    Whilst most of your post makes sense, you can't have spent much time in the countryside south of Manchester. The areas around Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Poynton etc are a very long way from being crappy!

    Nicholl was Saints manager when I got into football supporting, so the first appointment I rememeber was Branfoot. I was too young and naive to be as underwhelmed by that as I possibly should have been!

    Without wishing to sound pedantic, that reads as thought there is no chance of him staying at Athletic. Presumably you mean "No chance. He's staying at Athletic"?!

    Maybe a bit too much of a "luxury" player for a relegation fight? Would be interested to see how he's get on in a team that gives him creative freedom. He seems to have pace and tricks.
