How many clubs is that who are set to activate Townsend's release clause now? I've seen Liverpool, Saints, Stoke and Watford linked in the press so far.

21 league goals I think 10 last season 11 this season. A couple of posters I read on there said, to paraphrase, he would be better with the higher calibre players at Liverpool....

Yes I doubt Pulis is really the sort of manager to bring the best out of an exciting young attacking talent.

If anyone but Puel gets the job now I'd be pretty shocked. The club PR machine seems to have been getting everyone used to the idea for about a week now would be a big turn around if someone else took the job now.

It's the lazy comparison to make (and I did it to ) but this Puel guy has done more than Garde in his managerial career. Also just about any manager you care to name would have done badly at the basket case of a club that is Villa. The whole set up at saints is far more supportive to give a manager here every chance of success.

I'd be happy for Pelle to stay (why wouldn't anyone be?) he is a very good CF on his day. Looking at from the clubs point of view though he isn't getting any younger and has one year on his contract left. He is probably looking for one more good contract before the twilight of his career but I'm not sure that saints will feel that he is worth it so I can see him moving on but I'd be more than happy if he stayed though.

Actually I don't think Southgate would be to bad he could bring through the under 21s. We need to stop picking players on what team they play for and build an England team more like a club side start young and bring them through as a team playing a certain style every game. If it was me I'd build the England team around Stones, Ali, Kane, Dyer and Rashford, Shaw and the England under 21s.

Pretty much this. Jose has, according to the press, already said Morgan isn't in his plans. So if he wants to play he will have to move and take a pay cut. No big clubs will likely be interested so why not come back here we could offer him Mane's contract and regular game time. I guess Morgan might feel like coming back represents failure but I reckon saints fans would welcome him back with open arms

The pulling power off managers is heavily over done lots of players move for opportunity and wages banging on about managers is something they save for their first club interviews.
