A fit Wotton was always going to be good for Saints at the back or holding mid-field. All we need now is for another two experienced players to come good and we could be on the up. Nick, when I gave you these good snippets of info I asked you not to tell anybody. What are you like? Come on you Saints.

Saints 0-0 Barnsley - Reaction/Doughnuts/Lucy Pinder Thread

Personally Warsash Wasps were always a talented bunch but for the present crop I am not in a position to give them credit as I have not seen them play. Have you lost your sense of humour or you narked because Lowey does the team talk? -

Any talent whatsoever and they will be in the side next game for sure. -

nickh As regards Lowey and the team talk before each game he takes his blackboard and chalk with him for tactics and the like. He did have a magnetic board but with the cut backs and all that. When he is not available he does his team talk by remote like video conference but he is the only one allowed to speak. Hope that helps. He also does a bit of scouting for new players. -
Dexter A GOALKEEPER TOO.

Now fit and playing matches Wotton has to be in the side holding mid-field or Centre back. A match fit Svensson would help and together with Cork, Pekhart, Lallana, Spiderman and we have the makings of a good side.

The truth re Gasmi and especially Pulis would help me at least.

Slight tongue in cheek as you realised I am stil a fan ofthe coach but not how it has all come about..Money Money Money. As you say no looking back but only to think will we avoid the same mistakes again. Your list one short but agreed by me to a certain extent. Davies and Matt Mills and Fish Mills left Back in due course. I have tried to fathom out the Davies/ Pulis transfer. If you can help. I know Davies DID NOT want to go and yes he is injured and will not be ready yet for Stoke? But Pulis transfer money oH YES.. AND WAGES is he potential..NO and will he get in the side..NO. iS HE FIT... NO When will he be to prove me wrong.. No sense to this whatsoever.... Gasmi I have not got a clue and can only guess he is another with fantastic potential and may get in the side and maybe a good investment.. He will be costing a fee and is already being paid by us and not his previous club... When fit..God knows.. These are just a few of the things I have seen debated and with other information brings me to the conclusion JP is not running the football side and that the finances in/out are starting to close in on each other and therefore the whole earlier statements why people were shown the door now become null and void. I ask this because you appear, together with one or two other posters, to have the inside track and shout eveyone down as if with authority even when they appear to be right. I mean this in the nicest possible way as deep down you seem to want Saints to win?

Pearson washed away by the same crowd who love Lowey and his Dutch troups. Personally I believe the coach JP has the potential to be a good coach and if allowed to develop in the lower leagues will bring us back up and by the time he is 40 years will really blossom into an international coach for PSv or Ajax. Bring on the yOUTH BUT WITH LOTS OF GOOD EXPERIENCE.

As far as his love, if any towards Southampton, goes, a lot will depend on wether he sailed from the docks willingly with fond memories or was deported to Aus for some minor offence. As far as his money is concerned he will be gratefully received but will someone let go of their little toy.

This moaning comment is being turned by those who wish to make apoint for their own agenda. You know that us Saints fans like most others have been moaning since it all began. I think in the old days we used to drain out allover each other down the pub even after we had won on many good days. The young lads have done very well and most of us are rightly proud. Some of the decisions re Players young or experienced and some of the tactics/substitutions have been woeful. The coach appears to have totally disregarded Thomson, Patterson and White. Shameful.... Started moaning again. Still say that the blend of Experience has been wrong and needs sorting. My biggest moan is and always will be Andrew Davies and the strange saga of recruiting Pulis and Gasmi. Whatever anyone says they have BOTH cost us transfer fees...YES fees and high wages and neither will be in the first team playing regularly if at all before Nov... Money we have not got wasted and should have been used on real experience we needed then and even more so now.. Moan over...Sorry but as the other Poster said If you have not been going to all the games you should not post... Maybe I will end up one of The Lost Boys with three other supporters with me... Mr Lowey move aside and let Cowan run the club at least pretend you care..
-
You would think that the supposed MONEY men running this club over the last 10-12 years would like to see us win more often than not. But I have my doubts wether they really give a damn or a monkeys.Mind you if this carries on it could be ambarrassing for them. Do they care...apart from their wallet.. Then again none of them are really MONEY men when the truth be known. The evidence was there before they turned up and every day since. They only appear to want to line their own pockets for nothing and have their egos touched up. In truth they haven't really done even half a good job. LOWEY, WILDEY, ASKHAM AND THE LAVENDAR HILL MOB appearing at a theatre near you soon. Like a carry on film and it will for at least another few weeks. Hope to God we win on Saturday as to lose or draw with Barnsley will be very hard to take.

