  1. I don't think luck came into it. If the jury took less than an hour to find him not guilty then the evidence must have been weak - very weak. Why would he be off in the summer if he has not long signed a new contract?
  2. I hope, and believe, that you are right. I was merely saying that having nothing to play for can be a bit of a two edged sword. I certainly don't think that Tony Mowbray is the sort of manager who would let them relax. I believe that we are the better team and we should win. I certainly hope so. I want to enjoy the Coventry game!
  3. I did not see the Newcastle goal until after the game - all I know was that I was listening to the match on 5 Live as I was driving home when Green said "The ball has come to LeTissier....." then there was about 10 seconds of absolute silence followed by a breathed "That has got to be the best goal I have ever seen" after which he described it.
  4. As you say - opinions - but my opinion is that bottom of premiership teams are not significantly better than top of championship teams and offer as my evidence the fact that Swansea and Norwich have done well without significantly adding to their squads. I think that you are overrating premiership players and underrating championship players.
  5. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. Nothing to play for - they can relax and let fly.
  6. On the contrary - I think that it is in the premiership that you will see him at his best. As usual it takes one - I was going to say bad performance, except it wasn't - disappointing result for people to start seeking scapegoats.
  7. I feel exactly as you do. My worry is that if we concede the automatic place then we will not go up at all. The record of third placed teams getting promoted is very poor and there is no doubt that we have lost momentum - momentum that is hard to get going again. We must win the last 3 games - no ifs and buts.
  8. That's that then - Cortese is clearly wasting his time!
  9. This thread seems a bit pointless now
  10. From his broadcast statements he is anything but supportive of the behaviour that took them to where they are. In fact he was blunt enough to suggest that they deserved everything that was coming. But, never mind, as I said elsewhere, never let facts get in the way of a good prejudice.
  11. Yes - but don't let the facts get in the way of a good prejudice.
  12. Funny, but the delusional last threshings of a dying skate.
  13. Nah! He used to be a Skate but he's alright now.
  14. Skate or not, I don't think that he has been anything other than complimentary about us this season and he laid into Portsmouth as being entirely responsible for their own demise when he was asked a few weeks back.
  15. To be honest , given the fevered atmosphere, I thought the officials had an OK game. Players from both sides were going over embarrassingly easily and the ref, quite rightly, was having none of it. They didn't get every decision right but then they never do.
  16. I call it excrement.

  19. Reportedly? Where was this report? I hope you are not baseing that statement on stuff from this board.
  20. I love it -a player written off after 2 or 3 appearances in one of which he scored twice. You couldn't make it up.
  21. Far too early to be drawing conclusions like that.
  22. I knew as soon as Sharp missed the penalty that it was not going to be our day. For those of our fans who in the past were a bit sniffy about Lambert's scoring record because of the number of penalties it included - well today showed that penalty goals are as important as any other. It might, just might, have been a different game had that goal been scored. I expected better of Sharp than what he delivered. Fair play to Blackpool - they got into our faces and when teams do that we seem to struggle to get going. What bothered me was that we just seemed to have no ideas. Considering the possession stats we created nothing to very little. I suppose that DeRidder was brought on to run at them - except he didn't. A generally poor performance through the team and a disastrous one from the back four who were constantly caught out of position. An honourable exception to Morgan who was everywhere but was getting precious little from the rest. Oh, and Nigel, forever passing along the back line does not win games. Ah well - blue line, move on. PS Respect to our support that was there - I could hear it all through the game in spite of the rubbish they were watching.
  23. I think that your conclusion is very odd here - I read that as meaning that Cortese was aware of the rumours but there was no credence to them.
  24. That is a confident assertion - source?
  25. As, of course, are you
