  1. On the other hand city took us a part trying to play it safe if we had just gone for it they probably have beaten us by a cricket score the way they were playing. Had Gabbi and Tadic done better on that chance at 0-0 it could have been a different game.
  2. Basically unless a new owner is an Arab sheikh or Russian energy baron with vastly more cash then he knows what to do with I'd rather stick.
  3. We couldn't even get the ball of city for long periods when we did get the ball we pretty much gave it straight back we couldn't play to our strengths because City had to much quality (and were actually up for it) and we were below par especially in midfield to actually retain the ball.
  4. can't say I'm upset.
  5. what the hell has the goals Shane Long scored for Ireland got to do with anything other than supporting another of your spurious arguments and as for Jrod....
  6. Ha ha ha I like how you've include all his international goals in that list excellent trolling as usual http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=41355&season_id=145
  7. Thing is you take out two top players from a team like city they will have replacements of a much higher quality than most sides to come in. Our subs bench looks ok when we have our first choice 11 fit but yesterday I looked at the subs bench and their wasn't anything there capable of changing a game for us especially in the midfield were we needed it most.
  8. Always good to re-visit old threads in times like this. Really this thread wouldn't look out of place among them just replace Puel with Koeman and Koeman with Poch.... https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?55001-Koeman-out!&highlight=Koeman https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?55635-Has-Koeman-lost-it&highlight=Koeman https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?55697-Koeman-this-season&highlight=Koeman
  9. If you say so. The likes of Sane, Aguero, Silva and De Bruyne had touch, vision, pace and awareness you don't/haven't seen on saints players in the PL (apart from possibly Mane when he felt like it) they were taking two or three saints players out of the game with one pass I'd have enjoyed it if I was a neutral yeah they looked dodgy at the back but seeing as we couldn't get the ball off them for long periods it was irrelevant. They are a very good team and miles ahead of us in terms of quality and played far better stuff than served up by any saints team or manger since we got back to the PL.
  10. You missed the whole of the crap mid winter period then, losing to midget land or being smashed 6-1 by pool at home in the cup. You also have to take into account most of the big teams are much better this season than they were last season...
  11. It does make a mockery of people talking about us being a regular top six side. City's performance yesterday was light years ahead of just about anything we've served up since being back in the PL.
  12. To get a result against a team of man city's quality you need them to be below par and your players to be right on it. That didn't happen . City were better all over the pitch we lost the game in midfield and they were in control from the first minute to the last. Tadic, JWP and Hoj killed us yesterday couldn't press properly, couldn't tackle could barely pass and got muscled off the ball way to easy our full backs were nullified by their full backs/wide players ( Cedric in particular had a torrid time trying to stop Sane) and once they got the goal they could pick us off at their leisure. Their speed, touch and ability on the ball was on a whole different level to our players but I guess that's what big money gets you. No shame losing to a team like city just disappointed we couldn't have given them a better game.
  13. Jwp, Tadic and Hoj killed us yesterday with poor passing, getting bullied off the ball and awful decision making we never got control of the midfield during the game with all three being so poor.
  14. Lovern is still crap now TBF and unlike Lallana Fonte hardly has time on his side to adapt.
  15. I prefer to think of it as baiting....
  16. Don't worry next time we lose a game someone will come out with it on here. The players body language will be sited "They don't look happy, Puel has clearly lost the dressing room, blah blah blah"

Pretty shocking always felt saints and Coventry were pretty similar types of club just goes to show what a good owner we have and how bad owners can **** things up. Must be like death by a thousand cuts for Coventry fans the last few years.
  18. Southampton manager Claude Puel says Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is the 'future' of the south coast club * http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4412278/Southampton-manager-Puel-Hojbjerg-future.html?ITO=1490
  19. Lowest shots to goals stats in the league speaks volumes about where our problems have been this season.
  20. If Swansea go down I reckon a few teams will be looking at Gylfi Sigurðsson.
  21. No 1st team player is sold? I bloody hope we do sell some first teamers Clasie and Jrod for starters. Ideally Forster and replace him with a GK who can actually command his box. Gardos to if we can find someone to buy him hopefully we aren't going to offer Cuco a new contract either..
  22. Clubs are the last to find out these days when players want out. It might be against the rules for clubs to contact a player under contract to another club directly but not to contact his agent. Where once clubs agreed a deal and then players talked contracts now it seems agents and clubs sort out contracts and then present clubs with a Fait accompli.
  23. The best football was under Adkins in the championship hardly ever lost a game Lambert, Lallana and Guly turning defences inside out Chaplow bursting into the box from midfield Deno pulling the strings in midfield like an English Pirlo. Only game I didn't enjoy that season was Reading at home.
  24. Except he is going to have much better offers than Everton of the top six only Spurs and Chelsea would arguably not have a better defence without VVD. Its never going to be us or Everton as his only options.
  25. I think Ronald prefers a team of big strapping lads to play a "mans" game I don't think Juanmi ( and to a lesser extent Cedric) really fitted into Koemans idea of a footballer.
