  1. Can we expect news on SSN soon? Maybe he'll get his wish if this Morgan-to-Arsenal story has some legs...
  2. This all depends on whether The9 is ready to pick up the mantle & update.
  3. I'll join you in the hope that is true. Although it's the worlds most tenuous link: "Southampton could also join the race for a player". Watched the Transfer update on SSN last night and apparently he still wants a champions league club.
  4. Bit of a backward step?
  5. I think they see him as one of the "supporting 3" behind the striker. I still think they'll sign another striker.... And that's with them having 6 on the books already though in Sturridge, Origi, Borini, Balotelli, Lambert & Ings. Brendan not very subtle in telling half of that lot they aren't wanted.
  6. Latest from the echo: http://m.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/13349809._/?ref=mac
  7. Yeah, Impressive. I'm assuming Sterling will leave soon enough & they'll still go in for another striker.
  8. BREAKING: LIVERPOOL AGREE FIRMINO DEAL Sky sources understand that Liverpool have agreed a deal with Hoffenheim for forward Roberto Firmino. The Anfield side have been looking to strengthen their attacking options and it looks the 23-year-old Brazilian international could be on his way. Formerly with Figueirense, Firmino can play anywhere across the front three, and is currently on Copa America duty with Brazil.
  9. Apparently they want Bacca or Rondon as better-value alternatives to Benteke. Firmino is good too. Would've thought they had Coutinho in his position though. Guess they need another attacking midfielder for when Sterling departs.
  10. Fortunately for us, this is a football forum so having an opinion on players is quite handy
  11. Have a good rummage through the "HCDAJFU" thread, Bronko. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?53873-Summer-2015-Hcdajfu-thread#.VYlg-vlVhBc
  12. Yeah, fairly sure if he could reproduce that form, then Swansea would be playing him.
  13. http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/midfielder-to-snub-reunion-with-southampton-coach-koeman-after-su
  14. Maybe they might need the ££'s after buying Kondogbia?
  15. He was mentioned a little while ago by @GFN_France actually & seems to be part of the current merry-go-round of European defensive midfielder's. The short story was Marseille were interested in Idrissa Gueye, who had an offer from us (but only if we sell Morgan). Marseille could only finanace the move for Idrissa Gueye if they sell Imbula. (Also maybe to us!) Not too confusing
  16. BLACK CATS TARGET DOWNING Sunderland are interested in signing West Ham United winger Stewart Downing, according to Sky sources. Downing, 30, has a contract at Upton Park that runs until the summer of 2017.
  17. Not convinced we will, but if we do can we please loan Gazza out. He needs a good season playing week in & week out IMO.
  18. A footnote on Jeremy Wilson's piece on the Stekelenburg/Slattery story... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/11692693/Southampton-sign-Maarten-Stekelenburg-from-Fulham-on-loan-as-cover-for-Fraser-Forster.html "Another Saints player of interest to both Arsène Wenger and Louis van Gaal is Morgan Schneiderlin, with Manchester United expected to make a bid imminently. Southampton value Schneiderlin at £25 million and that fee, coupled with the midfield emergence of Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla, has caused some hesitation at Arsenal. Wenger had wanted to sign Schneiderlin in January."
  19. I posted a version of this earlier... Fair play if they can do this deal, but the class of the player doesn't really compute with the club! SUNDERLAND WANT WIJNALDUM Sunderland are read to smash their transfer record for £15million target Georginio Wijnaldum, report the Mirror. PSV midfielder Wijnaldum is also on Newcastle's radar, but the paper report that **** Advocaat is using his Dutch connections to win the race.
  20. Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC CONFIRMED: Youngster Callum Slattery has agreed to sign a long-term professional contract with #SaintsFC.
  21. Falls in line with some of the other kids we've produced where you start hearing whispers about them around the age of 15...
