s.
-
N'Lundulu needs a loan to get games playing regularly. Being thrown on with 5 mins to go every third or fourth match hasnt really done him many favours. He can then also (hopefully) work on his celebration.
-
If those two performances were him focused on the Euros, I'm guessing this is a proposal for Spurs to pay City £100mil to take him?! 🤣
-
Ramsdale is pretty good (and an upgrade on our options) but think Sheffield United paid over £15mil for him...!
-
Loftus-Cheek doesn’t suit our playing style at all, but on his day can be a good player, as he’s shown earlier in his Chelsea career, some England appearances and did well at Palace (stood out probably due to quality around him). JWP won’t be pleased to have to run an extra 30% in matches to accommodate him though!
-
I think people are forgetting that he was playing well in the first few months of the season and we were on form. Direct, quick and making things happen. We seem to have lost a bit of that, and I think he's only just getting back up to speed after a while out. He's always been a bit of a form player, but sounds like he has a good influence on the squad, and dont see any issue in keeping him around.
-
Stephens and Bednarek both awful at full back... who’s playing left back?
-
A big update doesnt sound like "yes, he's back training and will be playing soon", more like "he's had to have further surgery and/or retire"... Hopefully the former though!
-
Any sign of McQueen?! Will Bertrand play on Friday or are we looking at Salisu converted to left back for the remainder of the season?
-
Was Bertrand banned / injured, or just dropped (presumably as it’s looking less and less likely he’ll be here next season)?
-
Ralph has said there'll be changes. I'd be keen to see Minamino given more of a chance IF there is the opportunity to buy him. He's not particularly strong, but can play the right (pressing style of) football, is skillful and can score goals. Of the others I think only KWP and Armstrong should be guaranteed a place (although understand we might rotate Armstrong).

Thought Bellis looked pretty good. Otseh-Taiwo made a couple of good runs but no end product. Tchaptchet looks ok but in a team that ships a lot of goals... Moises Caicedo looked particularly good, and Karbownik has three caps for a decent Polish international side. They had a big decent centre back who completely dominated our small strikers and one on loan from Chelsea.
