I don’t think we can attract a manager better than Marsch in our situation. His style suits us (I mustn’t be the only one that has watched Leeds this season and thought they were a decent watch?), he’s positive (we are crying out for that), he’s used to the multi club model we are building. I would support this appointment and actually in some way would be a little disappointed if we ended up with a Gerrard/Lampard instead.

Insight into his tactics at Leeds, very similar to Ralph so not a huge surprise. Our squad should be well suited to his style, if we bring him in. I’m in agreement with posters that say it’s not an exciting appointment but a good fit considering our position and not many favourable alternatives available, certainly none that would seriously consider the role. Provided he’s in for the promotion push should the expected happen, it does seem a logical appointment, if not an inspiring one. It would be nice to see some proper attacking and pressing football too, considering Ralph threw that out the window a while back after some big defeats, we didn’t see it in the league under Jones either.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if we are trying to find a replacement in the background. There is no logic to continuing to back this guy. So unprofessional and appears unable to clearly express a vision, style of play or anything with any substance, it seems. His comments back to ‘being the best in Europe on certain stats’ is apparently ‘everything, everything positive’. I’m pretty sure he also said in response to the fans not being sure if he’s the right man that he wasn’t sure himself?! This is not the calibre of person I want representing my club and I’m sure the new owners can’t disagree. They simply must be waiting to pull the trigger when they’ve sorted an adequate replacement. Don’t take too long Rasmus, the tiny window of hope is closing fast!

If true and 4 of our better players are training alone, Saturday is going to go well… Lavia especially is key to our midfield. I’m not sure in the stats but I’m pretty sure when he’s started games we’ve got a significantly better PPG?

Mother gets her football club a manager whose football is shit, his personality isn’t professional and his players don’t believe in him. Mother needs to rectify the situation ASAP. The end.

He also name dropped Gallardo when we sacked Ralph. I think this is just his personal opinion on an available manager that could do well. I’d take him but I read he has recently rejected Ajax so perhaps a non starter.

Not sure if this guy is at all reliable?

We simply can’t afford give him the wolves game. We could be 6 points and worse GD away by then with 16 to go. For me he’s lost the fans and it sounds like he’s lost the players. He represents the club in an unprofessional manager. His football is indeed, shit. Ralph needed to go having overseen 90/92 calendar year form. His replacement has been a disaster. Small sample size but comparing this season alone, Jones is running at HALF the points that saw Ralph come 90th in professional English football.

Was Jones being ‘coy’ on KWP injury as well then? He doesn’t make the bench so surely not just a precaution the other night? I wonder if it’s just a game off to make sure or if he’s got a bigger problem?

As good a job Ralph did with such limited resources, the calendar year of 2022 performances (90th out of 92 professional teams) gets every manager on the planet the sack. We were patient as fans and the club were patient too, it had run its course no matter how much I liked him or how good a calibre of manager he was. For me the calibre of Ralph’s replacement remains the issue. Still do feel sad about Ralph as he was the most likeable manager we’ve had in a very long time.

I’m trying to give the guy a chance but every game is huge atm! We can’t have 2 of our best 3 CBs playing B Team games for minutes. How can you pick ‘Janny B’ and Lyanco over a fit, rested and available DCC. I can understand building ABK up as he’s had a couple of injuries now and needs rhythm. Orsic has been in the building long enough now that he should be ready, Kamaldeen Sulemana is very likely not going to be involved so how can you play Orsic a day before a big game. 5 at the back, please stop. We look so bad in that shape and the players even revolt against it. We need to win games and that’s not the solution. Formations can absolutely win games, tactics is one of the main ways Jones should be contributing to our performances and earning his money. I don’t think I’ll ever like this guy (not that it’s a requirement for him to do well). He’s had better backing than any Saints manager in history, no excuses. Please prove me wrong and be a success, our PL status relies heavily on it.
