Can’t really argue with those stats. We’ve also gone 2-0 up in all but 1 of his 6 games. Arma and Azaz getting 8 goal contributions each, both looked very ineffective under Still. He’s got all the attacking players firing, scoring and working their arses off. Impressive. Let’s hope it’s sustainable and we can enjoy this season.

Remember this one very well. It was my 30th birthday and we won 3-0. Being a June birthday, Saints are never playing under normal circumstances. Considering we were in lockdown, it was a nice present!

THB should be keeping that goal out, slicing the clearance into his own net in the last 30 seconds of the game is absolutely gutting. We were poor and 2nd best for large parts but felt Millwall just didn’t show enough quality in the final third to get the win. We very nearly got away with the bad performance. Their wonder goal was another first goal for your club coming against Saints, we love to do that. As I posted before Charlton I do worry about being down to bare bones at CDM. Jander looked very tired and having Downes suspended and Charles injured really lumped the pressure onto him. We had to chuck on Romeu when he’s clearly not ready and the outcome wasn’t favourable. Similarly having no fit RB or RWB makes shutting up shop more of a challenge. We had a large number of players missing today: Charles, Downes, Downs, Scienza, Archer, Stewart, Roerslev, Jelert, Edozie Notable attacking options to change how we got up the pitch were just not there. Scienza is our best player, we missed him greatly today. This illness bug has been very annoying.

In the absence of a proper target man, we have been relying on Scienza, Armstrong, Azaz and Fellows all receiving the ball at pace and taking the right first touch. Today the middle is congested with opponents and those first touches aren’t quite happening under more pressure. You can see more hesitancy from the CBs to play those low direct balls. Given our bench there isn’t much we can do to change the shape, perhaps Romeu will help win the midfield battle and find us some extra space but Millwall have set up very well to counter our recent strengths. It’s set up for a frustrating afternoon unless we can be very clinical in the second half and keep a clean sheet, I do think Millwall will score if we keep giving them crossing opportunities.

Definitely missing Scienza beating his man in tight spaces and direct running making our attacks more composed at speed. Millwall frustrating us well and growing in confidence.

Archer was on the bench for the last game but missing for this one? No Scienza is a blow.

Yeah that’s my point, after the 3 wins in a row we are already looking like a playoff push is achievable, which in turn might make us more interesting to external candidates 🙂

I wouldn’t say no to Farke, his record at this level is outstanding.

I agree with the posters suggesting the sample size of 3 games against 3 sides you don’t expect to be chasing promotion isn’t enough to warrant giving him the job. Performance on Saturday was very encouraging. 3 wins from 3 is very encouraging. Let’s see how we do against the Leicester’s and Birmingham’s before deciding he’s our guy. It’s not an easy decision to go against Tonda if he keeps winning but you’d also think we would be more attractive to external experienced candidates if we were in the playoffs and not sat above the drop zone. This could remain fluid for a little while before we make the decision. Perhaps the right candidate comes onto the market, perhaps Tonda makes it impossible to not give him the job based on a bigger sample size. Let’s watch this space.

Leo is our star player, incredible signing for this level and super likeable guy. These highlights aren’t in order but he looks dangerous every time he gets the ball.

Yeah I’ll hold my hands up on this one, Bragg proved me wrong today and fair play to him. I stand by the expectation that Joe Aribo who was reasonable for us in the PL last season should be contributing more for his £70k a week rumoured wage and not leaving us to take risks that in other games this season have cost us.

I stand corrected, pleasantly surprised by Bragg today. Well done to the lad.

You’d think Aribo would be getting up to match fitness having been in and around the squad for a while, we’ve just had 2 weeks to prepare and we still can’t rely on our highest paid player? I’d rather have an off the pace Aribo than an academy player that’s not ready, this isn’t the sort of game to throw him into. i get the caution with Downes and Romeu but Aribo needs to start being used, when we haven’t during availability crisis we have dropped points unnecessarily e.g. Watford and Blackburn.

Bragg didn’t look ready away at Blackburn off the bench. We have Downes and Aribo sitting on the bench, why not pick one?! I’m a bit concerned about CM, down to 6th choice due to injuries/match fitness?
