“Some of them are too relaxed with the defeat.”
ottery st mary replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
The last few games would suggest otherwise but it is not too late for him to show his worth. He will know more than anyone the next few games are vital and he has the chance with the team to turn it round. If this does not happen the divide between coach and team increases and it becomes a real blame game. I forgive him for the last few comments about his team he should deal with that differently as it is his fault as much as theirs. All get your act together and Coach JP the season starts again from here. -
Aston Villa 0 - 1 QPR - Brighton 2 - 2 Man City

To write of this as just another cup shock and it does not matter would be okay normally and when playing reasonably consistently in the league. But the way things are at the moment it is not enough just to roll from one game to the next as it will be too late in the next 3/4 games. Coach JP sort it out now starting with much better performance against Doncaster and no ifs and buts a guaranteed 3 points against Norwich. At least lets see more effort from the side as no excuses they are your side and of course Lowey and Wildey... Let us hope and pray for something please.. -
Should at least one chairman attend all games?

Absolutely right about Sir Ted BATES Mr Saints. I was lucky enough to be invited into The top Directors suite/lounge at Highbury a few years ago by The boss I worked for at the time(quite a few times actually) I had a seat in the stand quite close to the entrance and was first in at half time. As I stood there with drink in hand, as you do, in walked Ted with his entourage and I plucked up the courage and introduced myself as a Saints supporter. He asked me about myself and proceeded to introduce myself to other Directors including Arsenal crowd. In that short space of time he made me feel welcome and very special and clearly shining through was an obvious fact that we were two fellow Saints fans. Thanks for the memory Sir Ted. God bless you. Got talking to a few of the Arsenal Directors and Tony Adams Father and each time I was asked how I knew Ted and each time I would reply, "We go back a long way and have the same love for Saints" -
I too am hoping and praying that Wildey will have noted your post and decided he can do something on behalf of the club to bring this about. Let us hope that when recovered from the second op that Ron and his wife Chris are special guests at St Marys.. Xmas would be nice...Lowey could even dress up in the old red suit... Start the ball rolling please..Nice Mr Wilde. TT you and Ron are more than welcome.. Thank you.

Lowey had a second chance so what about Arry Boy....NO on second thoughts you are right about Arry. Never again.

Should at least one chairman attend all games?
ottery st mary replied to Long Shot's topic in The Saints
Chairmen of football clubs or their deputy should always be at a game of league, cup or even freindly. They represent The club, the staff and the players. They should definitely be meeting the opposing lot for drinks before, half time and after the game. This is not only couteous, tradition, good manners etc it is where a lot of business can be done with transfers , loans etc but obviously teams like Rotherham do not count. So no respect for The Millers then. Players may not care too much especially knowing they will not get the dreaded visit to the changing room before, half time or after the game. You start to wonder if their heart is really in this club. Nice for JP to have a free run at preparing the team. Oh I forgot the half hour video conference came into play for half an hour before the game. Only joking fans. -
Give JP a chance he is young and new at this coaching thing. He will learn to make the Burley excuses given time. I am sure you have to do a course for this sort of thing.

Very pleased to hear of the progress and hope that all leads to a second sucessful op. Glad to hear that Ron and Chris are in better circumstances and that they have you two great guys giving them such great support. Well done to you TT and your better half. Lets hope you all come to the UK in the future and we can organise a few things and maybe get Ron a game.

I still think the poster who suggested ebay was on the right lines. At least you open up the potential market.

Cheers mate. Re read it apologies thought it was about him in the dressing room therefore I am a plank. Thats twice this year. -
Thank you for the time and effort and for a very good recap on many areas that needed highlighting. I particularly agree with the Svennson suggestion if he is finished as a player which would appear to be the case. Sorry for JP and team but the change should be now not later.

