  1. Spot on
  2. In every career people move jobs for more money and better prospects, it doesn't mean they don't have good & happy memories of a former employer.
  3. OK, so if you compare expectation of him with what he has returned, there's no denying he's been disappointing. Hopefully he will still deliver and meet those expectations. But even if he never does, I will always LOVE the fact that we signed him. Remember Liverpool fans up in arms that a player of his calibre would chose us over them? Remember Lawrenson on MOTD declaring "Ramirez to Southampton will never happen"? It was the first signing we had made in a very long time that made fans of the top clubs jealous of us - and that was brilliant.
  4. Give one of the Champions League places to the FA cup winners, that'd revive it overnight
  5. The article this links to appears to have been written by Sinead O'Connor...
  6. I quite like watching games via internet stream that have foreign commentary. Despite being able to understand very little of what's being said, it still makes about as much sense as the some of the utter nonsense that the likes of Andy Townsend comes out with. (Townsend is my personal, stand-out hate figure in any commentary box, despite his Saints background) You obviously still get the crowd noise and atmosphere through the commentators voice - and if you buy some cheap lager and use a bit of imagination it has the added advantage of feeling like you're in a bar on holiday somewhere.
  7. Isn't he simply saying that he believes 'Britishness' is defined by the general public being happy to watch a local sporting event where none of the participants are British? OK - so he's got his facts wrong in that there was not an 'all-foreign' south coast derby, but there's nothing derogatory implied in his comments at all, if anything he's using it in a positive way to paint a picture of a cosmopolitan and multi-cultural society. Had he said all people who watch football on the south coast have no teeth, play the banjo and enjoy the company of sheep I could understand people getting upset, but whilst his facts are incorrect they aren't exactly anything to worry about! Maybe he meant to say 80% of the players were non-british, or maybe he meant to say Arsenal v Chelsea.
  8. Mate please come them coming, they're tremendous
  9. You forgot Cisse!
  10. You forgot Cisse!
  11. Absolutely love it
  12. You're absolutely right, I have totally failed to spot this due to it's extreme subtlety. Mind you, I'm terrible for that. This reminds me of the time I failed to spot my own sweat in the ocean. Thanks for picking me up on it though!
  13. Yep, 3-1 for me too. I would love to say 3-0 but can't quite allow myself to believe we're capable of consecutive clean sheets just yet!
  14. OK... The OP has a better user name than you (I'm guessing this is a game, right?)
  15. Cheers mate!
  16. Mine is quoted pretty much directly from Stewart Lee
  17. *Yes, first the coloureds and now the gays! Soon they'll be nobody left to be prejudiced against will there? What's society coming to?! They'll be telling us we can't be sexist next, you mark my words. (*and just in case there’s anyone from the Mail on Sunday reading this, that's not what I think, I was using an exaggerated form of the rhetoric and the implied values of the OP to satirise the rhetoric and the implied values of the OP.)
  18. Opening this thread took 3 seconds of my life that I'll never get back
  19. Lambert even after he's missed one.
  20. Crikey, I didn't realise a contingent of our fans were eating glory hunters!
  21. Yup, and I agree with you on all of that 100%. Let's be clear - my suggestion that MP will be out of a job if we do not improve on 14th is my belief about the reality of the situation. It is neither what I think should happen nor something I would support at face value.
  22. I won't disrespect your opinion by describing it as "laughable". My opinion is that if we only manage 14th place this season then MP is likely to find himself out of a job. That is what I meant when I said "heads will roll". Knowing what we do of Cortese's reputation for ruthless business decisions, I would personally be surprised if 14th is going to be good enough for him. (and if you find that view "laughable", then I want some of whatever you've had, it sounds like fun).
  23. If you're right it'll mean it cost Cortese et al £20million (so far) to improve by one position. Heads will roll.
  24. We finished 14th last season, have added two players of significant quality and not lost anyone of significant quality. Added to the fact the squad has a season of prem experience under its belt. Surely we'll improve on last year?!
