  1. Whether what you are passing on is worth passing on surely depends on who told you. If it was a friend in the pub I think that we can safely disregard it,
  2. Yeah - he looked sh***. Lallana was much better
  3. I never thought that he deserved the stick that he got but he was guilty of some naivity. He did a half decent job in difficult circumstances and some of the football was beautiful to watch but without a decent striker it lacked a cutting edge.
  4. We got re-acquainted with real football (as opposed to glitz) and I hope that we retain some humility now we are back in the premiership. But to answer your question, yes it has been good for us - but it might easily not have been
  5. Would that be as bad as it sounds? Poortvliet is a very good youth coach - he just wasn't the right guy for management.
  6. I think that we all know that - its just a bit of fun bring them to other people's attention.
  7. It is not a question of review. If the ball crosses the line then Hawkeye should produce an audible signal so even if the ball does get hoofed away the play will be stopped anyway.
  8. link didn't work for me but I have tried to fix it by quoting it!
  9. High heels and a pashmina?
  10. Oh! -he was - he was just unlucky with injuries. Remember that you are judging him on when he was still a youth player.
  11. I watched their last home game where he scored 4 goals, the 4th of which he had no right to score. He was standing about three yards off the line surrounded by 4 defenders, the ball came in low and fast and it was his foot that emerged from the forest of legs to stick it home. A natural, intuitive goalscorer. He is too good for Southern League (which is where Winchester are going) but I hope that Winchester get some return for him as opposed to Bournemouth getting him on a free.
  12. Explain what makes it a better goal than all the other overhead strikes that you have ever seen. I saw Crouch score one equal to it playing for Saints reserves and he was on the eighteen yard line.
  13. Strictly speaking, pure Black Country is a dialect while Brummie is just an accent.
  14. You're not Pompey in disguise are you?
  15. Thanks for entertaining me all season. These are what match reports should be. Please keep doing it!
  16. Do they need to dress?
  17. You may have got to the nub of it there.
  18. A cracking idea if I may say so. Imagine St Mary's full with people in DJs and evening dresses (your option as to which!). THAT would show the premiership some REAL class.
  19. Yep - danced round the opposition

    Adkins off?

You are definitely adding 2 + 2 and making 5. I have now watched the interview and all he was saying was that nothing is forever and, in my interpretation he was saying that he could have a bad run and get sacked or he could be offered a top job and leave but whatever happens he hopes that it is done the right way. BTW I don't think there is anything of note in the handshake - what reason would Cortese have for wanting to sack NA (unless he has discovered that he has been talking to Newcastle of course )
  21. You don't buy football clubs to make money - unless you are a Glazier and they loaded the risk back onto the football club. This rumour was around before without a shred of evidence to support it.
  22. Rubbish - I thought that Coventry actually played well for much of the match - they just lacked the capacity to finish.
  23. Fair enough - you have just cheered me up a little bit!
  24. Speaking entirely objectively - if we do not beat Coventry on Saturday then we will not get promoted at all. Has any team that finished third ever been promoted? And Psychologically, having passed up several opportunities to make promotion safe and failed to do so, I don't think it would matter who we play. So COYR ON SATURDAY.
  25. Why didn't you just say that the first time as opposed to the sarky response
