  1. Nicola Cortese, has been fantastic for this football club, long may it continue.
  2. Markus, today would have been one of the proudest days of your life,as you loved this club as much as any other fan. Thank you for saving our great club, you will never be forgotten.
  3. 3-1,they will score 1,especially the way we have defended in the last 6 games.
  4. Top man, best one touch player that I have ever seen. RIP Alan.
  5. How about 2.25 pm ish on saturday when we are promoted.
  6. Not as good since the injury he picked up at Bristol in late november. He also missed a really good chance to make it 2-0 yesterday and it was on his left foot, but in his favour he does add a lot of purpose to the team going forward.
  7. The decision to not send off Hines was a disgrace and Fontes foul on there striker, for the winner was equally stupid. I am not convinced that West Ham will win at Leicester and we will smash Coventry next week, but it would have been nice to win and still be in with a shout of the title.
  8. The clown who said that we did not deserve to beat them at SMS,without a magnificent second half display from Jason Steele,we would have won 6-0 instead of 3-0. Arguably our best home performance of the season, lets not forget that they were 2nd in the league at the time.
  9. Well done to Reading, but the fact that we battered them on friday evening and should be 3 points clear of them, sticks in the throat. I know they deserved to beat us at their place.
  10. Well done Saints [ and a special mention to Bristol City ]. Hopefully we can win at Boro and take the title to the last day. As for the Billy Sharpe detractors. [ morons ]
  11. Posh are free scoring at home, but poor defensively [ mind you,so are we at present ]. 2-3 to us. I also think Forest will run Reading very close tonight. Good luck Alps.
  12. Forest will give Reading a hard game. They are still the best attacking side I have seen at St Marys all season. [ Admittedly there defence has been poor, although it is improving of late]
  13. James Arthur Bradford 1923-1936, Bill Luckett - 1923 -1937, Bill Ellerington - 1945 - 1956, Pat Parker, 1951 - 1959, Eric Day 1945 - 1957, Leonard Wilkins - 1945 - 1958, Nick Holmes - 1974 - 1986. All on Southampton FC page on wikedpedia, must admit I have only heard of 4 of them,so please do not class me as a statto. [ lol ]
  14. If Federici had been in goal,it would not have been scored. As I have said many times,Kelvin is a great shot stopper, but he rarely ever controls his 6 yard box.
  15. I have not been overly impressed by Fonte this season either. One of 6 or 7 tonight who are not good enough for the premier league,if we get there.
  16. I thought until they stole the lead with their second goal, that is the best we have played at home for months. We absolutely battered them at times and had Lallana and Hoiveld buried reasonably simple headers at 1-1,there would only have been one winner. They were well organised but rode their luck for long spells,if we play like that at Peterboro and Boro,we shold win both games, provided that we take our chances .
  17. 3-1 to us,more confident now,for some reason.
  18. If we play as well as we can we will win,if not Reading will beat us. So either 3-1 to us or 2-1 to Reading.
  19. Unfortunately cannot see Brighton picking up 1 point from those 2 games, pretty ordinary side.Would be very happy to be proved wrong though.
  20. Massive result, sets up friday now and hopefully Reading and West Ham both drop points before friday.
  21. It was not a penalty if that is what you are asking. I sit just to the right of the goal and high enough up,to have had a perfectly good view of the incident.
  22. Must win game,a few have to step up to the plate tomorrow and I do not include Billy Sharpe in that statement,4 goals in 3 games ,will do for me.
  23. I was expecting a tight game, with us to win by the odd goal.To concede so late on,is pretty hard to take, however for all the chances we had,a draw was a fair result. We were totally disjointed in midfield and shaky at the back and were second best to most 50/50 balls. We have not played well for a few games now and ,at Palace is now a total must win game,I hope we have the courage to see it through, but I am starting to be a tad concerned for the first time in a few months.
  24. As I said on another thread, Wigan swapped places with us in 2004/5 when we went down,so it would be some what ironic if we were to swap places with them again. It would be great to sign Moses or anyone of their attacking midfielders,if the situation arises.
  25. I disagree he is a big loss,he gave us a very good viable option up front. He was[is] a livewire, never giving the opposition defenders one minutes peace, something we lack without him.Lee Barnard is a poor imitation of Tadanari Lee.