Should at least one chairman attend all games?
ottery st mary replied to Long Shot's topic in The Saints
At the game yes, by all means no one moaning about that but you appear to twist the comments that were about his team talks. No one would suggest that a Chairman attends games. Particulartly the Football Chairman. -
That is the difference nick, whilst scouting for loans on no expenses I sleep at the hotel under my piece of cardboard in the car park and you have the suite with Queen Victoria on all expenses. Who really loves the club more. As far as loans go, I wish Saints had got that Halmoisi chap when he was at Plymouth.. He looked really good down that left wing the other night.. Loans Teale going to Brighton didn;t he do a good job down the wing against us last season.. We need real wingers with pace...Thomson anybody.
-
As we talk, I am scouring the non league scene here at Axminster, Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth. To be honest not a lot of talent this time of year. Do you think the club will pay my expenses? Surely Arry Boy Redknapp would let us have a couple of loans for nothing.
-
We start a very good run of results starting with Doncaster.. No problem here fellow supporters, we are on a role now.
-
OK Mate, Lets get back to Saints and some major improvements and some wins before its too late. Be more gentle in future.
-
Bigoted...Negative...Moronic...Hissy fits.. you are really dishing it out to-day. You still do not mention all the strange behaviour pattern of Lowey. I do not know the man but what I have seen myself and heard even from you he is not the man I would want running my business or my football club. That is my opinion and my posts are my observations and if you want to call names when it suits you that is your perogative. I have never stated he was an ogre that is your own observation and I would suggest you look at the post past and present which will show you quite clearly in my opinion every chance was given to him and his staff of coaches but in my eyes he has failed and I believe another should take the chair and attempt to sort it out. Nick please don't have a hissy fit we are all supporters of the team and the club. Put up with us you sound just like Lowey AND HIS MOB.
-
Nick you appear to be saying that Lowey is Mr Football here or even Mr Southampton. This is not the behaviour of a Managing Director/Chairman of a big club/Business. Why would he do contracts? Normally The Football Chairman would deal with football side of business, contracts etc and why the hell would he be showing Spiderman around ground and introducing him to squad, again, Football Chairman or Wotte or JP or the man who wil not let go of the toy. Not prejudice purely puzzlement re the behaviour of a man who appears in my eyes to be a dictator and a control freak. No wonder JP is scared to blow his nose without permission. Wildey just a figure head and Wotte not good enough to be Director of Football..Another wasted wage down the drain.. You seem to suggest you know so much and if you do good luck but your protection of Lowey even on reasonable queries is very strange and not my business what your agenda is but does not lead to level discussion by supporters re some of the unusual goings on by a Director with so little ownership of a share of ownership of the company.
-
Agree with the above and still hope and pray that JP springs a couple of Dutch surprises on loan this week would be good.
-
Exeter were as good as us on the day and that is when it dawned on me we were to struggle. I did not realise how badly off we were as I really did expect a couple more players would be added to the first team. Unfortunately Gasmi and Pulis were added but only as a promise to the future after recovery and a period of matches for reserves etc. Even I did not realise at the Exeter game that we would go backwards to such an extent that we would struggle in the conference league. THere are some good youngsters but the blend is not right and tactics/positions, substitutions are totally wrong..panic Capt. Mannering.
-
Football Chairman, yes maybe, but personally not required at all, as in my opinion its a show of who is in charge. The fellow Directors should now realise urgent change now not in Nov/Dec when it is too late. Re-appoint someone else to change things now. It just is not working.
-
As I said, when he does do it, when not on scouting missions he reminds everyone of That French leader just before another defeat. No I would not love any of this to be true but I am a great believer in leaving the changing room before games to the football men or in our case allow the coach to mention the Directors best wishes if need be. In any case you have it totally wrong as it should be The Football Chairman if you insist on a Director interfering in the changing room and not all the odds and sods from the Directors box. Why does Lowe go in there at all? The coaching staff and particularly the players do not need a circus just before a game. As I have said before some people just can't let go of the toy they think the own.

Some of these are overvalued and really not match fit. Although Kamara sounds good if they paid most of the wages.
