I think people are forgetting that he was playing well in the first few months of the season and we were on form. Direct, quick and making things happen. We seem to have lost a bit of that, and I think he's only just getting back up to speed after a while out. He's always been a bit of a form player, but sounds like he has a good influence on the squad, and dont see any issue in keeping him around.

Stephens and Bednarek both awful at full back... who’s playing left back?
-
A big update doesnt sound like "yes, he's back training and will be playing soon", more like "he's had to have further surgery and/or retire"... Hopefully the former though!
-
Any sign of McQueen?! Will Bertrand play on Friday or are we looking at Salisu converted to left back for the remainder of the season?
-
Was Bertrand banned / injured, or just dropped (presumably as it’s looking less and less likely he’ll be here next season)?
-
Ralph has said there'll be changes. I'd be keen to see Minamino given more of a chance IF there is the opportunity to buy him. He's not particularly strong, but can play the right (pressing style of) football, is skillful and can score goals. Of the others I think only KWP and Armstrong should be guaranteed a place (although understand we might rotate Armstrong).

Thought Bellis looked pretty good. Otseh-Taiwo made a couple of good runs but no end product. Tchaptchet looks ok but in a team that ships a lot of goals... Moises Caicedo looked particularly good, and Karbownik has three caps for a decent Polish international side. They had a big decent centre back who completely dominated our small strikers and one on loan from Chelsea.

Another pretty inexperienced and young team...
-
Explains his absence, when some thought he had just fallen out of favour (after a MOTM performance). Hope he's back to his best soon and over COVID ASAP.
-
Very surprised he hasn’t played for us since the ‘incident’. Bournemouth was the perfect opportunity, if not before. Hopefully gets off the bench soon as sure he’s going to be pretty good
-
Yep, seems unfortunately very unrealistic. Chelsea would want 30mil+ I'd imagine and he would want to up his salary to come here.
-
Agree with this. Personally, thought he did pretty well in the Shrewsbury game and the couple of early appearances after he'd been playing regularly in the B team and was coming into a decent team. At the moment he's being thrown on for a few minutes here and there when we're already losing and not getting much support at all. In January when there were teams sniffing around it was generally said we should keep hold.

Looked like a few players knew the battle was up before the whistle was blown. Really sad to see, but that's what happens when a few of them know they'll be in the team no matter what. Thought Stephens in midfield was a failed experiment - doesn't have the engine to run around enough and even by the end of the first half was just strolling around. Looked like JWP probably covered at least a third more ground than Jack! Bit harsh to judge Salisu on playing left back - clearly not his position. Bring back Fraze for Brighton. McCarthy has been generally good the past few seasons, but since Christmas there's just been too many goals conceded.

Am I right in thinking Ramsay, Watts and Ferry all were left out today? That, along with Jankewitz, N'Lundulu & Chauke who were also missing presumably for first team duties, means that of the 16 outfield players listed on the OS, 6 of the most senior ones were all out, plus Robise has left. 5-1 still a bad result, but looked a young team out again. My main query is whether it'd be better for say Watts, Ferry, Chauke etc to be playing some actual competitive football, than simply making up the numbers on the bench, seeing as it's looked unlikely that Ralph is going to use them much if at all?

Ignore - someone beat me to it!

Josh Maja looks pretty decent, and Lookman yes. Although think Fulham might still stay up. Full backs are possibly more key though, but cant think of any that I've thought are particularly great, other than that Swedish guy who played for Newcastle against us! Also, Saint-Maximim if we're somehow sold and have a budget of more than £3 mill plus sales to buy 6 new players.

I used to rate him when he ran at players at pressed them into making mistakes. Now he is increasingly back to the old 'get the ball in space, stop, look around, get tackled, moan' mentality of old. He is everyone wrong with the team at the moment - few poor decisions and bad results and his confidence is completely destroyed to the point where he might as well not bother being on the pitch. That said, if the top opposite corner of the goal was a metre higher and wider he'd have doubled his goals tally for us...

Haven’t seen the teams but is part of the problem that because we have to rely on some of the youngsters just to fill a match day squad that they’re taken from the B team (probably correctly), but then their places are filled by u-18’s (resulting in very young B team squads) and then the u-18’s have lots of u-16’s playing for them? I know that was the case with the B team for the past few matches.
-
It's so he can do his trademark cut inside and curl it a couple yards over the top right corner of the goal.

Any streams?

Whilst looking for how Gunn was doing at Stoke noticed that Stoke have signed Shawn Wright-Phillips' son, who is 19 years old! Jeeezzzz. Doesn't seem that long ago he was a youngster himself!
-
If Salisu does play, we’ve got to expect him to be pretty rusty after so long out and his first game in a new team. Fingers crossed he has a good game if he does play and he can build it from there!
-
Djenepo must be carrying a knock to not get on today?! Redmond was woeful and is back to his old “turn a player and then turn again and play backwards” form...
-
Is he not 'a week or two' away anymore then?!

Tuesday night was obviously extremely disappointing for all involved, especially the player, who could've had what he has been craving - a run of a few games in the premier league to show everyone what he can do. He's a young guy desperate to do well, who had a terrible moment. He'll learn, and next appearance (which I hope he'll get in the not too distant future), he'll hopefully be calmer and more ready and go on to have a good game. He's one of our players, and after all, it's only a sport which we follow - no fan should be abusing kids for mistakes.