Would be like the old days in some clubs, Manager and Chairman fighting with Davies holding Lowey by the throat 12 inches off the floor saying,"I pick the side, now get your tracksuit off and get back to St Marys and sort the finances and get me the two fullbacks the two big centre halfs and keep Pekhart and Lallana here whatever it takes" AND Cork obviously. This will not happen just because of finances as we seem to be spending quite a lot of money on some signings and new coaches. Possibly why Pearson was not required by Lowey. Whatever happened to our lovely football Chairman, Wildey. PS Billy is not for Saints style anyway. Let us just love the football whatever the league.
-
Both must play Saturday along with Wotton and Cork. The reports and video show Pekhart to be very good in the air as well. So it would appear that we potentially have a very good striker on our hands who will score goals. I am still hoping Gasmi gets fit and is good as they say.

In that case um pahars could be Big Ears in more ways than one on this Noddy forum.

JP may have all the qualities of a great coach although he is coming at it late in his career. I honestly believe he needs to be the Coach to a team Manager as I believe neither him, Wotte or any of the coaching staff are Managerial material. Most good clubs have a Manager who manages/co-ordinates the coaching team and rarely actually coach as such. Lawrie Mac was not a Coach and invariably was led tactically by his senior players before and during a game when things had to change. JP was being advised by Wotton and Perry to a certain extent and would do well to have an old lag alongside him in the dug out. AND NO, NO,NO, NOT LOWEY HE HAS PROVED AGAIN HE IS NOT FOOTBALL MANAGER MATERIAL.
-
Time for JP or another to make some hard decisions.
-
James is a mid-fielder and has been groomed right through the academy as such. JP has tried to fit two very good central players with no real pace as full backs to suit his system. Mills should have been playing left back in this system with Hatch right back but I suppose age and experience was against them. Well in that case the same applies to Surman and James who are not even backs and never will be. Although if you leave them there long enough they will show improvement but I suspect their confidence will be shot to pieces and we will be in league 1 or even 2. Good pros can adapt positions but usually as an emergency measure. The alternative was the correct loans pre-season or now.
-
Not enough coaches at Southampton then? For me he does not have the footballers brain for wing play and should be used as an impact player near the end of games. Maybe it is too late to turn his game around. Loaning out to lower league team might help but in very few cases other than for confidence.
-
Sorry mate in that case he has been a little slow in showing his emotions. His first rant should have been weeks ago when he had unfit transfers foisted on him. He needs help now about this league not lower Dutch league. Severe but true. Before you start on me just remember I have had to quell a riot down here as The Saints Supporters(Honiton section) are revolting. They are up in arms and I had to send three of them to bed(teenage daughters and the wife) They are not a happy lot and have voted not to attend any more games until the sorry mess is sorted as they can see how unhappy I have become and do not like it.
-
Some on here would still like to give it to xmas of 2012 but are not able to reply because there in the box with lowey sorting a few things out. Bring on Cowan before its too late and if he can play cetre back he is in the side as well.

winning the 4 team mini league relegation lottery
ottery st mary replied to gjphilsaint's topic in The Saints
If we win this mini league we should get a special medal and a bye until the third round of The Freight Rover South Trophy as we could be playing Torquay in it soon. Has that trophy changed its name to paint or summink? We will be winners soon again or not. -
Lowey and Wildey to have a rethink together then agree to put Cowan in charge with full control and a lot of fans will return. Lowey does not understand that he will never bring most of the fans round. The football strategy has to change now or they will not come back anyway. Is the attendance the true figure as the ground looked two thirds empty. Maybe season tickets are counted and they do not attend.

JP rings Alpine after each game and gives him a summary. To be fair when all the reports come in Alpine tends to have summed up the game spot on.. Does he really have that rapport with the Dutch team..spooky.
-
Surely Hockaday and Henderson have been around long enough to put JP right. I feel sorry for him that the crowd and senior players have to encourage him to change tactics and formation. It is obviously not working and he may need Some advisory coach mentor as an interim measure before we fall away. They can practice the Dutch Babel with the reserves.
