I‘m not sure if he wasn’t given many free kick opportunities at WHU/Forest/Burnley but he’s one of the best free kick takers the PL has seen. I think he’d be first choice on free kicks unless it suits Manning’s left foot. Otherwise, I do share concerns on what 31yo JWP is going to be like. I do think fitness and stamina wise he is super reliable, like Milner he could play for a few more years yet. Might not be getting an over the hill player as a result and he’s stepping down a level too. My biggest concern is the absence of that strong and powerful box to box player in our squad options. Charles profile will very much be missed.

Think even the bench feels unlikely but we are desperate for a better option in midfield. I hope he can make the bench and feature but I have a feeling we won’t see him until the window slams shut, if he stays.

If medical was yesterday you’d expect an announcement today, so signed in time to play but a big question mark if we would throw him straight in. Big game on Saturday against a promotion rival, could really do with Jander and Schlotterbeck in the team but not confident we will have either available.

That one looks a done deal pending medical. Villa reportedly back at the table for THB and also looking at Todibo at WHU. Considering we have bid for Falchener at Viking, it looks extremely likely THB to Villa is on the cards.
