H'mmmm you clearly read a lot more between the lines of his commentary than I do
-
I like Lambert but it is still a valid point for discussion. It has occurred to me that our play has become predictable and that being forced to play without Lambert has made us explore alternative approaches. If it brings more flexibility to our tactics then maybe having to do without him temporarily will turn out to be a good thing.

You two deserve each other

Against some pretty hot opposition this has got to count as one of the dumbest comments ever on this board
-
We don't need him - we've got Adam
-
What a hypocrite - according to the Solent commentators he was in the 4th official's ear for the entire game. Also according to Solent, Dean Hammond appeared to be at the ref demanding a red card - which they weren't impressed with. To be fair, if it is true, then neither am I. Leave that sort of crap to Brighton.

If you are looking for a sense of perspective and commonsense valuations then you really should not be wasting your time with football or on football forums.

No he isn't. He is a good player and Adkins was disappointed when he turned down the contract we offered. Personally I'd back his opinion against yours any day of the week. I don't think that you will find too many Huddersfield fans saying that he is ****.

This has come as a shock to me - you always seem to be on here. Do you mean that you have been employed for 25 years.
-
Then you go ahead and do precisely that. He's young FFS and posts like this are hardly going to help his confidence. I have just seen your post further down and nothing I have seen in your opening post is indicating any confidence in him. So I stand by my opening sentence.

Do you mind. I watch them sometimes!

The wrist slashers on the match thread
St_Tel49 replied to The Majestic Channon's topic in The Saints
I think that some posters still have not got to grips with what a tough league this is. It is interesting that, even though we have been stumbling, we have not yet been overtaken. Why? Because all our rivals keep stumbling too. And the reason for that is that it is a flaming tough league - as I said. Bristol City may be near the bottom of the league but they were still a hard team to play against and as chances kept evading us the possibility of them sneaking a somewhat flukey win was always going to increase. There are still few players in other teams that I would trade ours for - position for position. -
The last clause of your second sentence provides the explanation for your third sentence. The only way that the FLS could be any good is for it to be shown for three hours on a Sunday morning. Then every club would get a bit more exposure and more fans would watch. And I have to disagree with some comments above. Pete Claridge has far more knowledge of the lower leagues that almost any other pundit and I have never found his comments on us to be anything other that fair in the context that they were made. OK - so he once played for the Skates - get over it.
-
Both could be right. The club rejected the terms that Sharp wanted. Sharp rejected the terms that the club offered. There is no contradiction.
-
I think that he might well have been a regular on the bench. NA was bitterly disappointed that he chose to go rather than fight for a place here. He clearly wanted to be playing and thought that more likely with Huddersfield.
-
What was even funnier was when the two lads missed their shots they got a tongue in cheek "F*****g useless Duh Duh De Duh" from the Northam

Agree with all of this. I get concerned that we are so spoiled by success this year that players are no longer permitted to make mistakes. To me, in the first half especially, we played the fastest, crispest passing football that I have ever seen us play. Palace could not get near the ball and the statistics at half time for them of 0 shots on target from 0 shots said it all. All of the team played their full part in this, including Guly StScottoftheNortham's ravings notwithstanding. Sorry Scotty, but whatever Guly's weaknesses are, we are generally a better team with him than without him and NA and his coaching staff obviously believe that too. Has it occurred to you that perhaps the reason why he stayed back on the halfway line was because the CMs had gone forward and he stayed back as cover? I actually have no recollection of that passage of play but that was the first thing that crossed my mind from your description. Lazy is NOT a word that you can attach to Guly these days. I saw no evidence of it today.
-
Frankly, I didn't hear much from the Palace fans and I am at the Northam end of the Kingsland.

I don't think he was awful. He tries things - sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When they don't he can look an idiot and when they do he is a genius!

I await the next episode with bated breath

There is much to be said for an Independent Republic of Southampton

Sorry but I thought that he was under a lot of pressure and had little option but to put it out for a corner. Trying to play it sideways for a throw in would have been pretty risky - and any case one of their players has a long throw on them which wouldn't have been much different from a corner.

I had the impression that they had a team of trainees covering the match.
